Nice Ranking!! I only really miss The Living Daylights. It is probably the only real romantic ending. The Others are either tragic or funny which is also fine of course.....
Skyfall's ending made the film 1000x better and it surely brought an epic conclusion to Judi Dench's reign as M. Ralph Fiennes is a great actor, his acting prowess in The Schindler's List and the English Patient is legendary but I find his take on M boring as hell. There's nothing outstanding about his personality, like Bernard Lee or Judi. His M just a nagging boss, always displeased about sth. He did much better as a supporting character for Judi Dench in Skyfall.
Skyfall for me was the end of Bond. the last 2 Craig in my opinion were terrible and killed my interest in anything new that comes out regardless of who takes over. but those 2 Craig Bond endings you ranked top 2 were fantastic. and agree 100% when a Bond movie ends you need to walk out smiling
James bond end top 27: 27- No time to die 26- Casino Royale 25- Die another day 24- Licence to kill 23- Living daylight 22- World is not enough 21- Tomorrow never dies 20- Goldfinger 19- You only live twice 18- Man with the golden gun 17- Casino Royale -67 16- Goldeneye 15- Quantum of solace 14- Spectre 13- Skyfall 12- Thunderball 11- From russia with love 10- Diamonds are forever 09- On her majesty secret service 08- A view to a kill 07- Live and let die 06- For your eyes only 05- Never say never again 04- Dr no 03- Moonraker 02- Octopussy 01- The spy who loved me
I can't argue with Skyfall at the top of your list; however, I just love that Casino Royale had a set of bookends -- arguably the best opening and closing scenes.
I think Danny Boyle backed out of being the director on No Time to Die because he didn't like the ending and they wouldnt let him change it. I would have left too. The ending was awful.
Boyle himself debunked that theory recently. He said the end was presented to him when he joined and he had no issues with it [that was when to back out if he didn't like the ending, not months later]. He said he left because his concept of doing a modern cold war tale set in Russia didn't work out.
I hear you say that they could not get away with the old endings today... but I would argue that with they way hollywood is today.. that's only because James is with a girl... not a guy. Sex on TV or in the movies today is skating that fine line between mainstream movies.. and it's XXX cousins...
Howard Weber says > You talked about Skyfall getting a standing ovation at the end of the movie. Let me tell you what happened when I first saw Diamonds are Forever back in December, 1971 ( I was 20 at the time ) . Now you have to remember that Connery was away from Bond for 4 1/2 years. When the gunbarrel sequence came on the screen , there was THUNDEROUS applause from the audience. Then , when Connery came on the screen and said the words " my name is Bond , James Bond ", the audience went nuts. They CHEERED and APPLAUDED like you`ve never heard before. I`ve seen every Bond movie in the theater ( 1962 - 2021 ) and I`ve never heard a bigger audience reaction than I did when I saw Diamonds are Forever back in December , 1971. You had to be there to hear it to believe it.
I've been a Bond fan for as long as I've loved movies and I think No Time to Die paid electrifying tribute to the character 🤷♂️ I know you didn't mean it like this, Jeroen, but it really rubs me the wrong way how a sizable contingent of the fanbase have insisted that "no true fan" could enjoy that film or its ending, as if I'm a "lesser" fan or that the character doesn't mean as much to me as he does to you, neither of which could be further from the truth.
I really like the ending as well and feel it was a perfect end to Bond's character arc through the 5 films [selfish agent turned family man]. I got the feeling general audiences did appreciated it more.
I agree I didn't care for the ending in no time to die I was blown away that he was killed and gave me the impression what actor would replace him as James Bond
Skyfall should have been the last Craig film, great ending and leaves him on a high, instead of dragging him through shit in spectre and no time to die
No time to die was the best bond ending. No joke. It made me cry and felt like it was the perfect send off to Criag.. using all the time in the world.... was just the perfect ending.
I agree. I absolutely loved it. We already have over 20 other Bond films with happy endings. It was obvious they were going to reboot after craig anyway. So I really don't see the problem. Bond will continue no matter what.
I love Skyfall ending and it’s one of my favorite endings and this is the first James Bond film I saw in theaters and I heard the James Bond theme I knew this is my favorite movie of the Director and Daniel Craig as James Bond
this is probably the reason i never liked daniel craig. but the last film was pretty good, he never was good with the girls. so your right !! ik vind het jammer dat ze niet hebben voortborduurd op het einde van skyfall, had dezelfde reactie, nu krijgen we misschien weer het ouderwetse bond gevoel terug echter de film erna is dat er niet meer.
