However, Black cowboys did exist in the 1800s and still exist today. The story was fictional in The Harder They Fall but the people it portrayed were actual cowboys in real life. Blacks were the first to even be called “cowboys”. Whites were called “cowhands”. Instead of calling Blacks cowhands too, “hand” was replaced with “boy”, a term Whites used/use with Black men regardless of their age. The people that did the work were poor paid labor. They didn’t own cattle or land. Of course they were minorities, Mexican (vaqueros), Blacks and Indigenous people. There haven’t been black westerns because Hollywood hasn’t made them and not because black cowboys didn’t exist. You should never rely on Hollywood to accurately depict American history.

It was a friend of a friend of a client of mine who set it up just before the first lockdown. She was trying to encourage me to try a different way of dating (ie. go in to it with an open mind with no preconceptions about how my date might look or not doing a classic social media stalk beforehand. Bloody hell I wish I had. We agreed to meet at The Ned in London - I said be wearing a camel coat and she said she'd be wearing something red. Anyway, I'm pretty casual - jeans, shirt and suede boots. She turns up in this full red dinner gown like she's on her way to a formal ball. Obviously I felt underdressed but she was attractive and seemed confident so away I went. She instantly said that she doesn't want me to pay for anything (totally fine) and so we go dutch on drinks. I order a G&T while she orders a BOTTLE of prosecco. She proceeds to outdrink my single glass with her bottle and then orders a second 🤯. About an hour in at this point and the conversation and laughs are flowing. I can tell she's a bit tipsy and she excuses herself to go to the loo. When she returns she just grabs my face and starts full on making out with me....to the point where I have to tell her to slow down. She then straddles my knee and carries on kissing me. The bouncer comes over and tells her to chill. I start to think to myself "why does my knee feel wet?" She gets off my knee and we both look at the wet patch on my knee. She then proceeds to smirk and put my hand under her dress to demonstrate that she's not wearing any underwear 🤯🤯 We proceeded to leave the bar and she's pretty fucked at this point. I made sure she got an uber and gave her my number so she could text when she got back safely. As I'm typing in my number into her phone she whispers in my ear, "If I give you a grand will you let me shave you from head to toe?"....and pulls out a WAD OF NOTES from her bag 🤯🤯🤯 I just ushered her in to the uber and waited for a slurred text before blocking her 😅 I have some mad catfish stories.....Happy to share.
