Good pranks make you react to silly or unexpected situations around you without ever involving you directly. This isn't a "prank", this is a bait-and-switch jumpscare.

I feel like the scenery inside the box should be a peaceful one, like green fields and blue skies That would make the scare more effective.
No people insulted, no degrading or attacking people belief, no pie on the face that ruin your day, just genuine smile, this is a prank.

If the box is heavy you could always make a stirrup type carrier for it, basically two plastic or metal rods bent to go over your shoulders to distribute the weight over your shoulders instead of your arms......
