Well done Aoife, Fern and Blythe, you've mad a great video highlighting a serious problem not just in Galway but all around the country, liked and shared. Hope it gets fixed soon.
Hey Blythe it's Aoife G. Great video and the county council should really do something about that i have seen the hole many times and it does look quite dangerous.
Love it - excellent job! Go Viral: find out what towns the three rotters live, seek out other students there, ask them to host small preview for their friends and family so that the neighbors of R.G. Greene, P Sweeney and T Considine can see first hand what kind of crap neighbors they've been to you and give them all a little stick, perhaps even disgrace them enough to dig deep into conscience and find a way to leave the land in as they found it instead such shameful state. You go girls!
FABULOUS WORK KIDS!! Congratulations on your fine work to call attention to this disgrace in your back garden!! I hope it helps you get some good results so you'll have a playground and fields for games! Meanwhile, keep out of the HOLE!!
This is a great example of three girls engaging in community action. They are a credit to their parents and their community. The camera work and words are great quality too.
It's nearly a year since a toddler drowned in a similar crater in Westmeath. Do we have to wait for the same thing to happen to get our local politicians and Galway County Council to get this hole filled in. This site is dangerous and it is not acceptable that the Galway Co Council are fobbing us off..... Well done Aoife, Fern and Blythe.
Shame on Mr Green and Mr Considine! If these men are too poor to develop the property then I hope their consciences will encourage them to sell these plots of land to someone who has the money to develop and enhance the community. There has got to be some honest land owners in Ireland who would be proud to make a contribution to the community with additional homes, shops or parks on these lots. Thank you Aiofe, Fern and Blythe for ask these men to be accountable for their incomplete work.
One thing is for sure, the guys who build the estate aren't living next to this... crazy that there are no laws or insurance in place to cover this eventuality and that an estate can be sold off without being declared safe for the residents to live in. Someone at the council can do something about this - they just haven't bothered their arse.
Certainly Mr Green and Mr Considine should be ashamed of themselves as human beings! I have no doubt that they could well afford to sort out the problem but choose not to. Why not raise awareness about this in connection with their businesses and ask their suppliers/customers to boycott them until something is done?
Very well done. I've recently moved to the area and would love to see something done. Have you considered the possibility of crowdsourcing funds to take action? Check out a site called fundit.ie. You might think it's a stretch, but if 100,000 people donated 5 euro, you'd have a significant amount of money. And 100,000 is less than half the population of Co. Galway. You could even sweet talk Tesco into donating some of their massive reserve of rubble to use as landfill. Win, win.
You should get your dads to round up all the council workers who are ignoring this and throw them into the hold and keep them in there until they agree to do something. They have the power to solve this, but they couldn't be bothered because they don't see working for the public as part of their job. If you want this done quickly , just grab the managers, the front line staff are good people. They just have bad managers.
"Child drowned...impaled....trapped down open manhole": The actions of the people responsible for this 'death-trap-crater' will determine if these headlines ever come to pass. Lets get this filled in. Now. And let's move on. Do the right thing fellas.

With very little work it could make a nice park or woodland. (It looks like it's already got a pond).
Can you post email / regular mail addresses for Mr Green, Mr Considine, and Galway Council?
Well done girls great to see all the hits too
Absolutely shocking that this is allowed to happen.
Come on Green, Considine and Galway County Council...SORT IT OUT!
Brilliant movie, well done girls.
Well done girls, community activism at its best. Hope you get a positive outcome.
A terrible story which needs to be told and this is a great way to tell it.
Well done girls - great video. I hope ye get your wish and something is done about "the hole"
Dig big holes in Mr Greens back garden and see how he likes it.
