You see the issue with people is they dont actually watch the context to this. Before he starts singing, Val had physically (+ implied sexually) assaulted him. Plus, he held Angel down and reminded him of his soul contract, saying "did you forget that i own you?" You can see how scared Angel is (bags under eyes, crying, voice gets deeper the scareder he gets), agreeing to everything Val says because he has no choice. Angel is an actor. Meaning he... In this case, Angel Dust is denying that he’s suffering by putting on his mask of slutty snarker. Moreover, Angel Dust is shown on multiple occasions trying to have as much control as he can, because Valentino has control over him. This whole song is him desperately trying to convince everyone, including himself, that this was his choice. That he has *control* in the matter. He’s LYING TO HIMSELF. What he’s saying doesn’t match up with what’s being shown, because ANGEL is the one singing and HE’S LYING!
Viv did say she wouldn't sugar coat the abuse Angel goes through.. And man she stuck to her word. Either way I feel bad for him, he doesn't deserve this
it shows us what true SA is and is rather informative. This segment is very artistic and realistic, and it’s disappointing people just can’t handle realistic. It disturbs me too, but I understand why they show it to you like this, it expresses the pain survivors have gone through. This person is not a red flag, he admires this part for its hardcore slap in the face shit, choreography and more.
Simply this song and the music video is disturbing and profound, Angel Dust in the song recognizes what Husk has always told him "He's a fake". Throughout the song it is shown that he tries to convince everyone and even himself that he chose that life and that he is okay with it, but he knows that he is not, he hates living like this, it hurts him, this is shown more when Charlie goes to take him out of the studio, he makes it clear to Charlie that he is fine doing what he does and only when she sees that Valentino was hurting him is when she realizes what was really going on, but she left him only because she thought she was bothering him with her presence (Plus it would probably give him more problems with Val). In fact, the Portuguese dubbing of Poison confirms everything, because by adapting the lyrics they made the whole thing more disturbing and dirty, quite raw and real, lyrics like "I don't care if it hurts, I'm to blame for this", "I f*ck easy for money" or "I will forever be your hostage" It's just so raw when you listen to this while watching Angel dancing and pretending everything is fine...
The only people disliking this came from twitter. That place is a cesspool and opinions on there don't matter. Nothing about this episode glorified abuse. It showed how ugly it is and the harsh reality. If you came off the episode feeling disturbed, awesome. That means the show did its job.

It’s not that THIS is disturbing, it’s that you have literal children who came across this (and helluva boss) on TH-cam now watching an enslaved Angel being graphically, REPEATEDLY and violently s3xu@lly assaulted to a catchy song about being addicted to abuse.
Sounds like parents need to start doing their jobs. TH-cam kids exists for this reason yet is rarely ever used.
Maybe parents should do their job as a parent and not have their kid randomly watch stupid stuff without monitoring? Tell me ur a inattentive parent without telling me you're one

Either way I feel bad for him, he doesn't deserve this
I love this song so much, still of course feel horrible for angel as i understand but like the song HITS.
Love the song, love the beauty singing it, hate the meaning of it all and the mf that it’s aimed to🤬

The way you could hear him slap himself💀
honestly my fav segment of the music video
You are a walking red flag
it shows us what true SA is and is rather informative.

Honesty, I was one of the people who complain about the music video because it was too weird. But then I almost forgot it was rated r and I have watch darkest graphic cartoon/anime before.
I guess twitter is making me dislike Hazbin Hotel.
Yeah, people on Twitter have got to get used to more graphic scenes, I mean, for fuck sakes, ITS MEANT TO BE DISTURBING. ITS MEANT TO SHOW HOW MUCH PAIN S/A VICTIMS GO THROUGH. ITS MEANT TO BE AN ADULTS SHOW. Twitter and TikTok users have to grow The fuck up.
@@teresamccarron8091 That's because they have a youthful fanbase and many forgot its an adult show. I figure out they are the same people who complained about Berserk (or any franchise that depicts sexual violence)
Now 5 years later, I started re-watching Hazbin Hotel pilot to see if its a good show and also the sassy spider. (Thanks to twitter)
I feel so bad for angel dust :(
I dkw I watch it in japanese, but its reaaaaly good
0:25 i love how stylised and cool that scene is
0:01 personal note.
I just feel bad for Angel dust 😢
It scares me, because my mom expressed to me that she wants to see Hazbin Hotel complete and... How am I supposed to see chapter 4 with my mom present?
Poor Angel didn't deserve that.
Somebody's going to die tonight.
He signed the contract and everything. He himself in the song says: 'I can only blame myself'. Not only was he behaving badly and ended up in hell he also signed the damn contract. It's honestly hard to even feel bad for him.
@@montee3766 I get where you're coming from, he is just one of my favorites.

