It's rare to see a lesbian couple with a big age gap on TV, and I really enjoyed seeing Paula and Sophie together. It's a pity that even today there are still many people who are prejudiced against the age gap between couples, and it's still sad that Brooke left the show because of her pregnancy and doesn't seem to be returning.

Which I find weird because they’ve never had any scenes together at all and the writers have come up with a random storyline that Tracey gets seduced by Paula and automatically start a steamy affair. What I don’t get is these stupid storylines they’ve got now like with so called hard man Gary and this Paula suddenly decides too seduce Tracey when they’ve never had any scenes together. I just could NOT get into the Sophie/Paula thing. Paula, in my opinion, looked FAR too much like she could be Sophie's actual mother (besides the fact that she could have been age-wise), so to me it always was awkward and gross for them to be together. If they wanted to go with the May-December relationship thing with Sophie, I think they should have chosen someone who didn't have the same complexion/hair color/etc. as Sophie. That being said, I'll miss Sophie for the time she's gone. I agree with someone else who said her voice could be pretty screechy, especially when she was younger, but all in all, she was an okay character in my book. Honestly, I was kind of hoping that Kate and Sophie would get together after the long haul of everything, but since both actresses have left the show (Kate's actress probably permanently), obviously that won't happen LOL. I hope they don't continue the Paula/Sophie thing permanently once Sophie returns. But for now, bye, Sophie! You'll be missed :)
