Original Betty was already popular in my country and when Hollywood's Betty came out it was nothing like the original and I knew Hollywood gonna screw up but eventually loved the show as a new one.

It made sense, they were not a good match. Gio ended up finding someone perfect for him. Better choosing herself instead of between Henry and gio, was a demonstration if self love that had to be demonstrated by her character who by apprences should have had low self esteem because she was constantly ridiculed for not fitting in, but throughout the show she demonstrated inner power, self love, and strength. Her not choosing gio, made sense got her character..... but at the same time I here you lol...
I've seen the entire original soap opera Betty la Fea, and I've seen Ugly Betty. The original is just a million times better and the story and the characters and the soundtrack and everything is just pure genius. There has to be an American version that follows the original story. The Russian, Indian, Spain, Mexican, filipino, ect versions follow the original story, but not ugly betty.
