After what Gary said (in Colorado) I feel good about where the music and callouts are going with this game. This could turn out to be a huge comeback situation. Thanks for listening to your customers Stern
Initial thoughts as someone who owns 6 newer Sterns. The playfield and gameplay looks Amazing. Danger room is definitely Dangerous. They hit the nail on the head with the theme on this one. I strongly dislike the AIQ type animation. It is 2024 and we deserve better than pictures zooming on a early 2000's power point presentation. Not digging the music or callouts (Sentinel callouts are good, but the rest not so much), but maybe they grow on you...Maybe? A little too monotone for that background music. I love the flow and multiple wire forms. Tons of things to shoot at and the Sentinel hand flicking the ball back is really cool. I definitely can't wait to play it.
Have to agree, animations could use something extra and the voice work is pretty hit and miss. I like the music fine, but dang that looks like a fun table to play. It really roughed up these guys though.
@@robbishreal For sure. John Wick has better video scenes and music. They need to be thinking all aspects of the game. I know they're capable of it. My Black Knight SOR has beautiful animations and look at Jurassic Park. The zooming images are really lame on this.
Stern please change the elevator type music as the main gameplay. Things like that are critical to the overall game. The general pinball buying population are all saying the same thing. I have faith you guys will add things like that to make this game rock
Game looks super cool - my only real issue is wishing characters sounded like the X-men 97/OG cartoon voice actors, especially Gambit and Storm - but I’m sure that would have been hard to swing. Still cool that you added the show’s theme though!
@@KooperTrooper at least channing Tatum sounded like he’s been within a 10 mile radius of Louisiana. This voice actor sounded like Rhode Island Gambit lol
I would love to see Waison go back and finish the code on the first X-Men pinball table put out by Stern in 2013. Lacks a final wizard mode that results in the table hitting a "dead end" where the heroes and villains don't reset back to unlit. Please fix this @Stern!
The cabinet and playfield art look gorgeous but I just don't understand the animations on screen being so ugly... Besides the Wolverine x Sabertooth mode, some of the drawings looks like the have crossed eyes or really bad proportions...
I needed to see how a $7000-$13000 pin shoots and flows with an overview of the rules and mech interactions. Instead…we get to see guys in costumes which limited their ability to play…cool (oh look, he’s got a T-shirt stuffed in his tights…hilarious). They seemed unprepared and unwilling to introduce their product; really bush league production given the MSRP. I’m left with the impression that this has no flow with a lot of air balls off the sentinel (see a PF cratered and chipping in a few months) with subpar music and callouts. Definitely sapped my enthusiasm and increased my interest in Avatar.
I don't know if I love or hate this game.. I prefer a midfield flipper and not a fan of the constant interruptions in gameplay. Either way The LE will be in my game room the moment it ships.
Still on the fence. Bit too much bricking and shots not going through to completion which is something I was concerned about. A lot play was focused on bashing that head which got boring real fast. But... I think my opinion may change when I get a chance to have a solid few games on it.
Why does the HUD with the basic info (score, ball# etc) go away everytime anything else happens? It’s an issue with most lcd games. While I’m playing, I want to be able to quickly look up to check this basic info, but over half the time, it’s gone. There is plenty of room on the screen to just leave up the HUD, so is there some kind of reason? To me it feels like poor information density to have all of this (in this case, bad) animation on the screen instead of the state of the game.
One thing i love about Alien is the center post saves, its really satisfying. All the parts i do not like will hopefully get sorted: - Music -Callouts - Animations. In some parts its slick abd in others my cat could draw better 🤣
I don't look much at the videos unless it's integral to do so. Thus, I don't care about animations. Besides, the frames transition nicely and they have a good comic book "feel" (cf. Immortal Crusade 2, old flash game). Thanks.
Looks great. Seems the head will take a real beating in some time and possibly look really bad. Wondering if there is anything to prevent this built in?
If this is how it plays for the designer and dude who's "been playing this a lot" and "job is to know the game inside and out" I have real concerns about my ball times! Yikes.
would just like to add to the chorus of voices asking for a music change. It feels far too low tempo and sleepy. Felt more like menu select music than main theme jazz you up music.
Looks brutal but hard to say due to code, costumes getting in the way, rules not finished so not sure if bot progressing on purpose or because its gard
Stern. You almost got me with an impulse merchandise buy. 30 is steep for a T-shirt but $17 shipping on top is ridiculous. Pass.. LOVE THE COOL SHIRT DAVE HEGGE!!
Playfield looks very cool but I'm concerned about the code. We all know it's unfinished but at least tell us what it's going to be. As cool as the game looks I think this stream probably un-sold more machines than it sold. Edit: also PLEASE improve the animations and music. They feel like placeholders. The layout is modern and fresh, the code is flat and dated.
Why have the far left flipper if you never get to use it? This is so weird. I don’t know how you rework this table so late in the game but… the generic animations, music issues that I would shut off… I want to like it but.
I'm just gonna be honest, the music is bad (aside from the brief excerpts from the X-Men theme). I hope it will change with code updates. The game looks fun and I'm excited to receive the game I ordered. But that music.... so bad.
Disappointed. Wanted to get this as a show piece for my new shop, but probably won’t now. Was hoping for better with the animations, and especially the voices! Couldn’t you have gotten a better Gambit?! 😂 Only really heard him and Logan and both were bad enough to put me off 😢
Agree with everyone else...and as a LE buyer who's currently paid, im seriously considering moving my $ to a different machine (non Stern)...that main theme that represents the 80s is god awful and does NOT fit the theme or make me want to play this. I hope George G. And the stern folks read these
The animationas look horrible! Cant believe they look so bad. Everything else looks and soinds good. But the animations feel very TH-cam parody battle-ish
The game looks fun! I agree that the play music is pretty boring except when the cartoon riff comes on. Are some of those animations place holders? Some look good and the others pretty crappy. Also that Gambit voice is terrible! I could fake a better cajun accent.
music and callouts are a no buy for me, it doesn't look like you are fighting to save the world more as dora is exploring the world with this music, I would have like the music to be more intense and more grabbing as in venom, aiq, dp or alien, also in the danger room, no pinball moments as far as i can see so unfortunate I really waited for a theme like this
The Bad: Background Music before starting missions is awful, Animations are cheap and boring, A Kirk post is difficult to adapt to, so for many it makes for even more drains. The costumes. (Loose the costumes and give a good demo of the game instead). Theme sucks (For me personally and for many non-Americans). Code is early. More explaining would be good instead of just playing and constantly draining. The good: Layout looks very fun and is different. At least the ramp shoots looks doable. Artwork is excellent. Danger Room. It seems to not be as dirt cheap (BOM), as many Sterns of late. All in all, a bit dissapointed in gameplay and overall feel with sound effects and music. Please loose all gloves and costumes for the next stream and as Mr Ritchie says: PLAY BETTER!
Not a Zilla Killa. That being said game looks fast and fun but call outs seem a bit weak. Similar to AIQ in that regard. Not sure about that danger room. Was initially excited about it but now seeing it live it seems to be a pain during multi ball and a bit of a drain monster. Still interested to try it before giving it a legit grade.

They have the X-Men theme song!
