- I went to Pittodrie Stadium to watch Aberdeen v HJK Helsinki in the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Celtic & Rangers both lost in Europe this week so it was down to Aberdeen to save Scotland!

Aberdeen probably. Rangers are shambles rn and no Scottish team has the ability to advance the CL group stage. Aberdeen are the only hope we have left in Europe

Unfortunately no, things really need to change with our teams in Europe and especially my team Celtic, it has been over a decade now since our last win in the champions league and that is not good enough. The board more interested in posting record profits than points in Europe
Feels like a match we should've won but too many wasted chances. We went missing for a long spell in the match, at the end of the first half and start of the second half. It was only when we got an equaliser that we really started to get going again.

Honestly Celtic should have won, Aberdeen should have won against a poor side and Rangers (best not talk about them). But seriously this should have been 3 wins for Scottish teams this week. All of our teams were poor this week.

Yup. Duk missed a very, very good chance one-on-one with an average keeper and he blasted it right at him. He just isn't performing. I don't even think that HJK are the best Finnish team right now, it's KuPS.
PAOK are the best team in the group, they handled Frankfurt last night. They get stuck in, win the ball, get forward fast, that will a tough game and the away match in Greece will be even tougher.
Dons needs to concentrate on beating Hibs at Hampden and winning the League Cup which is doable, even against Rangers, I feel. And there are tough league games against Celtic and Motherwell coming up.

We were awful in Limassol but Aberdeen drew at home to a poor Helsinki team - hardly a saviour.
They were done over a little by the ref bottling a clear red.

Both Aberdeen and Celtic were better than their opponents this week but only got a draw and a narrow loss out of it.
Rangers, meanwhile, were just rubbish against Cypriot minnows.
You are aware Aberdeen played against a part time team that struggled to knock out Larne? Limassol played BATE Borisov and Slovan Bratislava and over the 4 games scored 18 goals.

Cypriot football has came a long way in the past few years thanks to dodgy owners, etc. They have amped up their clubs big time. But Rangers should be beating teams like Aris. The way they played at home to PSV - 2-2 - made them look strong, but then they totally shat the bed the following week and since that defeat, they have looked wonky as fuck. Dons beating them 1-3 made us feel strong but then we turned in a plodding performance at Pittodrie. Need to beat Hibs at Hampden then Rangers (or Hearts!) in the Final before Christmas, that would create a massive buzz. Do damage in Europe NEXT year, I say, don't kill ourselves trying to perform miracles against PAOK and Frankfurt. Just being pragmatic.
@@robertmcclelland4235 Larne are a decent side. HJK have played Group stage football three seasons in a row and won the Finnish title four consecutive. And Bate Borisov isnt a good side.

As much as rangers are rightly getting ripped for last nights display and result, they still won their first game. Celtic and Aberdeen are still trying to get their first wins, infact, Celtic are trying to get their first point. Rangers even look in a stronger position to get out of their group than Aberdeen or Celtic, as shite as they are playing. Let that one sink in.
Think about it though, Celtic are playing in the Tournament with the best players in the world and its Aberdeen's first season in Group stage football in 16 years

Fair enough, they have played quite well, but at this level you have to be ruthless and Scottish clubs just aren’t there. Our league structure and the ones running our game have a lot to blame for this, not just the clubs. Scottish football is in a right state.

Both teams lacking any real quality. Both teams will be the fodder in this group. The Pittodrie crowd was like a morgue at times, which was probably down to those 2 lengthy stoppages killed Aberdeens momentum till the last 20. The ref was probably the worst I have seen some bizarre decisions. Draw was probably a fair result.
