    Good job man. I always tell people that have never driven one before that it's a hell of a lot harder than it looks. You made that look easy. It's a lot harder when the aisles are a disaster and other people are traveling down them and a lot of the pallets are broken and your using an older model that has jerky controls. Or when some dumbass doesn't wrap the pallet very well and the loads center of gravity is messed up. I wish our warehouse looked this nice.

      Try home depot. Always stuff in the way that needs to be moved and stuff all over the place. We had an additional reach rented for a few months and it was amazing. It was newer so the controls were so much smoother, and it felt better. Our older model one sucks. Ove always had problems with it

    Just had my first full day of using a crown reach at a liquor distribution center today. Was placing half stacked pallets on the top tacks at about 43 to 44 feet high and God damn was I tense. Never driven one before and they had me doing putaway, gonna take a while but I have faith I'll become a master.

    Ive been driving one of these for 5 years and im the lead of a paper shipping warehouse and we use the stand up, cherrypickers and sit down forklifts and whenever i have had to train anyone on the machines they are intimidated by this one in particular but i always tell them all it takes is practice and know your speed dont try to go 100mph right off the bat and they become fun to drive.

      I learned on a Crown and when I changed jobs and got used to the Raymond I couldn't go back to Crown lol. The raise-lower action on the Crowns cause more fatigue IMO when you just use your thumb on the Raymonds.

    I like Crown, they're very durable and dependable, only two things i dont like is they are very power hungry ( i had to swap a battery every 3-4 hours), and the controls are slightly delayed. But they're fast, user friendly, and their "quick pick" system on their walkies is awesome. Their newer AC powered picker trucks haul ass. 7.8 mph which believe me is very fast in a warehouse!

    • @SubtlyAggressive
      @SubtlyAggressive 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, scratch that. Over the last 2 years I've gotten used to the Raymonds at my work. SOME Raymonds are ok. Particularly the ones with the second directional control so that you can stand straight, with the forks behind you. The ones without that are fucking retarded.

    • @GhostShip94
      @GhostShip94 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Subtly Agressive we have primarily raymond where I work. 6 or 7 raymond, but we also have 2 older crowns. I much prefer the raymonds. faster, smoother controls, higher visibility, more comfortable to drive. some of it is probably that the raymonds are in better condition, but that's a small contribution I think.

    You have enough room to use a counterbalance between those racks. Most warehouses are much tighter which is why they use reachlifts. If a person can walk behind you when your lift is facing the rack and all the way forward than that is more than enough room.

    • @scottrussell9376
      @scottrussell9376 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @schwenda3727 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Surprisingly for me, it's significantly easier to remember lining up in a reach to do the 90 degrees than on either a dock truck or sitdown...
      I could raise up/go in diagonally then turn it in, but I'd rather do it right just in case I ever deal with a load way too heavy to steer with...

    • @scottrussell9376

Normally I have a path just a bit eider than the hilo and I have to clear a path to turn into my pallet..

      I drive this same lift at the Dollar Tree DC and our aisles are a fucking disaster. There is stuff all over the place and our pallets are all old and falling apart and they expect 22 moves an hour. And they wonder why accidents happen. How about quit making ridiculous productivity standards in a place where you can barely travel down the aisles.

      The newer Crown models have a sort of cushioning system to the platforms that is really easy on the feet. You are essentially walking on air. Its slot better than having to walk on concrete all day. Standing all day is what humans were designed to do. It's the sitting all day that is actually bad for the body. But yeah your feet are tired when you get home like they should be, and you rest and they heal right up!