1) Casino Royale (my favourite Bond film has my favourite ending. What can I say, that line is so EARNED at that point) 2) You only live twice (classic Bond and the girl on the raft + wonderful cinematography + one of the very best songs + innuendo = winning combo) 3) Moonraker (neck and neck with #2 for the very same reasons) 4) On Her Majesty's secret service (a downer to be sure, but Lazenby's best acting of the film) 5) Skyfall (always makes me excited for the next film... not sure if that's such a good thing anymore, but in isolation, that's all I want) 6) Goldeneye (Pierce's and Izabella's chemistry is on full display and the song is actually a guilty pleasure of mine...) 7) The Man with the Golden Gun (I hate the film but damn if that song isn't a banger!) 8) The Living Daylights (it's certainly not the most original, but for some reason I find it particularly sweet) 9) Diamonds are forever (complete and total cheese, but I love it) 10) License to kill (would be higher if not for that god-awful fish blink) HM: The World is not enough (you know they called Denise Richards' character like that just for that pun^^) DM: No Time to Die (I'm not opposed to the idea of killing off Bond, but this was so contrived and botched, and I hate how schmolzy the last interaction between Madeline and Mathilde is, not to mention M's reading of Jack London, which reminded me of The Dark Knight rises and the Dickens quote at the end)
I agree with a lot of this list. I absolutely love the end of TSWLM and Casino Royale and really like the end of Goldeneye, Moonraker, and Skyfall too (despite Judi Dench dying). I would add that I think the end of TLD is very sweet. I so totally appreciate the use of your phrasing all time high that you threw in at the end of the video. I so hope they go back to happier, fun endings when Bond returns.
I liked the ending of Goldfinger, you think the film has ended with the countdown clock being switched off at Fort Knox but you have a little epilogue of Connery getting on the airplane to go to Washington to meet the president but Goldfinger is on board.’’ Are you going to see the president too ?’’
Loved the cat listening to the Lulu song. Not in this order, just going chronically: Dr. No, FRWL, Thunderball, OHMSS, Live and Let Die, Spy Who Loved Me, Moonraker, The Living Daylights, Goldeneye, and Casino Royale. Honorable Mention: Skyfall
Good stuff, I would just put Casino Royale ahead of Skyfall though. After Craig says the line and the screen goes black, a buddy and I both - completely and totally independently - stood up, put a fist in the air and said "Bond is BACK!!"
Nice one, Jeroen. Any thoughts of ever covering the ‘67 version of Casino Royale? It has a lot of fun scenes, and much of what is typical of Bond films, but will probably win the ‘cheese factor’ by several degrees.
when you think about it DAD bringed the classic shag a woman type scene back, i think you can still do it brosnan still did it at every end of his movies, man i miss brosnan great list.
Great video but I highly disagree with your no.1 pick.I find it silly that Bond didn’t know Moneypennys name…they were on a MISSION together in the beginning! He didn’t know her name but knew the dying agent Ronsons name? Also, the ending is tarnished knowing that they screwed up the next two movies.Instead of reverting to the classic style of getting a standalone story we got Brofeld.

Pretty much all of my predictions that I had two years before no time to die got released came true, and I got mocked for those predictions until they came true. Thank you for speaking up for izabella Scorupco, I feel that she gets unfairly forgotten and she was excellent vis-a-vis Brosnan. Ethan Hawke has singled out the Moonraker ending as the ideal of how great it would be to be Bond. And I liked the final song in GoldenEye, after a long grueling movie I was in the mood for something you might play for your date.

Ok so you are obviously not a Bond Fan so why do you bother about the ending so much? This movie has great action scenes, the cinematography is very good and the sound is amazing
I know you adore the Moore era, especially after The Spy Who Loved Me, but the last Bond I saw at the cinema was Moonraker, and the entire audience groaned in abject misery at the final cheesy Confessions of A Carry on double entendre.
I know you mentioned not carrying on from Majesty's in DAF as being the biggest missed opportunity in the series, are you going to make a video on the biggest missed opportunities? There are certainly some that come to mind immediately.
