There is NO bigger admission of guilt on the internet than getting called out for something and crying "you're punching down" or "your fans harassed me" instead of addressing what you got called out for.
I think Joey Swoll's videos are great for the current culture of posting everything to social media. Just because you can doesn't mean you should. Someone needs to tell these idiots they're in the wrong.
Given how one of the biggest obstacles I have with going to the gym is fear of someone filming me for mockery, I wanna salute Joey Swoll and wish it was mandatory for every gym to have a dude like him on staff to shut down anyone who tries.
13:07 I don’t understand why some people need to be told not to be an asshole to others. Why do people go to videos and attack people? I never understood that
That last video is exactly what I’m afraid of. I don’t exactly go to a spa but I go to a dry sauna 4 times a week, and often for whatever reason women bring their phones inside (which is so stupid for many reasons), even though there’s many warnings posted around the locker room saying phones are prohibited. People need to leave their phones in their locker when they know there most likely will be others around them that are vulnerable.
There is nothing wrong with what this guy does. I see a camera in the gym I'm dropping a barbell on it and cause i don't like being on film and I'm a woman on the spectrum. I've been creeped on by more women than men. No cameras allowed in the locker room ever. I freak out a lot cause I've lost count how many times its happened and the first was when I was 12. TLDR oh no if it isn't the consequences of my own actions. People need to be called out for horrible gym behavior.
19:41 To answer your question here: I’ve been to a handful of spas before, and from what I understand, depending on the treatment you’re getting, you may have to take off some or all of your clothes. This mainly applies to body treatments like back massages and mud baths. That aside, though, I feel so horrible for the woman in that clip (the one being filmed, not the ones making fun of her).
Honestly, there are so many creators that tell their audience not to harass anyone who is mentioned in the video, and if he just made a quick video about social media etiquette like he makes gym etiquette, it would help his image a lot. I personally don't watch Joey Swolls videos like that, but what I do not personally agree with is that he is either helping people in gyms or misogynistic, very few people are one or the other. There is a saying that the path to hell is paved with good intentions, it could have been an oversight from someone who was talking about etiquette that his fans would break awareness etiquette, or him mostly choosing women could have a bias behind it. The simple fact is that if he does better, he thus proves to his audience that people can change and correct poor manners and create the 'positive' change in social media that he wants in the gym.
I'm torn because Joey definitely takes down people who absolutely deserve it at times. Imho, I think he needs to take a bit of time to make sure he understands the context of what is going on because having a knee jerk reaction can result in him putting his foot in his mouth. I think he should prioritize being on the right side over getting the reaction out as fast as possible.
@critiques - How did you get through making this whole video and miss the entire point? Report your issue to the staff, don't invade peoples privacy in vulnerable spaces. There is never an excuse to record/post from the gym if you aren't/haven't reported the behavior to the people managing the space.
Correct me if I’m mistaken, but is it just me, or does he have major implants like that Liver King dude? The pic that keeps popping up (with every visible muscle flexed) isn’t how the human body normally works… right down to his m arm holding the phone. Clearly, he works out, but easy does it with the always-flexed 6 or 8 pack, bro.
Nah you can 100% be “natty” and look like he does with extreme discipline and hard work. He is just flexing for the photo to show off (as he should lol)
I'm confused: if someone makes a video of themselves and posts it publicly, why would you blur their face? I get that maybe people don't want to give them the oxygen of publicity, but still, I don't get this idea, that you have to reconstruct people's privacy for them. Also, no one's responsible for what their audience do unless they actually tell them to do it. I get why people tell them *not* to harass people but, like, they should already know that, and I think everyone who harasses people *does* know that. No one has ever told a stranger on the Internet to end themselves believing that it's the right thing to do.
I do think he's misogynistic but it's the common male kind where they don't know or care as long as they think they are being "equal". The context of his audience that aren't seeking to be equal but to lambast women
I hate the current fashion to film everyone i do like what Joey saying in the "mind you business" and go for the counter also we as a viewer will never know the full story. I do think that if the gym didn't do anything with creeps so yeah film the creep but most of the time it's just to make fun of or to be a creep yourself. i don't want to be in some random photo/tick tok
I don't want to accuse the lady of lying, but if she knew he was looking at a lady for 25 minutes, why wouldn't she record it while it was actually happening? 🫤 He kinda looks like he could be a creeper based on a stereotype, but we didn’t see concrete evidence. I dunno the dude's body grosses me tf out, but it seems nice of him to defend the disabled dude. I automatically assumed he'd be an arrogant creep and the one making fun of people since I had never heard of him before.
My thought was that he was just chilling waiting for his daughter or something. My mind does not immediately register a creep. Or maybe he was vibing to see if he wanted to join the gym. If there's people like that lady following people around filming them, I would say for him to find a different gym.
There is NO bigger admission of guilt on the internet than getting called out for something and crying "you're punching down" or "your fans harassed me" instead of addressing what you got called out for.
This was fun , i didnt know Johnny but he is doing better than many it seems
Likewise, "you took it out of context". I don't think people actually know what that phrase means.

There are far too many people trapped in their own movie.
"But I'm making content!" is the usual, idiotic, response

Is one of the reasons because the steam might malfunction or damage the phones?
@@IronWolf123Its both

Agreed, especially about the locker room. I'm so afraid someone will think it's funny to film the fat girl for clout when I go.

I remember hearing about the mudryk incident I always thought he was a bit of a weird guy. Feel sorry for the old man hope he’s doing well
As someone whose been the victim of gym bullying, I 100% with Joey and his content. Vidoes and pictures should be banned in gyms, period.
perfect timing man I just finished my finals and charged my weed pen 💯💯freaking love these videos puts me right to sleep fr
Smoke on
Okay but why do we have to be told not to harass people? He shouldn’t have to say that shit for us to know that?
Definitely need a part two.
