This is the NEW type of fire! It can Self Feeding for 14+ Hour Fire. Amazing experience! Let's go! One of the best all night Fire for survival & bushcraft!
I love the idea of a 14 hour fire! There doesn't seem to be much wind where you are. I don't think this method of fire would be safe in windy conditions. Do you? I love how well you take care of your dog. He's adorable. Best of Luck to You!
tried this 3 times. first two times it didnt take off. i think due to thin logs at 75 degrees angle i used werent dry. third time i got three thicker logs 20-24+cm in diameter. i set them up nearly vertical. at 80-85 degree angle. it took couple of adjustetments but finally got them going. and they went real good. the fire climbed up and i had 2 meter high flame startimg at 19:30. woke up at 00:30 i was cold because the fire was out. so i just stayed in sleeping bag until 5:30. then i inspecteed the fire - the two best logs were still standing tall , they had just burned from the middle, so they had gotten like 80-85% thinner. the rightt one i had set with thicker side to the bottom and it barely fed. the other one i had placed with thinner side to the bottom and intially it was feeding several times cause i heard it breaking and slamming against groudn several times. so i quess it makes sense to place thick logs with thinner side to the bottom thene there is more mass pushing it down. will try it again with thick dry logs and this time decrease the angle to 75 degrees hoping the fire doesent climb so high again. still not sure if it will feed properly
DO NOT DO THIS FIRE!!! tried it one more time. a log slipped, weight over the tripod and flew into my shelter. hot goals all over the shelter. had i been sleeping the buring goal would havce hit my face and i might have won darwin award
also it failed to feed again so i spent a cold night. seems that YT is full of noobs and idiots like me are copying them. gonna just do siberian log fire and follow Survival Russia channel only.
The angle of the timber allows the flame to separate from the bundle and the bundle has enough moisture in it to suppress the fire. If it were completely vertical, the entire thing would go up in flames. Used to do this at beach parties, where we'd get a bunch of guys to build a big sled and then burn entire logs - like, 20ft sections at a time.
interesting concept, however I prefer the longwall overnight fire as perfected by Lars in Survival Russia. I am concerned about one of the long pieces falling into your sleeping area, whereas with the longwall fire, that is impossible.

I tell you what. Everyone on here is a fvckin expert! I LOVE this! It is SUPER cool. To all the “Karens”, let a man have some fun and pull you skirts up! (Drop mic)
It looks like a fun build, sure. But as a guy who lives in forested areas very much in this video, this type of fire-build is just not practical. It's a lot of additional effort for no real gain. No offense intended. Nice images though.
I'm sorry but with all due respect, in a survival situation, it's the waste of valuable resources such as firewood that's going to kill you. You wasted so much energy in the process, both your own energy and the massive thermal energy that was given off. This is an example of how not to survive. Survival situations require that one be as efficient as possible with any and all of your resources, be it food, firewood, or whatever.
@@carpingwithcarson You can be surrounded by all the firewood in the world but without energy, that firewood is not getting on that fire. Energy is needed to gather the wood. Expending energy without a means to replenish it and all you will be doing is looking at what could be firewood, not actual firewood. That is why conservation of energy is so so important in survival situations! You don't expend more than you need. I'm not saying this is 100% a total waste. I'm just saying if fire was your only source of heat then so be it, but it must not be wasteful. In other words, conserve energy at all cost.
@@danielwhitley6696 Yes, that I 100% agree with you. I was just pointing out that people should not be out there thinking, "hey, in a survival situation, this is all I need to do," because gathering firewood is a laborious and energy consuming thing to do. Physics tells us in order to move a mass from point a to point b, we must do work on it and doing work requires energy. Without it, no work can be done. Without work, there will be no fire. Without a fire, or other means of warm in these kinds of conditions, your chances of survival are nil. Cheers.
Ah, the "self-feeding fire". The perpetual motion machine of bushcraft. It doesn't exist, but that doesn't stop enthusiasts wasting hours, days... years attempting to prove that it does 😂 At least it keeps you busy, I guess.
Great video thanks for sharing! nice idea!
Wow! Great video! Thanks for sharing.
Yes, it will work.
You can adjust the burning power or burning time by the angle of inclination.
Thanks for the video.
That fire is an abortion of a fire, I would not build this fire the way it is if you cut and bring me the logs.
@@peterloichtl4512 i tried it several times, it fails to feed all night. havent been able to make it work
What are you smoking? It must be good shit.

What impressed me about this whole video was how well you took care of you pupper! Good man. Oh and nice fire lay also. Mike from Mass.
“Pupper”?
Great tip and demonstration, thank you!
could you lean the logs up against a tall rock if there was one near by
Pretty cool.
interesting concept i must say
Pozdav iz Srbije, hvala na tutorijalu
your videos are very good 👍👍
Merci pour tes vidéos, elle font du bien. Bonne année a Toi et aux tiens.
This is an amazing video. I would love to camp in the snow.
How is it possible to have so much talent, Simply beautiful film making skills that perfectly display
It is like magic that gorenje does not go all the way up the wood.
Great bro
Why doesn't the fire on the trunks go all the way to the top? Are the trunks wet?

amazing, but why doesn't the flame just climb up and burn up all the wood???
thanks

IM THINKING OF THIS METHOD AGAINST A ROCK WALL OR LARGE BOULDER WITH THE RADIANT HEAT OFF THE WALL VS A TEE-PEE
That's a great idea if available 👍
you can shovel out the hot embers to cook with in a separate pit, perfect!
At least you brought your cezve... Hopefully a good coffee and some spices...
Se ve la belleza en las simples cosas de la vida...buena vida.
Un abrazo desde Uruguay...

Brilliant as always 😊. Great job!
Maeby i use tradional fire.. i dont wanna get burning and falling wood in my head in the middle of the night..🤦♂️
Its ok to just say that fire is very stupid.
Klasse Video 👍🏻 Gruß Witti 👋🏻
Круто! Спасибо за информация!!
Hi!! Happy new year for you ,Nancy and the new frien of Nancy...your place is so beautiful!!!!🇦🇷
Looks like he survived!🎉😂
With all that snow i would make snow walls 6 ft high around the fire lol, need way less wood when no wind
Wauw that is Amazing❣️
Nice fite
Cool! I’ve never seen this method.
Eine gute Idee das so zu machen
I'm sorry, but my "dumb idea meter" just pegged out.
Fire
no chew, only eat! - dog, probably
tu es tres beau merci!

Eh idk but thanks for a new take on a different style of fire
BONJOUR
🆒😎👍
feeding your dog raw meat ?
Thats not a good way bud. That's why you don't see it in other videos. Plus not much heat if you just leave it. There's no self feeding fire dude.
Your gonna butn dowm

It's obvious this was done for views. This would be cool in a non-life ending situation. Like maybe in the backyard for a bonfire scenario
