Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! This makes me so happy! Thank you, B & K for writing such wonderful music. It's gotten me through some hard times over the past 7 years or so. Excited that you guys are getting that Off-Broadway run!
I am so so so excited to see this! As a young 16 year old girl and as a theatre kid at heart, I have never been so excited for a show to come out. Thank you so making my heart soar with this music and this show!
I'm so excited for you guys! Wish I could make it over from London to see it, I loved hearing parts of the show in your London concert way back in 2017. The concept of the show and songs have really stuck with me, and it's awesome that you're finally getting to do this. I'll be demanding that NYC friends go and see this for me!!
It's so fascinating watching this unfold. I feel like there is a family of modern Broadway composers and writers (JRB and RSO), but you guys really personify it because a lot of your work lives on the Internet and happens through the Internet. This platform makes this show so precious to me, like it's MY show, too, even though I live in TN and it's extremely unlikely I'll be able to see it.
"Yay our musical took forever!" You two are hilarious. CONGRATULATIONS! I never got to see it at the Goodspeed Opera House but how exciting that there will be a new production of it and off-Broadway too!
Congratulations! This is very exciting! I just stumbled across the show and your work a few months ago, and I've been sharing it with anyone who'll listen. (c:
So happy for this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope this can come abroad.... And hope to see it live!!!! Congratulations to both!!! Here here to your talent being acknowledged!!!
So excited this is happening!! Also super bummed since I live in Seattle. I was very fortunate to see The Unauthorized Autobiography of Samantha Brown at OCPAC now SCFTA back in 2009! Congrats!!
Would you consider selling tickets and doing an online stream of one of the performances for those online ticket holders (or even just taping a performance and selling DVDs) for fans of the show who won't be able to see it?
We don't know if we'd be able to do something like this. There are union rules, etc. BUT there's a lot of new trends towards trying to make things like this possible and we're definitely on the look out for how to do it and get the show out to fans who aren't in NYC. WE LOVE YOU GUYS!
Congrats, Kait and Brian! And to Pete and Cara and everybody else at Prospect. As far as their off-broadway premiere, didn't they produce The Underclassmen at the Duke?
This makes me so happy! Congrats! :D Is 'Remember This' still in the show? :D Its one of my all time favourite songs! I pray one day the show comes to London!
YES! DEF! Everything we do in rewrites is about making that song feel more resonant to MORE people. When we wrote that song we finally felt like we knew where we were headed.
Amazing! I'm so excited! I agree, I really feel like everyone can relate to the song in some way ☺️ Myself and a friend are actually singing "Freedom" in our university graduate showcase in London next week! x
Great work Kait & Brian! Please tell me that the show will include that melodic "I wouldn't change anything" duet. I cry every time I hear it. Its one of those songs that grips you more and more as you get older.
Fingers are crossed for the immersive house party THE BAD YEARS (Tales from the Bad Years is the song cycle of songs from the crazy house party). Our intrepid producers have their noses to the ground for the perfect venue right now.
Really excited about this! I've followed Sam Brown for a while now hoping this will happen. Will take a while to get used to the new title but i'll learn to love it :p I live in Scotland and study Musical Theatre but I hope to one day make my first trip to America and perhaps see this show!!
Aw. It would be AWESOME if you could come. Maybe you can do a crazy priceline quick trip! :) And thanks for being game for the title. We're REALLY EXCITED about it. We think the new title is going to be well worth it when you hear it. It's stupid catchy. (This is Kait so I can say that.)
You guys will have to come see THE BAD YEARS when our immersive house party happens. We don't have dates or venue for that yet but we're crossing our fingers and counting down the days until we dooooo.

I can't make promises on this one... but we love that tune too. We're hoping to go deeper and deeper into the emotional life of these characters tho!
What about Tales from the Bad Years? Will you have a run of that anytime soon!!?
Fingers are crossed for the immersive house party THE BAD YEARS (Tales from the Bad Years is the song cycle of songs from the crazy house party). Our intrepid producers have their noses to the ground for the perfect venue right now.
Kerrigan-Lowdermilk awesome! You should come to Canada sometime ;)

Are you going to put "Anyway" in it?
Joshua Walker that's from Tales from the Bad Years but oh man I would love to see some context for that song
