  • This is part two of the series growing grape from seeds right here in Malaysia.
    This method is growing using hydroponic method to increase the success rate and prevent stunted growth. Once the plant reach 6 to 7 feets tall, you can permanently potted to a bigger pot or straight to the ground

      you must fertilize it with high P and K. then after few weeks, prune all the leaves at once, left with only stem that is pencil thickness...the new buds break will bring forth the flowers.

    Can't wait to see the fruits. Let us know if they taste like the original fruit. They usually don't but I'm curious. A lot of the fruit trees/vines sold in California are clones through cuttings and grafting to preserve the parentage. I grew mine from seeds too but as a bonsai.

    interesting pot didn't touch water but use air bubble to water the plant?

    • @TonysExploration
      @TonysExploration  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      the air bubble will oxygenated the water. and the humidity trap between the bucket and pot will force the roots to grow towards that. You will be surprise how fast the roots reach that. That is the key, once you have roots establish, repot to a bigger pot or straight to ground. Also the air bubble will wet the bottom soil because of microsplash ( fizz that bubbles up like soda can)

    I have a couple of this type of grape plants in Bangladesh . Their age is around 80 days .But the problem is they are in a pot of solid soil . I mean, there is no hydroponic facility . And my plants are a little bit less green than yours .
    so , what should i do now ? & Is it possible to grow grape without hydroponic method ?

    • @TonysExploration
      @TonysExploration  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Definitely can, i assure you, you can grow in pot using soil that is rich in compost. I will soon make a video showing you exactly from seed to fruiting in pot. Right now is on flowering stage. Once it turn to berry, i can complete my video. The fertilizer you may use can be those chemical NPK like 5:5:5 or 11:11:11 or even pure mature manure.
      Hydroponic give you better chance of success when in seedlings and growing stage to avoid stunted growth. Eventually , all this have to move to soil based, you cannot grow grapes permanently in hydro-based.

    • @TonysExploration
      @TonysExploration  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Of course it will, the nature work by itself , it may take 2 to 3 years before bear fruits. Here the tricks, while waiting for years for the plant to mature , you can actually grafted other variety to one of its vine and use it as a rootstock. This will allow you to have the grape within the same year. After few years, you will have two type of variety in a single plant

    • @TonysExploration

      to help damp the soil at the bottom because the air stone generate mircosplash, and also for oxygenated the water purpose. This also prevent the breeding ground for mosquitoes with aerated water

    If pot base never touch the water, How plant get nutrition ?

    • @TonysExploration
      @TonysExploration  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      the airstone when aerate will create tiny"mircosplash" which will eventually wet the bottom soil... and because you sandwich two bucket together, you create very humid air trap in between...the roots will eventually grow towards there very fast

      @@DavidKim-9 ,once the plant grow healthy , and the root get establish, you must repot to a permanent bigger pot without the water or straight to ground. The ideal of using this bucket fertilizer water is to increase the growth rate, and prevent stunted growth. This method cannot be use for long term growth.
