First you won't get Karolina just spinning the serve in to start a rally. secondly the depth of her shot will be difficult for Andreeva to hit winners, third Karolina's speed around the court is clearly hindered by the injury and movement is the key to matches.
Muchova did well to reach Semi-final of this tournament. Unfortunately her injury got the better of her and she had to retire from this match mid game. Rest well beautiful Muchova and recover fast. See you next season most likely.
@@einarsd4 I was rooting for Vika and Bia in 2022 and 2023. Only started noticing Muchova when watching her US open 2023 semi final against Coco. She looked beautiful with a (to quote a NY times journalist) sculpted physique. She has the most beautifully toned calves on the WTA tour. And then I spent the next 10 months waiting in vain for her return. I would say she has done extremely well upon her return from a major (major for top tennis players who blast the ball with so much power) surgery; SF for a GS and final for a 1000 and now SF for a 500. It's unbelievable after a major surgery. Major because it's bye bye to tennis if her wrist could not be salvaged. Rest well. You have done well since your return. You deserve a good break before the new season begins although it would have been nice to see you again in Tokyo. Hope you can, like in 2023, make the WTA finals in 2025. Waiting for your return, sweet, beautiful, modest and humble girl. I am glad so many of us love her and praise her for her beauty. Hope she reads our comments and lifts many trophies in 2025 and beyond.
Mirra's no longer using that right side baseline forehand underspin wc was often taken advantaged by her opponent to rush to the net. I noticed that she's now hitting topspin since Coach Conchita took over. She has improved a lot.
She still uses that slice forehand too much when she barely reaches the ball. I wish she would eliminate that shot and improve her court speed. I say this as a big fan of hers, and I hope she continues to improve. She is still very young, and if she can add more power to her game and improve the serve a little, she should be able to become a consistent top-five player. I agree that other top players have taken advantage of her slice forehand.
Muchova couldn't handle Mira's insanely fast play and powerfull shots that made Muchova push hard and injure her leg again. Mira is the future of Women's tennis.
Well Muchova is a phenomenal allrounder. She would play 3 matches in a row at a very high level, but then comes a complete break down of her game. That has happened to her at 5 times this year. She’s unable to hit 2 forehands in a row, losing to mediocre players. Hope she finds consistency and mental strength!

I don't really know what happened on court with Muchova. But Muchova's retire and the early retire of some other WTA players due to health issues just make me disappointed with current active players in general. It looks like they easily quit playing more rather fighting till the end despite physical illness and I really miss the big names like Serena, Venus, Li Na, .....

At China Open (1000), daria and mirra were outed in R2 and QF respectively while Karo reached the final. As per the commentator, Karo won 14 (5+6+3) of her last 16 matches, only losing at SF of US open 2024 and F of China open 2024. Her body is running on over time. Understandable. This tournament has sickening schedule. how the hell all matches were scheduled to start 3 pm local time. If I look at the China Open and Wuhan Open before this one, China Open has matches scheduled as early as 1 pm and Wuhan Open the earliest start were at 2 pm. Also I found in China Open they have never played a match that would not start after 6:30 pm local time

They don't have the well being of players at heart. All they care is making sure the schedule is convenient for fans and that they get their money's worth watching a few matches at one go.

bad day for my current 2 favs - WTA 500 in China >> Badosa we know has a bad back and at any time that can / probably will give out. She will be doing good to stay in top 15 for a couple years. (thou weren't they doing Cardio tests - blood pressure / pulse - that is what it looked like to me. odd.) K.Muchova - . the announcer said not wrist but it sure looked like at the end a couple of Her shots were beginner level fluffs.... I see 2 possibles - first , the wrist is still bad, hurting when hitting the ball - IF so , WHY is She playing ? > second - bad Cardio /physical shape. which would be a bad circumstance to me. K.M. had a wrist problem , not knee. She SHOULD be in top cardio /physical condition. Yet there it was, half thru a semi final of a WTA 500 , after having skipped the tournament before - dropping out. WHY ?
Top tennis players have a tough life. They push their fragile bodies beyond reasonable limits. Someone commented beautiful Muchova is made of glass. It's funny but I feel very sad because I like her and enjoy watching her very much.
I watch as much WTA tennis as anyone I know and it is very strange that so many women retire when they are losing. With some gals, it happens way too often. It is almost as if some of them would rather quit if they feel they will lose. I am not suggesting in any way that Muchova was not injured. Like many women on tour, she has dealt with a lot of injuries during her career. I just think it makes you a little suspicious of some women when it happens so often. I would rather see some of them retire before the match when they know they are dealing with a serious injury.........rather than wait until they start losing before throwing in the towel.

After prolonged injury, she won 12 out of 14 matches. This was too much physically and mentally - tiredness, not strength.
She played a lot of matches at high level and she rarely lost to anyone outside of top 20 since her return in June.
