    I spent 6 weeks in the Blue Mountains back in 1992. It wasn't even a national park then. Walked tons of trails and went swimming in many waterfalls. It Was amazing!!

    My Dad used to take me to the Grose river side, enter from firetrail at Faulconbridge and walk up river for camping. Good times

      Thanks for watching. They are doing a lot of track upgrades that area over the next 2-3 years so its becoming more and more accessible, definitely worth putting on your list

    Great video! Best I've seen for hiking/camping in the Blue Mountains by far. I'll sub and check out some of your other vids.
    I'm thinking of doing this walk (but back track via the ruined castle) or the Blue Gum Forest from Govetts Leap soon with my brother. Have you done the hike to Acacia Flats in the Blue Gum also? You've sold me on Mt Solitary! Cheers, Dan

      Thanks for watching and the comments :)
      Iv back tracked like you said when I did it with my wife, makes for a great walk to and to be honest you get all the nice views that way.
      Yes, Iv done from Govetts Leap, camped at Acacia Flats then back up through Perrys Look Down to form a loop.
      I have also done the one from Govetts Leap to Victoria Falls.
      So many AMAZING walks, you can't go wrong.
      wildwalks.com has lots of good route info for the area, well worth a look.
      Enjoy your trips :)

      Thanks mate!
      From your video, it looks like there are several good places on Mt Solitary to camp besides the main campgrounds which is great.
      Is it easy to find your way up the ridge onto Mt Solitary? It's obviously a bit of a scramble to get up. From what I've heard people can get a bit lost.
      For the Govetts - Acacia - Perrys loop you have to walk on a dirt road for awhile to make it back to the Govetts car park, right? I was considering that option, or (slightly easier) start at Govetts, go to Evans Lookout and make my way down to Acacia Flats via that section of the Grand Canyon (and Rodriguez Pass I think?). Then on the way back head straight up to Govetts. Doing it to Victoria Falls sounds good too. Or there's from Mt Hay! So many options! :)
      I've seen that website, will check it out more closely, thanks!
      Keep up the great content!

      Yes there is lots, just be warned that Mt Solitary is almost always a dry camp site, so make sure you bring enough water.
      The track is pretty well worn, there is a great app for iPhone called Pocket Earth which has the trail on it.
      From Perrys Look Down you do need to go on a dirt road for a bit but go to Pulpit Rock and then there is a trail along the cliff line with views the entire way back to Govetts Leap car park.
      Like you said, lots and lots of options. Iv been camping there for years and still love to go back because of the variety.
      Enjoy :)

    Is there any camp site on the mt solitary that is close to the water or creek?

    • @JakeMarcin
      @JakeMarcin  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a creek bed half way through Mt Solitary however due to lack of rain it has been dry. It would take some considerable rain for it to get running. (We did just have a few solid days rain which have done the trick).
      However there is a water supply point and a creek either side of Mt Solitary so it is easy enough to get water before the climb up.

    • @JakeMarcin
      @JakeMarcin  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was recorded in neutral but then colour graded using FCP

    And i thought its illegal to start a fire in national park ,))

    • @JakeMarcin
      @JakeMarcin  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Fires are permitted unless specifically signed in that area. National Parks don't always have a blanket fire ban rule except on days where a total fire ban is in place due to weather :)
