I really like how black people describe rock and metal musicians. Empress said Lars was playing drums like his life depended on it. That's awesome. I watched this other reaction video and it was a black dude. It was Mr. Crowley by Ozzy and the guy goes, "He was playing that guitar like it owed him money". Great reactions, y'all. I'm lovin' it.
The world of heavy metal we grew up in decreed Metallica as one of the big major 'thrash' bands; next to the likes of Slayer and Anthrax and (as an offshoot) Megadeth. Energy and the riff and hyper-criticism was where it stood at; partially inspired by punk, the second wave of British heavy metal and a desire to be iconoclastic in an era of increasingly bland 'hair metal'.
I didn't realize till many years later the real message of this amazing song. All I knew was it Rocked, it was long and it was completely METAL. But watching people react to the song with the Lyrics... I learned just how epic this song really was/is. It goes from drug use then through the pains of full addiction, all the way through to the end to the Real Master behind the drugs.. Death. Amazing that 17-18 year old kids thought up this song and put it into such a musical Metal ride. It got me going back through their songs with lyrics and finding out that these guys are truly amazing artists and the songs i enjoyed over the years were masterpieces. "Better late than never" i Get it now in a completely different way!
They are phenomenally talented, and filled stadiums with barely any radio play back in the 80s. People call them Thrash, but I differentiate it as Speedmetal...take one look at the musical notation for this song in particular and you'll understand...there is a lot of precision in their playing, whereas Thrash is messy like punk, as is intended. This isn't my favorite song of theirs (that's "Creeping Death", from the previous album), but in the top 5. SO damn cool live, too, headbangers for sure.
I find it very refreshing and very authentic you will listen to whatever music and you FEEL it , you are obviously an empath , with a very pretty smile too ! Thanks for sharing .....I would be delighted to see you review any NF song ....mainly "if you want love" I bet you will melt
A song I can relate to. I have had years of alcohol, drugs, substance abuse. But mostly alcohol my 'Master Of Puppets'. I am now working towards going into rehab.
Say what you want about Lars his enthusiasm and passion is unmatched. There’s a reason they kept him around for 41 years. He is my favorite tiny cheesy brooding danish. could be worse ..he could be Axl Rose. I’m glad he’s OK now, but Lord have mercy the boy was a mess!
Love your accent. It's beautiful. And beautifully matched with a beautiful lady. Seattle is pronounced sea-attle. Just in case you wanted to know. Definitely not trying to be a grammar nazi. 🙃
When it gets really slow and nice it’s supposed to represent a high like heroin and when it starts breaking down heavy that’s supposed to be the angry and regret kicking in
Hi Empress... great reaction to one of Metallica's very best songs... BUT : For quite a while I am trying to convince you to react to Aurora, a 25 year old singer / songwriter from Norway. Could you please react to "Lucky - Live at Nidarosdomen" ? I promise you, you'll be mesmerized. She wrote this song at the age of 9 years and it really has deep and meaningful lyrics. So please check the artist and especially this song out. Best wishes from Germany : Gerry
You're not paying attention to how insanely good they can play an actual instrument. Blindly. Yeah Lars fks it up almost every show. But these guys are tight and compensate without most noticing. Metallica is the gr3atest. And holds more world records than most, and if I may stress, than any?!
lars Ulrich ...on the Best metal drummer...and maybe more 🤘🤘🤘 have to react to moby Dick Led zeppelin track...John Bonan show his allmigthy drum set 🤩🤩🤘🤘
Did I hear someone say D R U M S? Check this out Empress, 'Danny Carey | "Pneuma" by Tool (LIVE IN CONCERT)' This video is focusing on Danny in sight as well as slightly elevated sound of his Talents. You will not be disappointed. Peace/JT
Man, I would have listened to the album version with Cliff playing on it ... not a live version with Jason ..... dude. It's a masterpiece ... you don't listen to a masterpiece through a wall.
Yeah say that about death magnetic or hardwired. Sure they ar3 back trying new things are still thrash, metal. Can do it way better than these fkn millennials.
I will suggest White Zombie for your metal journey.La Sexorcisto and Astro Creep 2000 are their biggest albums.Make Them Die Slowly is an obscure but real banger also.
Hey darling time for Megadeth Holy Wars/ The Punishment Due .Their founder Dave Mustaine was an original member of Metallic a til he was replaced.Leading to him forming Megadeth. Thank God for that.

💯 Really! In what other genre do you see that? Punk, maybe. But metal takes it to a whole, other, more precise level.
As a drummer myself, I love when you get excited watching the drummers
The intro was their tribute to Cliff Burton who passed 3 yrs ago that time..
And it's a fragment of their instrumental TO LIVE IS TO DIE
The intro is called "To Live Is To Die", then they play "Master of Puppets".
“I love the drummer” my thoughts when I first heard them
