I've just been offered a job in Fujairah. I'm from England so I'm nervous about travelling to the middle East but excited. I don't know anyone out there.

I think the nervousness is completely natural and anyone heading overseas to live or teach feels the same way. Sometimes the best part of living abroad is arriving somewhere totally foreign to you - you don't know anyone, you don't know where to find anything, you don't know the streets or highways, etc.. It can be a bit intimidating yet very exciting! Eventually you meet locals and fellow travelers/teachers and begin to settle in. Usually you'll find a restaurant or cafe that has something really delicious, and it'll become your favorite place to eat. You'll become friendly with a server or bartender who will give you pointers to find something, or advice on the best places to shop. Before you know it you'll become more familiar with the city, know where to find everything you need, and learn some of the local customs.
If you've considered it, you can do it. If working abroad wasn't something you could handle, you would have never considered it in the first place. :)
