I remember back in 99 or so I read an interview she did with a magazine. It was one of those interviews where they followed her around for a couple of weeks and wrote about what she did and talked to her about her life and career.
Half way through she was hospitalized for a few days with a kidney infection and she was really sick for a week or so. When the interviewer saw her again she said something like, "glad to see you looking so healthy." Jessica got all giddy and proceeded to talk about how she was grateful that she got that sick because she dropped almost 20 pounds and she was so happy that she was so skinny.
Even though I was pretty young at the time I remember being super concerned about her. That made it really clear to me that this wasn't a woman with a healthy self/body image, and a lot of her choices since then have really shown that. She seems like such a sweet person, she deserves to be happy.

Literally everyone I know is happy about weight loss during an illness and express it (short term illness with full recovery). Including those who never struggled with weight. I'm not sure if it is all that alarming.

Jessica mentions this in her book. She got a buzz from the compliments. This happened to me & I developed an ED. It’s addictive to see your body shrink. I’m a healthy weight now & best shape on my life at 40 but the ED never leaves unfortunately. It’s still slightly there. The industry is obsessed with skinny. Look at KK now!
I feel bad that Jessica in the early 2000s she received such negative criticism for being a natural girl.
They were horrible to her even around 2009-2011 when she gained a bit of weight, and even through her pregnancies. TMZ was awful, talk shows like the view would have a whole segment just on her weight gain. They would even interview other celebrities, and ask them how they feel about Jessica Simpson’s weight gain...it was disgusting. Very strange time. Women in entertainment have to put up with so much BS.

The way the public harassed Jessica for her weight back in the 2000's was horrendous. I fear we're going back to that era, and I don't want it.
David Letterman asking her about her weight was so unprofessional. I don’t see him asking any football player about their size. Jessica is beautiful at any size. In addition, David Letterman looks like a pale earthworm so David talking to anyone about weight is ridiculous.

I don't think that's going to happen. However if people keep glorifying obesity as being healthy it's going to trigger an inevitable backlash from those that know it's not. And then I could see people being mean just to make points. Not a place we want to be.

I'm surprised you didn't mention her eyes. To me, that's the biggest difference i see. But regardless, I hope Jessica is doing okay and the scrutiny she's received recently and in the past has just been so intense. I can't imagine going through that.
That heavy liner she used only made her eyes appear smaller and less opened. I was informed that women as they get a bit older need to be more conservative with their eyeliner. I am more concerned about her health and wellbeing than her appearance. I wish her all good things.

I feel that her eyebrows are not as arched anymore. They sort of go straight across now. She needs the eyebrows lifted again, possibly with Botox. But a side effect of Botox could give you the opposite reaction and your eyebrows can actually go down and look heavy. Maybe this is a bad Botox job done to her forehead?

I agree she had lost the facial collagen and I feel had a neck lift for the sagging skin after weight loss. Not so much actual full face lift. For me her look now is like a stressful weight loss affects of someone who looks sickly. When you lose weight to quickly. She appears more her own natural coloring as more pale. Which we are not use to seeing her like this. Also could apply to her look. She has nothing in there to fill this up from what was pulled away the wrinkles. Of course is a good thing no wrinkles. Her eyes are sunken in and the eye liner make up also makes her look a little sickly to me. She is and will always be super beautiful. I prefer her with a little weight though but healthy weight of course. She is still my favorite of all time and always the beauty she is as long as she is happy is what counts who cares what people think or say

Lorry, I read her autobiography a couple years ago and there is one part in it that I always think about whenever she is brought up, it is after one of her pregnancies I think (I have a terrible memory for details!) and she was getting a tummy tuck or other similar procedure, and she was deemed high risk and it was to be a very risky surgery, and her whole family including mother and husband encouraged her to do it anyway and she described this whole story in a positive way, as if they were all "supporting" her. To me, they all said to her, "yes it is important that you risk your life so that you remain an appropriate level of skinny". I thought it was so shameful and I know that deep down she would feel hurt by that. So very very sad

I'm so surprised that you didn't mention anything about her eyes. To me the most noticeable thing about the way her face has changed has to do with her eyes. They now look very sunken in. Sure the weight loss might have contributed to this, but something about them reminds me of a Simon Cowell type of eye surgery gone wrong. There is definitely something going on there. No shade intended, I just think the result of whatever procedure this was isn't working out well for her.
It’s just fat loss from her eyes, temples and I did mention a lot of weight loss .
It looks to me like she now has not just less volume in her upper eyes, but also less of a hooded eye than before. Also her brows look like they are sitting lower. Maybe it's just me but it looks like an eye procedure.

@@gg_ingy Yes, the brows are sitting lower, but it is also the size of her eyes. Even when we factor in the weight loss, her eyeballs are huge. To me this looks like an overactive thyroid, can be due to extreme weight loss, but also due to substances.

