    How was the in room bass ? Atleast 35hz ?? Thanks

      The bass performance was excellent (as you would expect). They offered a lot of control in the low end and failed to lose focus at any point despite stress testing them with a variety of musical genres.
      For me, I was especially impressed with the dynamic range. I felt there there was punch and clarity in the bass frequencies regardless of what volume we had the amplifier set to.
      Specifically with reference to 35Hz and below, it certainly wasn't a subwoofer equalling performance, but that is intentional. The speakers offer a great balance across the entire frequency range providing enough weight in the low end to feel organic without crossing the line into over bearing.

    Yamaha m5000 £80000 power amp, c5000 preamp £8000 - that’s £16k on amplification! Are these kefs that hard to drive?

    Let us hear the speakers rather than you two talking - that can be done by reading written notes. Seriously, you have a perfectly good camera and microphone, use it! By all means tell us what you think, but having all the equipment set up and not letting us hear it? Really?

      Hello, thanks for watching and commenting. This video ended up being an out take from our longer Meet the Maker video with David. We hadn't planned at any point to record the sound of the speakers as the intention was to focus on his insight and expertise. But, we appreciate that there are plenty of videos on TH-cam where audio is recorded through HiFi systems to show you what components sound like and we will consider this in our up coming videos. Thanks!

      You do not seriously think that any relevant evaluation of a speaker can be done via recording them in a room with unknown properties on gear with unknown properties and then played back from the hard resampled and compressed MP4A or OPUS tracks through your laptop or headphones...

      @@MovieViking Yes I do! A comparison can certainly be made and the broad differences between systems heard. Certainly fine nuances may be lost, but using headphones and listening to different types of music will allow a valid comparison between different speakers and how they handle dynamics, colouration, and other factors. Otherwise, all we have is someone's opinion and that is less than useless.

    • @MovieViking
      @MovieViking 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@chrisantoniou4366 Of course you can hear differences, but… Most of what you will hear will be the room, the speaker/room-interaction and almost but the differences between the speakers. Moving speakers or the microphone position just 10 cm can dramatically alter the sound (and REW measurements will show you why).
      But if it brings you pleasure wasting time judging speakers listening to youtube videos by all means keep doing it 😊

      @@MovieViking So what you're saying is that the reviewers going on and on about the speakers aren't listening to the speakers in a ROOM? Seriously, it doesn't matter where you listen to speakers, even in person, the room will have an effect, but you can still make a valid comparison between speakers. It also makes a difference which amplifiers you use, the type of music you listen to and the volume you normally listen to. However, if you're happy wasting time listening to reviewers give their opinion, by all means keep doing it!
