Lou Reed - "Sister Ray" w/ Hunter & Wagner (RnR Animal tour, 1973)

This is a performance of "Sister Ray" from Lou's fall 1973 Berlin tour, which is better known as the Rock 'n' Roll Animal tour. This is with the much beloved Steve Hunter & Dick Wagner guitar duo, Peter Walsh on bass, Ray Colcord on the organ, and Pentti "Whitey" Glan on drums. It's a stunning arrangement as any of the adapted Velvets tunes on the ROCK N ROLL ANIMAL and LOU REED LIVE records are, but they did not perform it regularly on the tour. They played "Sister Ray" only a few times actually - this is the highest quality performance, straight from sound engineer Dinky Dawson's mixing board at the show!
