Lovely memories! "Get down to Our Price" I'd something I sing to this day. I remember that Ulster Television commercial with Frank Carson.

Interesting juxtaposition to see the Paul McCartney ad during a programme about Phil Spector, given his much-publicised objections to the arrangements Spector added to the Let It Be album. Mind you, I’m listening to the Broad Street version of the Long And Winding Road as I type this, you certainly wouldn’t describe it as raw or underproduced.
Also notable about that ad are that it’s not sponsored by a retailer like most ads for albums, and that it conspicuously doesn’t promote the album as a soundtrack, perhaps wisely as the film had been so poorly received. Also it cuts off abruptly in the word “record” (both times).
Otherwise it’s a very “executive” set of ads, particularly for non-business programming.

Back in 1985, I don't think supermarkets like Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda etc were available in Northern Ireland, I think not until the peace process of the mid 1990s before they came to Northern Ireland, so other products such as Macleans, Lucozade were valuable adverts for Ulster Television back then, and perfect cheap advertising fees for the companies.
