Saga and Michael. Much under appreciated band, artist, and storyteller group. I still crave Saga and Michaels new music and storytelling thru music. Fan for life!
Merci from Montreal, I have a promotional photo of the group SAGA signed by all the members of the group which dates from 1980-during a show at the SPECTRUM in Montreal. I was even invited to the private party after the show. I will always remember that evening, that night. These extraordinary musicians did not have the notoriety of their talent and their music. When I was only 20 years old (1980 = 62 years old for me in 2023) I must testify that these people were humble and true) By the way, I still have all their albums. An underestimated group in the vast universe of music. For those who want to discover another page of pure creation, SAGA is a MUST. To conclude, the voice of Michael Sadler is a balm for the ears. Thanks
Fantastic conversation, thanks to both of you, very inspiring. Following the remark of the "underratedness" of the band, if I am not completely mistaken, their first album involved the use of polyphonic synthesizers although they did not widely exist yet or were not quite affordable. I think I remember Jim Crichton having said at some point that they recorded all polyphonic synth parts track by track with monophonic synths. So also in that particular domain: pioneers. I bow down to the artistic achievements of this band.
It's a mystery to me why Saga and Michael Sadler haven't received the attention that they deserve. Michael is an OUTSTANDING vocalist.

The lyrics and the storytelling on "My name is Sam". It was a haunting story and left me wanting more!
Thank you, Max and Michael. What a unique chance to peek into Michael‘s and SAGA‘s minds and creative process. Kudos!
Awesome! After so many year still one of my top 5 band!
Merci from Montreal,

It's probably worth mentioning that Michael Sadler was NOT the Tic Tac rustling Sidler from the TV sitcom Seinfeld.