7:22 funfact, the original Bond Theme is actually not the original soundtrack for this scene, it's actually this: th-cam.com/video/RVwRDtEEEes/w-d-xo.html
With No time to die I disagree as a dishonorable mention. Dont get me wrong, we all hated to see Bond die. But the part afterwrards I do quite like. How everyone takes a toast to Bond. And that last scene with Madeleine and Mathilde I actually find quite good. And Louis Armstrong playing really made me feel…
Well-said...I ABSOLUTELY agree with you about No Time To Die... They should have never done that, it was a bad mistake and it will certainly take a lot of work and a great script to fix the damage... As for cheesy stuff being too cheesy for the current times I would respectfully disagree, maybe because people have gotten used to the doom and gloom that seems to be in most movies these days but I really think most people would love to have that kind of cheesiness back... People need humor and a good laugh amid all the action and deaths... You should have seen the expression on all the faces of the people in the movie theater at the end of No Time To Die... Everyone was shocked and heartbroken... That was the dumbest decision ever... You don't go to see a Bond movie, get all excited about it only to leave the movie shocked and devastated... On a more personal note, when I went to see No Time To Die I had just been through a personal tragedy and I thought the new Bond movie would bring me some comfort...The hell it did...
The ending was supposed to be shocking and heart breaking by design in fairness [similar to Logan]. It wasn't supposed to get audiences cheering, similar to OHMSS. In fairness, despite the more upbeat coda's only Spectre ends with an upbeat ending of the Craig movies. Casino and Skyfall end with Bond losing someone close to him and Qunatum's ending is very bittersweet and downbeat.
I don't think the intention of the Skyfall ending was to say 'back to classic Bond'. Bond has just lost his boss/mentor figure but he is greeted by his new team and accepts a new mission-life goes on in other words. M won't be forgotten but work continues. It's similar in theme to Fleming's Casino Royale where Bond states 'The bitch is dead now'. He doesn't mean it [as he visits Vesper's grave annually as shown in OHMSS] but he's looking toward the next mission.
Only Ralph Feinnes could follow Judy Dench as M. He acquitted himself rather well, with a strong follow up in SPECTRE. Still haven't seen NO TIME TO DIE, and accidentally walked into a major SPOILER on that one in another if your videos.
Seeing Casino Royale in cinema, with the music building to "the name's Bond. James Bond." And the classic Bond theme blaring out, was just pure bliss

3. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
4. Live and Let Die
5. Thunderball
Everyone getting blown up in Casino Royale...
Nice Ranking!! I only really miss The Living Daylights. It is probably the only real romantic ending. The Others are either tragic or funny which is also fine of course.....
I reckon FYEO with that cheeky talking parrot and Margaret Thatcher and dopey Dennis deserved and honourable mention at least 😂😂🦜
Oh yes!!! It's cheesy, but it was hilarious if you lived under Thatcher. The guy who plays Dennis is hilarious
That was a pure fun end 👍
I am a big fan of the Bond world and your channel man - and we see eye to eye 98% of times! Cheers!

01- The spy who loved me
I can't argue with Skyfall at the top of your list; however, I just love that Casino Royale had a set of bookends -- arguably the best opening and closing scenes.
Good point. Quite sad that this is the way it is ...
From your introduction I was thinking he's hardly gonna leave Casino Royale and Skyfall out of this?! Silly me, great video!
I do think saying 'no true fan' is silly in general [I can't stand 'gate keeping'].
@@jamesatkinsonja exactly
I agree I didn't care for the ending in no time to die I was blown away that he was killed and gave me the impression what actor would replace him as James Bond
Great video Jeroen. I would move one or two around personally but still, I enjoyed this video alot. I especially agree with your top 4 endings.
I agree with 1 Skyfall and 2 Casino Royale. 3 should have been OHMSS. Love the Roger Moore classic endings 😂
You and I have the same #1 pick. Excellent choice.
Skyfall should have been the last Craig film, great ending and leaves him on a high, instead of dragging him through shit in spectre and no time to die
Hey I’m a huge fan and I was wondering if you could you do a ranking of the Craig bond movies please ❤️
I prefer the funny endings
So the Roger Moore For your eyes only, Octopussy and A view to a kill are in my Top 5 😉
As TSWLM and MR
Great video & thoroughly enjoyable
Thank you for all your videos. And I have to agree with everything you said in this one! Amazing stuff! Bring forth the occasional cheesy moments! 😁
Your videos are the best!
What can I say, that line is so EARNED at that point)
2) You only live twice (classic Bond and the girl on the raft + wonderful cinematography + one of the very best songs + innuendo = winning combo)
3) Moonraker (neck and neck with #2 for the very same reasons)
4) On Her Majesty's secret service (a downer to be sure, but Lazenby's best acting of the film)
5) Skyfall (always makes me excited for the next film... not sure if that's such a good thing anymore, but in isolation, that's all I want)
6) Goldeneye (Pierce's and Izabella's chemistry is on full display and the song is actually a guilty pleasure of mine...)
7) The Man with the Golden Gun (I hate the film but damn if that song isn't a banger!)