Beside all the weird stuff AD ate this dance
it's not disturbing because it's abuse, it's just disturbing the way it was animated, 0:15 prime example, like tf that wasn't necessary, no one can say that was necessary
Pretty sad really
WERE CAN I WATCH HAZBIN HOTEL

😢
The theme is beyond fucked up, but the song and choreography is so good!
People have been complaining about SA and about it being disturbing. Like what.
I want angel to be saved first!!!!😭😭
I've seen so many people talking about how Vivzie is fetishizing SA as if she literally didn't say that Angel's and Val's relationship is an interpretation of what she went through. Also, I saw people crying about no trigger warning on a show meant for adults. When there's a r/pe scene in live action shows, there's no trigger warning. In real life there's no trigger warning. Why do cartoons need them?
Sus 😮
i was a valentino lover b4 this.. i still am.
man what
Oh. Now I see where the complaints came from.
I LOVE VALENTINO
I want to know who these 2 are behind angel dust they look so hot

He can get it fr! 🙏 (I am def not gay)
While it's understandable that children can't be monitored 24/7, the sad reality is that most of them don't actually put that much effort to even attempt it until their child sees something that they shouldn't. TH-cam kids exists for this reason yet is rarely ever used.
Maybe parents should do their job as a parent and not have their kid randomly watch stupid stuff without monitoring? Tell me ur a inattentive parent without telling me you're one

man this is awful 😭💔
Uhmm I can see why people call it graphic now, I think they could’ve handled that scene a LOT better.
Edit: my god, those clips are heavily out of context. Dude, don’t complain about other people complaining when you show scene like this without context. I just watched the full song and it’s not as bad as these clips on it’s own. You can’t just post heavily out of context things assuming people have seen the episodes and when they don’t and “complain” because you only filter out the extreme scene. You’re to blame. Don’t put it on others for getting the wrong idea 💀
Eh, can't turn back now I guess, ya know?
To be honest showing the knitty griddy part on my opinion was great. Could it be done with a bit more tact? Yes! But it's also not pulling punches cause the show is based in hell. It's sending the message of how broken Angel is, while also showing how graphic it is and how ugly the situation can be in real life... In my opinion though, it got a bit to real.
@@LokiToxtrocity I mean it’s not bad at all, I think it’s good they don’t sugarcoat it. I just was surprised by how far they actually went. Just didn’t see it coming. I personally believe that it would’ve been a better approach if they handled it just as they did in addict
Shut up they can do whatever they want with that scene
@@thundergrowl Why? I mean it is an ADULT series, I feel like adults should be able to confront the fact that Angel is being SA'd, and if they can't I think Hazbin Hotel as even just a concept isnt the right show to be watching for them
As an SA and rape survivor, you don't have to show the assault for it ti be effective story telling and its more often than not just triggering to other survivors.
This is distasteful.
Not that distasteful actually. Too many people are used to SA being sugarcoated and as a result not many are as disturbed. If it's actually seen as disturbing then people become more aware of how horrible it would be to be in the person's shoes. Not to mention that this is actually the second time that we've seen SA in Hazbin Hotel with the first being in the addict music video. So it isn't surprising that it popped up again in an actual episode.
@@EggsBenedict-te4nj They had absolutely no reason to show him being raped twice. As a survivor I have a problem with *both* especially because there was zero warning beyond the show itself being 18+, which despite what the majorly teenage fandom thinks is not sufficient. It is distasteful and putting it in a pop song is sugarcoating it and glamorizing it. Don't silence victims because you like the show.
@@inactive.mp4 The only one silencing victims is you. You'd rather keep everything nice and hidden away when people NEED to know how vile these cases are. Your argument is built entirely on how YOU feel when from what I've seen, the majority of victims have come out and said that this NEEDS to be seen.