Jessica Simpson has drastically changed over the years. It seems like she may be dealing some difficult issues in her life. Somehow we all wish that she has the capacity to recover.
I read her autobiography. She struggled with alcohol addiction in the past and I think you can see that as well. Jessica was always very pretty and I think she was happy with her looks, despite the fact, that she had to be very thin in her early career. I think you really see, how bad it is for your looks, if you gain and lose a lot of weight so often as she did. To be on a constant weight is obviously good for your skin.
That said, I think Jessica is one if the very few people, who tend to look better, when they weight a little more. But it's her body and I think she's fabulous!

If you look at all the older pics she has extremely high and pointy arches naturally, now in her new pics/video of her singing, her brows are super low and flat with no arch, completely changes her eyes and gives her a lack of expression. Too much Botox can have that effect. Best example is Simon Cowell. But in Jessica's case it's way more than that. Her eyes look sunken in and lifeless, also the eyeballs look bigger, which may have something to do with thyroid issues. Her mouth looks weirdly big on her face, which gives her that Donatella Versace look. In general she looks sick and exhausted, anorexic even. Very worrisome.

Her eyebrows weren't very high when she first came onto the scene, I believe she started getting Botox around 2000. Her face looked older than her young years and sometimes Joker-like due to the extreme pull. Luckily that didn't seem to last very long.

@@mmnde12 me too.. however relapse is a huge part of sobriety. I believe it took me about 15 try’s. Something in my soul knew to never ever touch illegal or illicit drugs. Not saying at all that’s what she could be using. My younger bro died from an od in 2020. Never knew he used crack or heroin. I still feel like I never knew him. Thank God my drug of choice almost 30yrs ago was Vicodin ES. God blessed us with a baby after being sober. Grateful for every day. Everyone’s bottom is different.

one thing u didn't discuss was her eyebrow position, they have dropped significantly and once had a nice natural arch, now they dropped down into almost a low flat brow and her eyes look very different. her lower eyes seem to be kinda pulled down to tightly too. Her drastic change is similar to how off Britney Spears has been looking. I wonder if its attributed to something similar (Plastic surgery, drugs, prescription meds). Maybe also too much botox in her forehead causing the eyebrows to droop.@6:43 u can see it looks like she had an overly aggressive blepharoplasty to her upper and lower eyelids, causing hollowness to her upper eyelids and a pull down affect to the lower eyelid (not from aging because u can see its only about 1 year apart). The Emface treatments might also be diminishing important superficial facial fat causing her to look more aged (along with the facelift u mentioned).

I don't agree with this one. The face is too different to be just attributed to a facelift. While she certainly looks like she had a facelift, there is something else that accounts for the drastic change. She doesn't just look younger, she looks different.
As for the breast implants, I don't see evidence of that. We don't necessarily lose volume with pregnancy, but shape. I looked totally deflated after, yet I still filled my pre-pregnancy bras.
It's the eyes and the eyebrows, imo she doesn't look younger. The lift made her skin taunter, but it didn't make her face younger, the mouth area is now more stretched out (to the sides). Edit to add: And her teeth look much bigger or more prominent than before.

Definitely agree with the people saying her extreme weight loss and facial changes are probably a result of pill use. I know when I was abusing my adderall prescription I was extremely skinny and manic all the time. A lot of times being extremely underweight like that isn’t always due to anorexia or a eating disorder,but instead drugs like speed or pills similar to it,I think a lot of young starlets in Hollywood probably abused those type of substances as a way to be super thin but also probably keep them focused and energized for furthering their careers.

It's definitely not only Hollywood stars that abuse this. You would be surprised by how many in high demanding jobs/ positions think it's a right of passage to be actively using.

Absolutely agree. I didn't recognize her in that latest Elle video. Some people in the comments of that video were saying cosmetic surgery. Some were saying that she was just at a healthier weight now. She looks so different. Even her hair. She used to have such thin hair. Now it looks much fuller.

To me it’s all about the eyes. Whenever the eyes of a familiar face changes, it makes them not look themselves. Other examples that come to mind are Renee zellweger, and Nina Dobrev.
If you look at pics of her in high school compared to a few years later, she def looks like she had an upper blepharoplasty. I think that has kind of fallen back down to her original eye shape and eyebrows now that she's older. Probably the botox in her forehead is also making her upper eye area to seem droopier as well. I think she is too thin now, almost skeletal looking in her face. She looked much healthier in spring of this year even.
I remember being a kid when the media tried to convince us that she was sooo overweight in that one picture but she was soooo small looking back and had a flat stomach!

