Young Justice is an American superhero animated television series developed by Brandon Vietti and Greg Weisman for Cartoon Network. Despite its title, it is not a direct adaptation of Peter David, Todd Dezago and Todd Nauck's Young Justice comic series, but rather an original story set in the DC Universe with a focus on teenage and young adult superheroes.
The series follows the lives of teenage superheroes and sidekicks, namely Robin, Kid Flash, Aqualad, Superboy, Red Arrow, Miss Martian, and Artemis, who are members of a fictional covert operation group referred to simply as 'the team' (but bear resemblance to the Teen Titans). Within the show, the team is a group of young heroes attached to the famous adult team, the Justice League, but operating outside of the bureaucracy that constrains the more established superhero team. The main setting is a fictional universe apart from the previous DCAU and other continuities (designated at one point as Earth-16) during a time period in which superheroes are a relatively recent phenomenon, and supervillains have all began working in tandem in a grand conspiracy on behalf of a cabal of key villains known as The Light.
The series debuted with an hour-long special on November 26, 2010, with the airing of the first two episodes, "Independence Day" and "Fireworks". Young Justice premiered on September 9, 2011, on Teletoon, in Canada. After airing its second season, titled Young Justice: Invasion, the series was canceled alongside fellow DC Nation show Green Lantern: The Animated Series in the second quarter of 2013.
On November 7, 2016, Warner Bros. Animation announced that the series would be returning for a third season, titled Young Justice: Outsiders, which premiered on January 4, 2019, on DC Universe. On July 20, 2019, series creators Vietti and Weisman announced at San Diego Comic-Con that DC Universe had renewed the series for a fourth season. On September 12, 2020, it was revealed that the fourth season would be titled Young Justice: Phantoms; "The Prize", an audio play that takes place between the events of the third and fourth seasons, was performed on DC FanDome on the same day. In September 2020, it was announced Young Justice would be moving to HBO Max; The first two episodes of the fourth season were released on October 16, 2021 on HBO Max.

Shiva killing her own troops in that moment is probably the most effective I've seen that trope in a long time.

This episode actually went pretty well like this fight in the dark scene.
I love the look Shiva gives Artemis before throwing her weapon. Like "Did this bitch try to sneak a second knife in our fight? Enough of the insult"
This is probably my favorite YJ fight scene of all time- such a cool concept for the final confrontation, and the music and animation are both *chef’s kiss*
Man I'm so glad this season gave more screen time of Lady Shiva and Cassandra. Love their back stories and their relationship dynamics. They should have their own animated mini series.
Damnnnn. What an amazing episode that was. YJ is probably going to surpass JLU as my favorite animated show.

That robot’s name is Rictus. This version is female. In the comics, Rictus is a member of the League of Assassins ( of shadows in the show)

Not going to lie I feared for Artemis’s life when she told Cass to switch. Lol Shiva even put her own sword down, I thought she was going for her famous one hit death punch/stab 🤣
Edit: I originally wanted more of a solo fight between Cass & Shiva but in the context of the show it definitely works. I just like the fact that nobody other than Cass was able to hit Shiva, as it should be. They don’t have anybody else there on her level. Shade helping was key, without him they all dead pretty much.

@@arunr4407 Maybe everyone except Cass lol. Cass already beat Damian a few times pre-52. They haven’t had much interaction after that cos Cass got push to the wayside by Didio. However Damian did just lose to Connor Hawke in his own solo series, and Cass beat Connor multiple times pre-52 as well. & it seems like the pre-52 universe is being re-established cos Connor is back and Cass is Batgirl.

I love that characters were popping left and right from different angles; And those pans & zooms and those dutch angle shots-- conveying like everything was happening so fast and frantic, it makes you woozy.

Why is nobody talking about how bloody powerful Shade is. We dont even know everything he is capable of for now in this universe, in some versions hes even stronger than Spectre. When the room was completely dark and he vanished, my first thought was *oh boy, you do not want to be in a completely dark room with him* youre as good as dead honestly, everyone could have died in that room if he wished it.

I love how the moment things got serious (trick blade) Shiva demolished Artemis in exactly 4 moves.
One thing I wanna mention is Onyx here. The shadows pawned her away and gave her every reason to wanna leave just because she wasn't a monster . The problem is they completely underestimate her at every turn . You straight up turned on a woman who seemingly must have been one of Ra's star pupils and a super heros granddaughter or at least they never really had a good sense of what she was capable of just that she isn't a good liar and doesn't like senseless murder .
Hope She cuts off Cass's arm for real assuming that stomp didn't take her eye for real .

In season 3, Cheshire helped Shade get out from Mad Hatters control due to the mind chip thingy. He really did owe her one which is why it was sort of predictable he would help at some point.

The creators want to continue it its just HBO Max has bought Young Justice's contract (as HBO has bought the streaming rights to most Warner Bros content) and they aren't renewing it so get people to watch this on HBO Max or all the work we did to get this back this first time will be for nothing

@@prideguy3233 She and Cassandra are tied pretty evenly for number 2 but if we're talking pre-New 52 then Shiva was 3 and Cass was 2 since her solo series pretty firmly established her as the better fighter of the two. Also if you want to get technical the best fighter in ALL of DC is a Legion of Super-Heroes character named Karate Kid who is a master of literally every form of martial arts ever created up to the 31st century.

She managed to absolutely floor Kara (Supergirl), I mean Kara wasn’t expecting it but she’s still a kryptonian. She also trained Bruce and nursed him back to health after Bane broke his back.

You know what I love about this fight? (Aside from the obvious) besides Black Spider every major participant here is a woman, yet the show never feels the need to address it or flaunt its feminism. It’s just show badass women be badass and I love that.

Was a kids show but even when it was quite dark but it's because it's in production by a streaming service now
Is a show for young audiences, in any case, every kid show back in the day had complex issues, violence moments and parody, and only when It had explicity sexual scenes, a too complex reference or delicate issue, and hardcore mutilations it was consided an adult show. Just because today people make trash TV shows for kids like If today kids were retard or could get traumatized for a bit of blood, doesn't make it normal or okay. Just look al the childhood of every kid in the 90's to around 2008, and you will see, today there are just a few shows that remains that serious.

I don't really remember how kid-friendly it was back then, but I just checked and apparently season 1 episode 1 aired in 2010. 11 years ago. It's possible it started out more tame, and evolved as the audience inevitably grew more mature.
