I fully agree, this movie is only enjoyable for 6 year old girls with a princess fetish.
It certainly isn't suited for the teenage crowd.
What I miss in Disney nowadays is the scary imagery and true villains that they used to have.
Scar, Ursula, Jafar.....those were the villains that left a lasting impression.
    And Hans? Not so much.
I for one always loved The hunchback of Notre Dame for it's serious themes, dark imagery and realistic villain.
It's too bad they don't make Disney movies like that anymore.
Nowadays it must all look......cute, pretty and bland

My sister would think that Disney is making movies that appeal to China. I solely believe that Disney is trying to use machines to prove what sells and what doesn't, and some movies these days feel artificial rather than genuine art to me.

What really ticks me off about Frozen is how Disney treats it like it's the best thing since sliced bread. News flash, Disney, it's not. And a sequel to it is supposed to come out this November. Don't even get me started on the hatred for Olaf's Frozen Adventure.
On November 22nd, 2017, parents were outraged at the fact that 20-something minute short was shown before Coco. The audience didn't want to watch Olaf, who is the dumbest excuse for a snowman character I have ever seen in my life, prance around for 20 minutes. They wanted to see Coco, and that was it.
The fact Walt Disney Pictures put that lazy short in front of their critically acclaimed Pixar movie of 2017 in the theater just shows how greedy and money hungry they've become with the Frozen franchise, to begin with.

    • @CaitCher

I know this is obviously old, but I do agree that people can take things too far. We already have this movie and 2 shorts taking place after this movie, one of them being released in front of Coco in order to earn more cash from it. @@artbytesia well, the gargoyles at least were always there for Quasimodo because he was forbidden from interacting with other people. That doesn’t change how corny they were at times, especially their “love” song to convince Quasi Esmerelda has the hots for him, but unfortunately she doesn’t love him that way. And I found it weirder they’re NEVER alive around Esmerelda or Phoebus, not counting Hugo and Jolly. And you’d think they’d be ok letting them know they can become alive because they’re Quasi’s new friends. Similar to how Grandmother Willow trusted John enough to reveal apparently trees can talk in Pocahontas’s world.
While yes, the trolls only purpose for existing in the story is purely about Kristoff’s past. They weren’t even a thing until Elsa wasn’t the villain anymore, and in several cultures trolls are known to be nothing but complete jerks towards humans. Legit their song actually kinda made me dislike Anna and Kristoff as a couple because of how cringy it is. It doesn’t even have anything to do with “you’re in love, you just don’t know it yet!” Instead its “don’t try to change someone, love them as they truly are” Ok?? Anna and Kristoff never tried changing each other….

It’s really sad how a lot of people forget Pocahontas was the first princess to stop a war before Mulan, but then again I feel Pocahontas is underrated, and sadly it’s mainly because its based on an awful and unfortunately real story. She doesn’t have to be craving power like Scar or Hades to be threatening, or even Frollo burned an entire city just to get laid. She’s terrifying because she does everything she could to keep Rapunzel satisfied through giving her paint supplies and other things to keep herself busy as shown in the first song. But the moment Rapunzel defies her, she immediately uses reverse psychology. Legit the reprisal of Mother Knows Best is probably still one of my favorite Disney villain songs ever because of how chilling it is, trying to convince Rapunzel how foolish she is to believe she doesn’t need mother coddling her anymore, and all Flynn is going to do is break her heart.

@@kristinahuchison2511 I haven't watched the series, mostly because of the fact I'm not that fond of the movie. But I do get what you're saying; my main beefs is that she does all that pretty much just for LOOKS. Why go so far just for that? Since when is losing your beauty the end of the world? It just makes her seem to me like a baby that can't accept the fact that as you get older, you lose your beauty. In other words, far-fetched.
If there had been some kind of backstory, or at least a bit of fleshing out about her motive, then maybe I would understand better. But no.

@@1992disney yep. Unfortunate I doubt Tangled will get another movie, seeing the series (which is so underrated, yet so amazing) was the sequel. Which stinks given how popular Rapunzel and especially Flynn are as Disney characters. Like I don’t even get what they’ve got in mind for Frozen 3 unless it’s making Elsa the actual villain this time, or unless its Anna and Kristoff becoming parents, and maybe resparks interest to make more kids like Melody, Jane and Zephyr?
But yeah, Frozen’s success is very largely from little kids obsessed with Queen Elsa and Let it Go. Tbh I was pretty disappointed when I saw Frozen lol. Legit Tangled is so much better (literally my second favorite movie) and if they swapped years they came out, Frozen would’ve been crushed by the tough competition Tangled had. Like Toy Story 4 and the Buzz Lightyear movie were literally cash grabs from how successful Toy Story 3 was. And I’m pretty disappointed they’re making ANOTHER movie, given I know a lot of people didn’t like 4, because it forced Woody and Buzz apart, when 3 had the perfect ending of Andy giving his toys to Bonnie, hence when Andy’s story ended, so did Toy Story.
Legit the last Disney movie that really wowed me was Tangled, I did enjoy Moana, Raya and Encanto, but none of them really wowed me. Frozen is flat out overrated to the point I kinda hate it because I always felt the plot was a huge mess and it took others a while to finally see the flaws.

Give Hercules some credit the story is kinda dumb but it's still a decent Kids film because the Moral is easy to understand. With Frozen I have no idea what the moral is????? Is it that you shouldn't trust strangers??? I guess, but that only relates to Anna, but what about Elsa???? You would think that because Elsa is acting like an emo for the whole movie, that Maybe there should be a moral about depression or not bottling up your emotions , but no there isn't. I feel like there should be! Not mention the film doesn't do a good job explaining things, which is kinda a problem for a kids film.

What makes the Jungle Book, Hercules, and Tangled so great despite not being faithful to the books, that they don't take them selves too seriously and embrace their simplicity. Frozen is asking to feel sorry for Elsa despite not explaining important details.
