Took 4 years to restore my GT/E Coupe back to OEM spec, well worth it in the end, great project, looks in decent condition to start with, panels and parts do pop up for sale on e bay if you are prepared to wait, OMOC also a good source of spares. Good luck with it.
Got an Opel Kadett Gsi 16V myself, but love the Manta a lot, and how well it is kept, and starting up and driving after so long is just bonkers!! Take good care of it man!
I had one of these in the late 80's after two Capri's. Liked the fact that the car was so different and more powerful than the Capri's (2ltr GL and a 2ltr Ghia), but prefered the driving position of the Fords. Had it for about 4 months then traded it in for a TVR, then the real fun started!
TVR Tasmin, only the 2.8 but still great fun. Only downside it loved the inside of garages too much, always something going wrong, but always put a smile on my face.
Opel manta one of the best driving cars I have had about 8 of them couple of 1.8 belinetta coupe countless GTE coupe 3 exclusive coupe but my favourite my i200 coupe 👌👍
Just over 20 years ago I had a 1980 Manta. It had the 2-litre CIH engine with twin dual Dellorto carbs, tube header and 5-spd Getrag gearbox. It made about 140hp on the dyno, which was fairly decent as a stock one had 100hp. Was pretty quick for the time.
@@RetroRob4 I had an Ascona B and I drove it in the snow too that was also fun . They are so well balanced that I could steer it will a little input on the steering wheel and the gas pedal. Man i gotta get one of these , no matter if it's a Manta or Ascona.

All the old school cars are fetching crazy money now, about 15 years ago I sold my escort cosworth for £8000😪 and a Sierra Cosworth for £5000 if I had kept them i would be rich lol
Iv x2 coupes gte exclusives , in storage for years , don’t know what to do with them both . Just sitting there doing nothing. Do know why the hex I bought them. Not hatch backs , coupes in same colour.
Same above , mint , also on no rust what so ever around the sun roof , also iv got two exclusive gte hatches in dolphin grey also in storage mint other needs recommissioned. And tonnes of parts and also running gear the lot 😂
Lol your got a right collection, will only go up in value , hatches dolphin grey is a nice colour , your lucky to have spares, I find it really hard to find parts for mine , if it was a mk1/ mk2 escort it's easy .
