I have done this trip a couple times back around 2003 and 2004, but in June and July, you were smart to do it early season. I was in an Eagle 19ft Step Tech Sport with 500hp and a 200 foot roost behind. The second time I did the trip I split it up in 2 days, first day Mara lake to just past Enderby where I scouted a boat launch. Day 2 i put in at the launch I found, there where a lot of salmon fisher men anchored in the corners of the river, I slowed down the best I could, and if possible even came off plane to go by them coming down river. Even though I was in a 70 plus mph boat I was just cruising at 40 mph on average and stopping to do some fishing myself. Anyways at 7:30 pm when I was loading up my boat there was a Lynch Mod of 15 people waiting for me, saying that jet boats where not allowed and only little aluminum boats with 15hp motors where allowed on the river. I told them that I was allowed on the river and the times I never came off plane to pass was because they had 3 or 4 boats anchored up in a corner Taking up the deep part of river forcing me to run the shallows to get by them. Anyways we got out of there without getting hung up off a tree limb. Never been back since. It is a beautiful run, just don't do it in the Prime summer months of June through Sept. I have a Mini center council Bratt Jet Trapper XL set up for fishing now, 215 hp Rotax was the doner Seadoo Challenger boat 2006.
A lot of variables in final price depending on initial boat kit options, whether you weld/ build it yourself, what engine power plant donor you use, and then finally how far and flashy you want to take the boat with coatings and electronics. Cheap 2 stroke donor and and a basic kit built yourself might be a little over $10k rough finished. On the ether end all fancy and big hp motor $60k ish
Mabel Lake is located in the interior of British Columbia, Canada. It lies east of the city of Vernon and northeast of the town of Lumby. The lake itself is a part of the Shuswap River system. This trip begins at the south end of the lake, heading upstream to the hydro electricity dam.
@@be.exploringThat looked fun, I bought a jet boat in 1987 to use on Missouri Ozark streams but have used it alot on the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers and at Lake of the Ozarks. I paid 2,500$ back then for the welded 16' johnboat, Evinude outboard with a jetpump lower and a trailer.
