Also, the names themselves are often self-explanatory or at least give a good idea of the abilities a Zanpakutō has if you speak Japanese. Take Zangetsu for example. It roughly means "Moon crescent". Guess what's Ichigo's go-to ability? The Getsugatenshō which looks very much like a moon crescent. The Getsuga also means "heaven-piercing moon fang", which kinda hints at the fact that it's an extremely strong ability (which is accurate). In the case of Kenpachi (one of Ichigo's previous battles), it's mentioned that his Zanpakutō has no name. As we saw in TYBW, that's not true. He just couldn't hear her yet (Nozarashi). Ironically, White never teaches Ichigo any moves directly. Ichigo only copies what he saw him do when they fought in his inner world. Take the blade spin he did right before stabbing the Sōkyokū's "pedestal" (forgot the correct word), the Getsugatenshō in Bankai, the point-blank Getsugatenshō, etc.
