- “Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth...”
These verses from Surah An-Nur begin with the metaphor of Allah’s light, comparing it to a niche with a shining lamp enclosed in glass, fueled by a blessed olive tree. This light represents divine guidance, illuminating the hearts of the faithful and leading them to truth and righteousness. Allah’s light transcends time and space, guiding those who seek it in both the heavens and the earth.
In contrast, those who reject faith are described as being in layers of darkness, lost in confusion and despair, without hope of finding light. It’s a reminder that without Allah’s guidance, the soul remains in spiritual blindness, wandering in misguidance.
These verses encourage us to reflect on how we can invite Allah’s light into our lives through faith, sincerity, and good deeds, and avoid the darkness of disbelief and misguidance.
