    First year trying this from a bare lot. I will be reaching out to the pros after this year's results. It's so neat that there is a whole community for this!

    When it comes to fertilizing, I see a lot of people do foliage feeding. How much and which types of fertilizers work best for foliar feeding versus putting in the water when watering the roots?

    • @GardenofGiants
      @GardenofGiants  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      When it comes to foliar feeding you need to use water soluble fertilizers and you would feed based on needs which you would determine based on your soil test and your plant health, along with the stage of plant/pumpkin growth.

    Amazing watch and thanks for sharing!
    Do you keep your biologicals in the shed and is the shed cooled or does it even matter? I’ve always kept my biologicals in a 65 to 70 degree closet in the house and wondering if I’m wasting my time?
    Thanks Travis

    • @GardenofGiants
      @GardenofGiants  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching the video I appreciate it!!!
      So Travis replied “ There is no climate control in my shed but I keep the doors open so it doesn’t get too hot. As far as winter goes I bring them indoors so they do not freeze” Travis went on to say “ that Douglas Plant health has tested product from rail cars that had frozen and the number of viable microbes was still higher then the amount on the label even after they had been frozen”

      Thanks yea some of these nutrients can be a bit expensive but they are pretty potent so it will last a while generally two or more years… there are companies that sell similar nutrients in much smaller doses making it more affordable, like the Raw line from NPK industries.

    great video! My pumpkins grow to the size of a volleyball, then rotts out. What fertilizer would you recommend to make my pumpkins continue to grow after pollination 0--0-25?

    • @GardenofGiants
      @GardenofGiants  ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you protecting the bottom of your pumpkin with foam board and sand?
      If you are doing that then I would love to plant size and make sure you have your pumpkin at least 10 to 15 feet out from the crown.
      Finally some fertilizers to really help grow your pumpkin would be potassium, calcium, boron, and maybe a little sulfur along with your kelp and your humic.