The first change I noticed with her was in her smile. The augmented lips, and her teeth have moved forward. Her front two teeth looking much more prominent than before, a combination that tends to give off an aged look. I have an issue with my teeth projecting forward over the years partly because I stopped wearing my retainer years ago. I wonder if jessica had braces too when she was younger and stopped wearing her retainer. Or it could be tongue position pushing her teeth forward.
I think projected front teeth make you look younger and bottom teeth showing make you look older. I love the two front teeth look I always admired that on models etc

I saw her on Instagram yesterday after maybe a decade for a pottery barn ad. I was honestly shocked! She definitely needs help :( I feel so bad for the cruelty she received after having kids especially that first concert in 2009 where she was fat shamed. I looked at her pictures from that concert and found her so gorgeous

Also, you can't "stretch" your nose bridge. Only the surrounding cartilage. A wider nose is also noticeable when smiling, because it flares out the alar base and your nostrils.

I work with one of the best cosmetic dermatologists in the world....and they have added too much botox to her forehead and it dropped her brows. She used to have a natural arch....
Love Lori's vids as always. Her eyes shape changed from almond-upward to completely downwards, especially from the lower eyelid part. I believe weight loss usually doesn't change them as such. It could be something else drooped them down. Maybe an undesired effect of either a canthopexy or just the lower facelift itself.

Good morning Lori. I’m day 2 postoperative Septo/Rhinoplasty revision. I didn’t have much swelling until I woke up this morning with my eyes totally immersed in edema. I’m really hoping that this time will be the last time. It’s really not painful but just unpleasant. Thanks for the video about your surgery , that really helped me with my pre operative questions.
I think people are showing concern more than anything. Her face is sunken in. As someone going through an eating disorder for the second time in my life, I have had my coworkers and friends showing concern for me in the same way. My face is sunken in, and I don't look healthy. I see it myself, but just need help in understanding why I can't stop putting my body through such harm. When someone is fit and healthy, their bones don't protrude through their skin. I have decided to get help, and I hope she does the same.
She is starting to look like Donatella Versace! To me, the biggest difference is in her eyes. Her eyebrows are lower and tilting downwards instead of upwards like before, and her eyes look sunken. It reminds me of when Renee Zellweger showed up on the red carpet looking completely different in 2014. I’m not an expert, but can’t this be from too much botox in the forehead? So the eyebrows get pushed down and can’t be lifted up.
I think that back in the day, Jessica was a real beauty. She just had a very unique look to her. She still looks good, but the weight gain and loss is very tough on every part of the body. She is lucky she looks as good as she does (and of course is lucky to have had a little help). I wish her all the best.

Excess skin from weight loss is a big issue for many people, and I think it’s perfectly reasonable to want to remove that loose skin to feel better about themselves if it bothers them.

She looks beautiful, always has and probably always will. And this might just be me but does anyone else see how hollow her eyes look? I think she is way too concerned with her weight and is probably under weight from the looks of it. I’m not saying she doesn’t look great I just hope she is maintaining how she’s looking now in a healthy way. It’s so sad to watch people struggle to find the balance between enjoying and doing all the beauty care things and not becoming obsessed with them.

I love your channel. Keep up the great work. Also I don’t think there’s any issue with getting plastic surgery especially when your net worth is well over 100 million dollars. Your job is to be in the spotlight. If I could afford it after two kids I’d get a mommy makeover. But I’m doing things slowly, eating better, less sugar, ect, working out. I say that to say where is the need for surgery???? Sometimes these people don’t need it. What’s wrong with maintaining your natural looks. To tweak little things here or there ok. Or improve things your self conscious about ok. But to change the entire shape of your face and body. Jessica was already beautiful.. and now I mean it doesn’t matter what I think. But is she happy with this look.? She looks like another person (not in a good way). The reason is, in my opinion, her eyes. They are realy different. I can't say exactly what procedure caused this, but it's obvious.

I feel for Jessica! What a natural beauty and talented singer… but she had so much pressure and scrutiny on her body from an early age. I remember in her book, she said when she went through puberty, they would make her wear vests to sing at church to cover her large breasts. Poor girl - talk about body shaming from a young age.
She looked very healthy and glowing just a couple years ago. The comments people are making now seem out of concern - not to criticize her. She looks frail and she was acting a bit odd as well.
But it’s her eyebrows that changed her so much? Her original super high and angular eyebrows were my favorite feature about her. It is just aging that lowered them so much she looks unrecognizable?
Jessica's current look reminds me a lot of Mila Kunis. They both had a natural and healthy softness to their faces, but that's been lost. It's a harder-edged look with sharp cheekbones and jawline. I wish these plastic surgeons would stop pushing this aesthetic. There is nothing wrong with having a softer more feminine face.

Hey, you forgot to mention how sunken her eyebrows are now compared to how high they were when she was younger. To me that has made a huge difference to her face.
