I have to be honest, one thing that’s always bugged me about skate games is when you do a 180 your skater’s orientation is still the same. The feet positioning, the facing backwards towards the camera, even tho it’s only for a moment it just doesn’t look natural. Seems to still be the case judging from the gameplay I’ve seen so far. Still hoping they’ll make some adjustments tho.
Well I think that precisely in this game, this has been improved. On the other hand what it bugs me so much is the motion in the 180 or 360. In irl, you never end up doing it that clean, the motion in every jump is different. Most of the times you will be correcting your positioning cause of it. Anyway, I think from a general perspective, it has been improved quite a bit. Skate 3 was clean for it's time and in this one it feels like they want to keep the roots of their previous games, a midway between realism and fiction.

Plus the following trick was a switch kickflip but was registered as a nollie kickflip due to this very issue. I hope you can understand my point.

They’re choosing to listen to the community so why not point out areas where the game can improve in its realism, right? The game is still a ways off and my hopes are still very much high.

Dude yes that looks like one of the best parts. Managing your stance in skate 3 was so annoying, especially when it would take your ability to setup for a trick randomly for the animation of it changing stance to switch without warning
Cant wait to see the landing inputs bigger drops the more the players knees bend. Id love of they added a preset when you jump a big stair set or something you hit so hard your skater almost falls. Like has to regain balance after he lands

my honest opinion after seeing skater xl footage with mods and stuff, I would prefer an absolute hardcore realistic mode for skate 4 where you are not getting pulled into grinds and all sorts of stuff like this. Just realistically unforgiving for people to make nice clips and appreciate realistic lines better
The only thing they have wrong is the Counter Rotation/Rotation for rail/ledge tricks, when you turn your board with the left stick it should be easier to come out 180, and when you turn your board with the right stick it should roll away the same stance you originally popped the trick from. Besides that great game
I'm glad EA is working on the machan itch's first they really are trying to make skate have a big comeback now I hope they work harder on the graphics but I'll be glad as long as skate is good
Even in skate3 there was a certain balance mechanic, ex. You could end up scraping your tail during manuals and you could shift your weight left or right during slides. But i agree that it could be much better.
@@cuissetopher9474 yeah only if you pulled back too much or forward but if you get into the manual you can practically manual the whole map haha aslong as you can keep the speed , would just make it look more realistic like session has more board balance and movement on grinds etc just makes edits look good 👍
It’s a really hard tactic. It’s called the Plug-in method. If you plug in your controller to your PC, it should recognize the controller and it should work. 9 out of 10 doctors recommends this.
So I have a genuine question. All the videos ive seen are "switch" is there an option for regular stance yet? I never see people revert either when skating fakie. Are these not features in the build yet?
the game currently works like how skate 1/2 did where it sets you back into goofy for some reason. i am usually regular but the game just won't let me be lol
@Jordan H I agree, Skate is king but SXL would be great if they fleshed it out more. I'd just love to play Skate in all it's glory with the 2 foot controls, I'd never play any other game again lol

I've noticed a lot of the trick names are wrong. Like it calls tricks nollie when you use the nose as the tail. eg at 0:07 it says nollie kickflip and then nose manual when it's really just a switch ollie/nose manny with the board backwards. I'm sure they'll fix it, just interesting
That's pretty floaty I'll be honest. But it looks a lot better than the space gravity of vanilla skater xl and all the other skate games. Even hardcore setting wasn't realistic just harder to land certain tricks
Well so far, viewing skate 4 content, I haven’t witnessed a 13ft Ollie from flat with slow under water type descend. As a console player I’m very much looking forward for this! :)

My only complaint is he looks too stiff when he lands, even on a small drop the knees should bend more
It should also cause some kind of "delay" so you can not just ollie into your next trick.

Downloaded pre version and it worked good, closed it and came back 15 minutes to play again and it didn't open ever again, lol
