    I have tried a lot of ranch dressings over the years in my whole food/plant based diet and this is one of the best. It has just the right amount of zing and perfect texture!

      You’re welcome Paula there is always a jar of this in the refrigerator. We left for a holiday and I put what was left in the jar in the freezer, and when we come back I’ll give it a good whip, but at least we have it ready for that day and the next.🌻🥰🌻

    Hi Nan, can’t wait to try this dressing.
    I was wondering what model of Vitamix you’re using because I’m interested to buy one. Thanks !

    • @NanSimonsen
      @NanSimonsen  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Gary, actually any Vitamix Will do the job. The one I was using in the demo was a 7500, and I have since upgraded 21 in the Ascent Series which then allowed me to get their food processor attachment and use the vita mix base with their food processor. Enjoy the dressing!

    Thank tou Nan,
    I will definitely try this recipe mainly for my husband who eats more ranch then actual salad when and if he ever eats a salad. His salads are a little bit of romain, tons of cheese and ranch. 🤮

    • @NanSimonsen
      @NanSimonsen  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great Shelly. As you make him salads, sneak in some additional nutrition like shredded red cabbage shredded carrot maybe chunks beet and jicama. It’s all about diversity of materials, the more he has the more his microbiome will shift to the better bugs, and the more they will want.👏👍

    Just subscribed to your channel after seeing your recipe on Chef AJ’s web site. Made your version, everyone loved it. But… I don’t think we will be able to finish it in a week. How long does it typically last and can you freeze it? Thanks, looking forward to trying more of your recipes.

    • @NanSimonsen
      @NanSimonsen  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Brenda! Thank you for subscribing. The dressing lasts about a week in the refrigerator. I like it best fresh, but have frozen it when we travel, and although a bit changed, it is still good.
      It is also good on baked and steamed potatoes, and raw veggies, and with steamed artichoke and asparagus. In other words, use it liberally.

    • @brendajones7402

      @@NanSimonsen well I thought I subscribed yesterday and when your channel didn’t show up on my subscriptions I investigated and realized I hadn’t after all 🤷‍♀️. Anyway thanks for your prompt response. I froze some and will be interested to see if that affects it. I had to finish up small amounts of leftovers-collards with carrots and black eyed peas, shepherds pie, and humus marinated small gold potatoes- and I drizzled some of the dressing over it-just stirred it all together. Was very good. Looking forward to trying more of your recipes.

    I'm wondering how this would be without the yogurt? I just don't keep it in my house that often.

    • @NanSimonsen
      @NanSimonsen  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m not sure Carol. I have made it with my vegan sour cream instead of the yogurt, because I don’t always have it in the house either, although I do like Forager brand cashew yogurt. Actually I quite often by the forger sour cream instead of a big container of Forager yogurt, and it has the same probiotics which I like, but a smaller container which cost less as well.
      Let me know if you make it by just leaving it out.

    • @carbar60
      @carbar60 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NanSimonsen Thanks for replying. Maybe I'll try it without it and if it's too thin I'll run to the store and get some. lol It's just that any vegan yogurt here is $4.99 and I might not use it up before it goes bad. Would be great if yogurt could be frozen!

    Do you use processed oils

    • @NanSimonsen
      @NanSimonsen  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! No, with very few exceptions I don’t use processed oil (even cold pressed olive oil) in cooking or in myfood prep. I haven’t in four years. The exception might be, for example, 1-2 squirts from my little oil spray bottle of avocado oil into the palm of my hand Then be rubbed on okra before I air fry it. Most roasted vegetables don’t get that treatment but okra can get very tough.

      @cbzombiequeen58 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NanSimonsen Wonderful, can you do recipes that have very very little processed foods, my husband's doctor said to stay away from all processed foods because it damages the arteries even the food that says healthy or organic, he said no processed.

    • @NanSimonsen
      @NanSimonsen  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cbzombiequeen58 hi again!🥰
      if you look on my TH-cam channel, you will find that most of the recipes use non-processed or very minimally processed foods. For example, things like mustard ,and tamari sauce, and tahini may be processed but minimally so. Your husband’s doctor gave him great advice, and my belief is that he is referring to processed food in a broader sense. The packaged foods that have no resemblance to the real ingredients in them, the fast foods and restaurant foods that use manufactured ingredients, and mass for amounts of sugar, refined, flour, process, oils, and salt, rather than simple, preferably whole food plant-based ingredients.
      So I’ll say again look at my recipes for non, or minimally processed. I think you’ll find somethings that you are looking for..🌻🥰🌻

    If you are a food expert then why aren't you using all organic ingredients????!!!? You are simply blending herbicides and pesticides and genetically modified's and eating them in a very intense concentrated way. This is not healthy. However, I think you are a great person and I do hope you don't take too much offense. It's just that I can't stand seeing chefs use horrible toxic ingredients!!

    • @NanSimonsen
      @NanSimonsen  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Very good point Lola’s mom! I make a habit of choosing organic for everything I buy and eat, unless unavailable. And in many cases, I simply don’t get it. On the other hand as a health coach encouraging people to eat Whole Food Plant Based I will encourage them to get the fruits, vegetables and plant foods any way they can rather than not at all. I am teaching a broad audience to make good choices as often as possible.🌻🥰🌻
