I'm a huge fan of FORTNITE just like you and love putting together videos showing the evolution of Fortnite. It takes a lot of effort and requires a lot of research to create these videos but I'm proud of them.

having the game on low settings for everything makes it look a lot more og especially jumping out the battle bus
They need to bring back the old storm effect and old lighting because the old one has a warmer tone compared to the new one which has a cooler tone, I kind of wished they would bring back the depth of field effect which is the blur in the background but oh well, at least it's a major improvement from the first OG Season.

This kinda feels like we are playing the og map with more realistic graphics like a rendered version of the game you would see in videos or something.

All they need to do is bring back the OG AR and Tac icons and the mode is perfect
They are aware of it and said they’ll fix it, hopefully soon

2017 Season 2 Post Map Update will always be the peak of Fortnite's graphics. I hated it when they removed the large amount of motion blur when Season 3 dropped.

If you guys play with lumen and nanite disabled, the game will look WAY more faithful to the original. The main difference currently is the grass being used is from Chapter 5 instead of OG, but that's a mistake they're aware of and will be fixed whenever it can. The lighting may not look 100% accurate to 2017, but that's because they opted to recreate it with lumen support instead of reusing the 7 year old lighting/sky, which is fair

I just wish it still was Fortnite Battleroyale and not a Fortnite named platform. Back then battle royale were everything but nowadays just 1 dead mode among billions

I think UI and Lobby wise, old Fortnite did it way better. However, gameplay and general graphics are way better in modern Fortnite without a doubt. Multiple critical quality of life changes have been made over the years.

While I do appreciate the new graphics and quality of life changes, I do wish they’d go a step further to recreating the lighting and feel of OG Fortnite. Mainly the warmer color palette and blur in the distance.
The thing I wish most in Fortnite is the old pickaxe animation

the real og fortnite is way better than the 2025 og, wish they replicate all this in the actual og gameplay especially the graphic

They need to increase the warmth, saturation, contrast,shadows,and fog

Why is the new one so cool colored and not warm like the the original? Epic games have gotta be the most lazy, inconsistent group of people ever. The graphics, color, textures are so odd and bright it genuinely baffles me how 2,000 brains cannot realize there mistakes 😂

It's very different but its the closest we can get. I dont think we can get an exact version of the graphics because it was on unreal engine 3 and we're on 4 or 5 currently.
