Thank- you very much Nao Sogabe! I have spent this evening listening to your beautiful music with my elderly father on our back verandah with the dark night and the gentle sound of crickets chirping. My problems are less when I listen to your music. Bless you and bless your family. You are a real treasure. Your music is a beautiful prayer.
I stumbled upon one of your videos and now I use it everyday to listen... I have severe issues with sounds and I feelt hurt by them a lot but it is so relaxing to listen to you playing on your channel. Thank you!
Your music is transcendent! It makes me feel very present and high. I don’t want to do anything or think about ordinary thoughts when I listen to your playing. It elevates my consciousness. Thank you for your gift and dedication. Blessings ❤
The sun shining overhead, with a cool breeze gliding along the grasslands. The soft shush of the wind, as your fingers glide along the waist high grass. As birds soar high overhead, and the smell of home eases your weary heart, you close your eyes and hear the world be. Love and prosperity to you all.
I first heard Oud music listening to Hamsa el Din. Then I found John Bilizekjian. And now Nao Sogabe! This is truly beautiful and fills me with peace. Thank you, and may God bless you.
@@NaoSogabe I too began my journey with Hamza el Din and found my way to your compositions. Your grace and depth are second only to your transcendence. Bravo...!
I discovered your channel by chance on my personnal path to learn japanese, and it's now accompanying me on most sessions, and when I need to relax and get in a meditative state ... I post it here because this specific oriental piece was a true delight. Thank you for what you give !
Oud produces tunes of beautiful melancholy, it gives you a feeling of pleinitude and emptiness in the same time, it's an instrument to cure the heart subjectively.
Thanks! The Xiphos doesn't just hang there, but I play it. Please have a look at the playlist “Rock & Metal”: th-cam.com/video/MqcQjjt00sg/w-d-xo.html&pp=gAQBiAQB

A relief from the crap we're bombarded with day in and day out. What does this say about me, I never get tired of this? I'm afraid to leave this, will I miss something?

I love your technical style. What Oud musicians have you drawn inspiration from? This is very captivating and has inspired a few things in my playing. Thank you for sharing your love for this ancient instrument and with us. Kind regards ✨️
Thank you so much! I don't want to name a specific oud musician. In any case, I use many elements from my Japanese tradition. The timings between phrases, notes etc. come mainly from the Japanese tradition. By the way, there are many similarities in the ornaments in both cultures. ❤ I like oud music and European lute music alike. Yours is the most beautifully ornamented oud I have yet seen. Fretless is good, but difficult. Do those markings on the neck help you to place pitches?
Many thanks for your great feedback! Only many practices make it possible to touch the notes precisely. As you can see in the video, the neck of the instrument is far in front of us. We can't see the fingerboard at all. The ornaments play no role at all. I usually play with my eyes closed and can't see the instrument anyway...
Your work is majestic! I stumbled on this channel, and it's like finding a master craftsman who freely builds a mind palace for us. It is a more beautiful world with your music in it. Truly, thank you.
