The lovely Mrs. Zimmerman was played by the lovely Lucy Landau. Though born in England, she spent most of her life in Queens and died in 1990 at the age of 85 (she was 56 here.) As was the case with many actors in Car 54, she also acted in one episode of Hiken's other big hit, The Phil Silvers Show, three years before this. She acted on Broadway in addition to popping up on various TV shows as well as some movies, like "The Thrill Of It All," with Doris Day and James Garner. Her expression at the end of her performance here is very heartwarming and very typical of how the talented writers would close these wonderful stories.
i agree Art. Great writing. Check out Boom Boom Boom with Jan Murray. there's always 2 stories in each episode that tie into each others. Boom Boom will have you yelling, especially Katz the Butcher and His wife. Also Toody and Muldoons Crackdown. typical New Yorkers (of which I was one) gotta love it! Also check out Quite, we're thinking. The little boy Marvin also played Patty Duke's brother but the episode is hilarious. If you check out most of the major characters, the industry did good by Nat Hiken by placing most them in other sitcoms. I'm glad. Katz the Butcher in real life was Nat Hiken's cousin. You'll wind up creating a favorites playlist if you haven't already. I watch them every night (instead of Ferguson and head choppings over seas almost every day).
Absolutely brilliant!...
All of the actors in this show were funny, bring back the old days 😂
i got cramps of laughter. americans are so great in acting and laugh stories.
I remember these episodes so well. In the 80's it was on Nick At Night. Think I must have seen them all. Good old tv!
They couldn't have hurt themselves any worse if they had worked at it, what a hilarious segment, what creative writing, you just have to love it.
👍👍
THANKS UPLOADER!!!!!!!
Perfect comedic timing, thy name is Al Lewis.
And the lovely Mrs. Zimmerman closes it out!....

One German word best describes tootty . "DUMBKOFF" .
does anybody knows why these shows are cut in half?
Very funny .
They just don't make comedies like they use too!
that's good, it'd get very stale if we had the same type of comedy for 80 years.
Who is the actress singing at the end?
