1 of the reasons it’s hard to forgive other’s, especially after a heinous & painful act against you, is the false thinking that forgiving is somehow saying tht what the other person did doesn’t matter, like it dismisses what he/she did, & yet, the victims are often still suffering the consequences. It would be easier to forgive if ppl understood the law of Moses, nicknamed “victim’s rights” law, which is a law of restitution - it’s all about making the victim whole. It begins by explaining the master/servant relationship (as a symbol of our Master, Jesus Christ’s, relationship w/ us). When the servant, as the wrongdoer, can’t pay the debt, make restitution, the master takes responsibility for paying the debt. Christians seem to always focus on the sinner being forgiven w/out much thought about the victim who was harmed. But the reason, the how of Christ’s Atonement, the flip side of the forgiveness coin, is His promise to make the victim whole. We all are sinners & have done something that hurt someone else - intentional or not. & sometimes the emotional harm is not something we can fix. As we seek forgiveness, the promise of the atonement is that He will take on our sin & pay our debt & restitution to those we harmed - He will fully heal them. If we understand this promise, we can call on it. When He takes on the sinner’s debt, He has full intention of paying that debt & making the victim whole (the victim just has to let Him.) & on the flip side, when we’re the victims, we can turn to Him & call on His promise to heal us; as we understand that He died for & took on the sin of the person who harmed us, we understand that He is now responsible for paying the debt, the restitution & healing us. W/ this understanding, we can let go of anger that the perpetrator got away w/ what he/she did, or that he/she never asked forgiveness … or whatever reason we’re holding onto our pain & un-forgiveness. The Savior has it covered on both ends.💕

@@debidonovan2385 there’s a really good book that taught me this: “The Promise of the Atonement: cure for broken dreams.” It helped me heal and forgive, & have faith in His healing power, & my right to call on His promise to heal those who’ve been hurt by decisions I made in the past. I highly recommend it. 🙂.

You said a whole lot of gobblety gook here, I at 31, I lost a baby boy, 16months old, in a camping accident when a hungover neighbor got in his vehicle still impaired and proceeded o back out of his area. He had a passenger and was turned looking at him while backing out , all the while my children were in an adjacent empty spot out of his way.
The man saw my son said he decided he was big enough to stay out of the way as he proceeded to back into that spot! A totally bizarre action as it went against the way he needed to go!
To make a long story short it ended in tragedy with my bay dying in my arms. Before the ambulance came the man came to where we were and was devastated and barely able to stand. I went to him and took one look at him and took him into my arms as he sobbed out his agony and apology. I asked him if he had a relationship with God and if he didn't he should seek Him , and get his life straightened out or he wouldn't be able to live with what he has done. He reeked of alcohol.
Two years later at deposition , he was a changed man and came directly to me with gratitude and told me of how I ad impacted his life. He returned his life to his Savior and remains faithful and was fruitful and multiplied in his company business. I know as I followed his life several times over the years.
It's now 5 short days to that day and I know in whom I have believed and He has been faithful to forgive and for that I am forever grateful. He is faithful and just.

Sorry but forgiveness has nothing to do with god. It's something WE CHOOSE to do.

If Earl truly knew that he was forgiven and had eternal life, it would seem to me that he would have had no fear of Johnny killing him because he would have known where he was going.

Is it really necessary for 50 cops to yell "let me see your hands", while there guns are pointed at you? That seems more frightening than actually being held hostage 😮😱

This isn't entertainment. I watch movies to be entertained. This is a looooog boring excuse of a drunk making excuses for why he is a drunk. He blames and judges everyone instead of taking responsibility for being a booooooring drunk. A giant waste of my time. Save yourself and turn it off now. Don't wait for a point, there isn't one.

This is what loss and lost do to people. Look how unforgiveness, hatred, anger, revenge and faithlessness can steal a beautiful good life. Not accepting loss or lost lies the danger of evil (sin) death (the grave).
Forgiving ourselves and others as we are forgiven by grace and mercy. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever amen.
Anything we worship can be taken in the blink of an eye. Have no other god beside the True and Living God. Reach to God, the highest power there is. Never fall into sin, as sin is death and evil consumes.
So, resist the devil (evil) and it will flee from you. That negative energy must go, it must leave you in the presence of God eternal.
