Hello everyone, welcome to my channel. Like so many others, my lifestyle changed due to the pandemic.
Before the pandemic, my families lives had become so hectic & busy that there never seemed to be a good time to travel anymore. Somewhere along the line we realized that our last vacation was in 2011. We decided that it was time we made some travel plans.
Then the pandemic hit! I no longer wanted to travel by plane or stay in a hotel. We decided that a bettter and safer alternative would be to travel in our own vehicle, one that we could also sleep in, cook our own meals in, vacation in. The rest is history!
However, the RV shopping process is not easy and required a lot of research. I want to share what I have learned along with my ongoing experiences and adventures through my channel which offers:
RV tours / walkthroughs
Camping destinations
Hiking
RV modifications & DIYs
RV Cooking
And much more…..
So I invite you to come along with me on this ongoing RV journey.
how is the manufacturer and dealer with after purchase repair/warranty issues? Features and cosmetics are fine, but service is the key.
Black Series are Made in China. Brought in a Shipping container, wheels then installed. Rvs of America stopped carrying them due to quality issues.
Another great review Ruby...thank you and have a great week!
Hello Brent, I am so glad you enjoyed the video tour. Thank you so much for watching my videos! 😊
This is a great trailer roomy and a great layout perfect if you are a construction worker who is working long distance away from the home no complaints at all
Hello, I agree this trailer felt very spacious and was well made. Thank you so much for watching!
I saw one of these recently at our IX Center show. It is a great layout with an incredibly robust frame. The outdoor kitchen would be used quite a bit. If we decide to pull something I’d have to give this a top consideration. The bathroom area is unmatched, and what more do you really need. Nice video as always Ruby!
Hello, I am so glad you got to see one in person. This camper really is durable and rugged with a comfortable and upscale feel in the interior and it’s got great amenities.
Thank you so much for watching!
@@Adventure-Mom 👍
Wow this is great Ruby, thank you for another video! This is a trailer on steroids !
Hello, This trailer definitely has a lot to offer! Thank you so much for watching!
I saw one this week camping here in Northern Ontario…..very impressive
One of these just pulled into the campsite beside us at Rainbow Springs State Park.
Hello, now you get to see one in person! Thank you so much for watching!
Wonderful report. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Ugh, would love to buy one and travel all over America.
Hello, I am so glad you enjoyed the video tour. It would definitely be a comfortable and well equipped trailer for traveling. Thank you so much for watching!
I really like this one!
Hello Erica, This is a really great camper. Thanks for Watching!
@@Adventure-Mom Yes it is. I look forward to more of your videos. :)
My wife and I are looking at getting something like this. I just dont like the new interiors on the HQ series trailers. The new faux wood looks cheap, like the interior of an old 70's sail boat.
Does anyone know if the original grey interior is still available? It was MUCH nicer.
No it’s not available. Cabinets are cheap and don’t stay shut. It not built with good quality hinges like from the original build. I saw this same one on the lot. Cheap components. Refrigerator door panel is cheap and was loose. I was disappointed. You have lots of keys to deal with . The mattress is harder than my rockwood mini lite mattress. Be aware with the cheap components. .
You look awesome sitting on that bed😊
Thanks for the compliment and thanks for watching!
I always want to know the interior height as well as the bathroom interior height. I think most people 6 feet and over have that concern
Hello Tanishazoa, thank you for the feedback. The interior height can usually be found in the specifications located at the beginning of the video. Thank you so much for watching!
@@Adventure-Mom oh thanks for pointing that out. I guess I get too caught up on the interiors haha.
Join the BS forums and find out firsthand how poorly built they are. Absolutely terrible manufacture support. Thousands of bad reviews with quality control and even worse lack of technician training. Broken wheel studs, broken trailer hitches, inoperable solar and countless AC system failures……… the list goes on and on.
So true. I’ve seen them and notice cheap built cabinets , one of the cabinets didn’t stay closed, cheap hinges and what you mentioned.
Now go look at owner review and see why these are junk
I called this RV dealer. They were rude, short and hung up on me. I guess business is good there.
She does a great job but the sales person knows very little about what he is trying to sell. Starting with the comment of "4 season camper". It is not a 4 season camper as built but can be modified to be a 4 season camper. My experience is that the sales staff at any RV dealer is not very knowledgeable about anything they sell regardless of the brand.
I own a 2022 HQ19, so I know what it is or isn't.
I suggest that this dealership gets some product training.
This trailer looks like it should be towed by a full sized HUMV or an MRAP.
Yes, a full-size "something" to be sure...

I’ve looked at these in my home town dealer. Do not buy one. There not the same quality like from the start. China built with cheap components. I was not impressed. Lots of problems. I told the sales guy about them and he agreed, customers were having problems with them. Sales guy admitted it.
Thanks for Watching!
I don't know why they put "2x AGM 100Ah GEL batteries" in the Specs because AGM and GEL are two very different battery technologies (not the same)...and IIRC, even have different different charging requirements. So, the batteries here are either AGM or GEL -- can't be both. That is, TMK, as I'm not a "battery expert" -- but played one on TV, and while doing that gig stayed at a Holiday Inn Express, so maybe I AM a battery expert after all? ;-)
The Control Panel ("Black Series Headquarters") looks very nice and located in probably the best location (if you're not too short): Right above the door.
Battery questions aside, this trailer looks pretty rugged: Just the thing for a serious off-road-focused 4x4 vehicle to be towing off-road/boon-docking...EXCEPT it's probably too much (too long & heavy) for a mid-size truck -- like a Jeep Gladiator or Chevy Colorado ZR2 -- to handle comfortably, IF at all (I wouldn't try it with MY Gladiator). Only a serious FULL-size 4x4 truck will do given the HQ19 is 6,122lbs (empty, I guess) & 26.24' long (specs as seen on the Gear Patrol website)...thought it was only 19' long (as it's name "HQ19" would suggest).
But a "HQ13" or "HQ16" -- IF they were actually 13' and 16' (respectively, like a Scamp 13 or an Airstream Basecamp-X 16) would definitely be doable for mid-size "serious/off-road-focused 4x4" trucks. Even my Gladiator. :-)
...and this HQ19 is currently "half-off MSRP?" Amazing...
"Jeep Wave"
