  • The new Huawei MatePad Pro is fantastic in many ways, great design, smooth performance, sharp display, and more. Are those enough to sway anyone? Not sure, it's still missing that important Google services that allow for Google Play store for example, so that could be a big issue. Nonetheless, I enjoyed using it for taking notes, watching movies, and general browsing and gaming.
    HUAWEI MatePad Pro 13.2” will come in two options and will launch in Europe from 22nd January (with pre-order from 8th January):
    MatePad Pro (12GB RAM, 256GB Storage): RRP €999
    MatePad Pro (12GB RAM, 512GB Storage and inbox keyboard): RRP €1199
    Smart Magnetic Keyboard: RRP €199
    HUAWEI M-Pencil (3rd Generation): RRP €99

    Would you buy one? Is Google services a dealbreaker?

    • @livinginharmony360
      @livinginharmony360 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Yes I would buy one. Not really a dealbreaker without Google because I wish reviewers would stop adding "Google services" in their title and reviews due to US ban that forced Huawei to prioritise their ecosystem with HMS and AppGallery, alongside sideloading apks and Huawei currently in the process of removing AOSP in the next version of HarmonyOS after 4.0 on pure HarmonyOS apps, so as a result, no more direct compatibility of Android apps, those would be in a form of a Virtual Machine sandbox app, the rest is just pure HarmonyOS apps built. Huawei global users gotten used to the arrangement for the last four years, you got workaround GBox, VMOS from AOSP tools like microG, Lighthouse etc.

    • @GadgetsBoy
      @GadgetsBoy  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Well I didn’t add it in the title. As a reviewer, it’s something you have to mention. You might be more advance and understand AOSP and side loading but you’ll be surprised at how many people don’t and don’t have time for that. For me as a tech guy, it’s easy and I can bypass it, but the average consumer can’t

      @@GadgetsBoyWhen i use iOS, i do not need gms. So why do i need it in HarmonyOS.
      And more, this OS is not android. It’s a multi-kernel system witch emulate android to enable apk apps.
      For the rest, android is just an open gnu/linux.
      Huawei did more for gnu/linux than Google.
      To finish, did you know why it look like android ?
      It’s beacause of Huawei’s file system and more, that all android is using…

    My review here: i ve been using it for almost a month and the tablet is very nice. Google services dont have native support but you can use an app like GBox to run them.
    What i dont like about the tablet other than google services issue is that it doesnt run games very smoothly, atleast not all of them. I tried to run fortnite but it is giving me only 30 frames. Asphalt 9 which is avaliable in huawei store crashes everytime you try to play.
    Other small things i dont like is that apparently you cantnot have widgets. So you wont be able to use widgets (other than system widgets of pre built apps), so your spotify/google search widgets wont be there. I hope they add the feature in an update soon.
    External Keyboard does the job well, but about the Pen , it is also very good but something i dont like about it is that it has touch buttons so if you tap the pen 2 times it ll switch your pen to eraser etc. But it only does it for pre puilt huawei pen apps. So you cant use it for appe like notewise ,ibspaint etc.
    Other than this dude covered almost everything , hey bte there is another version of the tablet aswell, the one i m currently using has 16Gigs of Ram and 1tb of storage. Anyways good video and hope this helped for someone who is interested in buying.
    Edit:
    •New update has brought widgets support. So you can now use any widgets from any app (Spotify / chrome etc).
    •Apps downloaded from gbox won't have widgets.
    •Asphalt 9 still has issue and doesn't work.
    • About the pen working only with huawei apps, I was wrong. It does works with apps that support it. You can maybe have a look on the internet to see which apps support it.

    How would you compare this against other premium Android tablets? Or maybe against the Tab S9 Ultra or OnePlus Pad? Other reviews seemed to be mixed about the battery life.

    • @GadgetsBoy
      @GadgetsBoy  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’d say this is high up there, but again no Google services in comparison

    Thank for your helpful review,
    However, does it support 120Hz in Call Of Duty mobile (which can be shown in the game’s setting) coz as i remember there is limited devices are supported by 120Hz like i Pad pro.

      From what i know and personally tested, only apple pro-promax, xiaomi, samsung, sony, redmagic and most snapdragon 8 gen 1 android phones can run 90-120fps on codm, but not all of them are supported.

    Kirin 9000s has same performance as snapdragon 888 a 4 year old chipset, so don't expect to game and emulate switch games here+ the google services issue + the price ... For Same price you can get the tab s9 with snapdragon 8gen2

    • @akoharold
      @akoharold 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      but the tab s9 only has the charger and pen, on the other hand, the matepad 13.2 will have the 3rd gen pen, detachable keyboard, mouse, office level wps, and freebuds pro 2 for free. aside from that, preorder can also choose between huawei watch gt 3 or huawei studio earphones which would all sum up to more than 600usd in freebies vs that one pen from samsung.
      besides, google apps still run quite well on the harmony os.

    When it comes to innovation huawei has have to offer if only there not sunction by the USA and the google. actually theyre are the competitor of samsung and iPhone and when it comes to the question if its worth it it does and functionality wise it gives more than what you need. huawei knows what really the mass consumer need..and Google is not a problem..more power to huawei.they don't rely on the others even they've been sunction not using the 5g.they make there own way..
