This and thread dying is going to be a game changer. The dye-na-flow and white threads are already on their way and now I’ll definitely be trying on some fabrics. I love the idea that I’ll be able to create fabrics and variegated thread in the exact colors/patterns I want for a project. I’ve now informed hubby we need to build an addition onto the house, because I need more space to store all my art and sewing supplies. 🤷🏼♀️😜😍
Excellent - so glad you found it helpful. The Dye-na-flow is a great addition to my sewing toolbox and I can’t wait to play with more combinations :). I was given a tip for my dyeing hanks of cotton and that was to not twist the hanks first - I’m going to try that and see if it makes a difference :) ❤️
@@KoolKookyKreatures that’s a good idea… I bet that will help make sure everything is saturated for when you don’t want bits of white left. Thanks for the tip.
MAGICAL …..such an interesting process……loved the silk “all the way home”….. found the back of calico for subdued effect…..hit parade of threads….love the last two videos for referencing in the future ….”its a Mad Mad World here with KK”….
Watching your experiments is very interesting indeed. They will make beautiful foundations for stitching adventures. Thanks for sharing. ❤👍from Somerset
You're going to cost me money! I added 'buy Dye Na Flow' to my shopping wish list after watching you dye crochet thread, and now I'm scribbling 'you MUST buy Dye Na Flow'. The calico square reminded me of Howard Hodgkin paintings, while the felt looked like a landscape background. I've wanted for a while to make a felt bird, and I reckon it'd be fun to dye felt for that. I'm imagining lots of browns for a song thrush. Thanks for posting this. More experiments please!
Haha! Many apologies to your wallet in advance! 🤣. I have really enjoyed playing with the dye na flow paints as you can see and they are still over half full :). The felt bird sounds like a fabulous idea! 🥰
I love dyeing I've used dyna flow a few times my favourite is acid dyeing on silk or wool I always come back to dyeing for loads of projects I use decorators plastic sheets to dye onto you get massive sheets for next to nothing it's really versatile too
Dyeing is such fun! I love how unpredictable it is but in an organised way. The plastic sheeting is a great call and I have some of that so I’ll dig it out. I have done wool dyeing before as I dyed my own mohair for my jointed teddy bears but that was only one colour! I’m excited to try procion dyes and acid dyes :) ❤️
Aww yes please more experimentation. Aww silk fabric looks Devine, yep Calico is wonderful too. Himm will wait to see what you sew into the rather lovely lush landscape type background, I can see loads of possibilities here. Lovely video enjoyed myself watching. I love your crazy videos when you just go in gumboots and all very NZander of you yes I know your English. Aww rather happy to hear about the cotton thread being good to sew with. I’m thinking I want to dye some and have found this dye here in a store in Auckland that’s ok they will post. Would love to do one of my paintings in fabric, my house alien birds one I love drawing so much, wonder if you can paint with them …. Yep so gonna try. Me I love wearing gumboots and jumping in on all things arty.
Oh Paula - your houses and birds would look fabulous done this way :). I will be showing a couple more videos with these as I still have more than half of the bottles left in each one :) I am honoured to be compared to you lovely New Zealanders and yes I do love to jump in and not worry too much - it’s all a learning curve ❤️🥰
I cant seem to find the one where you show how you dye the threads hun 🤧😂, i have to make my own i was about to buy some ❤ all good i found it, exceptional tutorial lovey, i love the music played while you experiment away its soo relaxing 😊
Well, that was fun too. Very interesting to see you using it on basically dry fabric. Did you try on dampened goods as well? Such pretty result and with minimal change to the hand of the fabric. Great info, thank you so much for sharing your experimentation with us. It's always a real treat to see what sort of kooky things you are getting up to there in your korner. How are you feeling, BTW? Hope you are right as rain or darn close at least. All the best to you from your stranger/chum in Texas!
Thank you so much Kyra - so pleased you enjoyed it. The calico had a dampening of water sprayed on it before but the others were dry and then had small amounts of water added via spray and brush :) I’m getting better I think! It keeps coming back but this time I think it may be going for good! Fingers crossed 🤞. Hugs from over the pond ❤️

Thank you Tori. Great experiment. I have only tried the dye na flow on cotton and ironed to heat set but it worked really well.💕
Glad you enjoyed and had a go with the cotton. I’ve just used the felt piece for needle felting and it worked a treat - video up later :) ❤️
Thanks for sharing the color change! Very beautiful outcomes
You are very welcome :)
Waiting for my dyna flow paints can’t wait to try 🎉

Try Kool Aid or hair colour too
Kool aid is a definite want to try - never thought of hair colour but that is obvious now you mention it :)