8) The Living Daylights (it's certainly not the most original, but for some reason I find it particularly sweet)
9) Diamonds are forever (complete and total cheese, but I love it)
10) License to kill (would be higher if not for that god-awful fish blink)
HM: The World is not enough (you know they called Denise Richards' character like that just for that pun^^)
DM: No Time to Die (I'm not opposed to the idea of killing off Bond, but this was so contrived and botched, and I hate how schmolzy the last interaction between Madeline and Mathilde is, not to mention M's reading of Jack London, which reminded me of The Dark Knight rises and the Dickens quote at the end)
Loved this!
Amazing video! I agree with you %100! Love the Skyfall ending the most!
Great video, only disagreement is The World is Not Enough, I know that had to do the Christmas joke but it was bad in my opinion.
I liked the ending of Goldfinger, you think the film has ended with the countdown clock being switched off at Fort Knox but you have a little epilogue of Connery getting on the airplane to go to Washington to meet the president but Goldfinger is on board.’’ Are you going to see the president too ?’’
13:33. 😂😂😂😂😂💀💀💀 what a great line
I am partial to the end of “Goldfinger” when Bond says “Now is no time to be rescued”.
Flop 10 Bond Endings would be a cool video.
Yes! License to Kill's ending song leaves just the right feeling in my mind and heart.
Its such a sentimental song
Agree about your dishonorable mention for sure.
#4 would have been my #1, but great video @DutchBondFan
this is one of the only bond lists I agree with entirely. Lots to be done 007.
Cannot wait for 100% at patreon 🙌🙌
Me neither!!
Woody Allen was the ultimate Bond.
Other than the music, it’s a mediocre movie.
when you think about it DAD bringed the classic shag a woman type scene back, i think you can still do it brosnan still did it at every end of his movies, man i miss brosnan great list.
Your singing was bloody horrible and hurt my ears the The Man With The Golden Gun but then suddenly you had me in tears of laughed when you put that head banging cat on 😂😂😂😂😂
I seriously nearly peed my pants laughing 😂😂😂😂🐈
This time the singing had a reason 😂 I had to reupload this video a few times due to copyrights on this song. So in the end I decided to sing the first sentence, leave one sentence in, and use a cover of the music to bypass the copyrights. It worked! 😂 - And the cat I could not resist! 😂😆
@@DutchBondFan wow that's the kind of legal garbage you have to go through just to make a point, that they can ban a video if you use a few more bits of a song. That's crazy man. Was just teasing you though, but you know that 😜
Dammmm that cat bit was funny, comic genius 😋😂
I'm watching the men's Wimbledon final because Aussie Nick Kyrgios is playing but watching your video in between games but will give you my feedback on your choices later on if that's ok 😁🍸
I think I may have to pinch your idea for my channel and do a top 10 endings, great idea. 😁🔥🔥
@@thejamesbondshow9754 Oh trust me the copyright struggles are constant making videos like these! It happens all the time and you have to find creative ways to bypass them...
Glad you enjoyed!
P.S - Your recent video on Barbara Brocolli was spot on, my thoughts exactly and thanks for mentioning me in that one!
@@DutchBondFan you're welcome buddy, I often mention my admiration for you and give you credit.
I did a part 2 of that video also.
Some may find this hard to believe but I absolutely hate speaking out against eon productions as they've brought me so much joy over the years, but just have to be honest and say the truth and what I feel too, not enough people who claim to love James Bond will speak out against what they're doing to James Bond, they kind of disguise it and hold-back and I believe you and myself and John at haphazard are the only ones that will really speak out. Pretty much all of my predictions that I had two years before no time to die got released came true, and I got mocked for those predictions until they came true.
I'd rather be making videos of absolute celebration but until they honour Ian Fleming's James Bond and pull their heads out and get these films out at least every 3 years, and they stop talking about metoo and reinventing him then I will continue to speak out.
And feel free to leave a comment on my videos, don't worry about what anyone else thinks, they'll never admit to watching my videos and reading the comments anyway but we all know they do 😂😂😂😜
I will always have your back mate 😁
And yeah, sounds like the copyright laws are just crazy and they don't look at the facts that people like you are doing so much to promote the James Bond franchise and keep the tyres burning so to speak especially during these long dry spells where we get no films.
I'll be bringing out a dissecting the directing video tomorrow, but still need to work out watch seen to dissect and if you have any ideas let me know.
And keep up the great content.
Krazy Kajeevie 😁🍸
@@DutchBondFan excuse my typos earlier I fixed up that last comment to make a bit more sense but it's probably cost me the 💗 heart you gave it because when you edit a comment after someone has given it a heart can you lose that heart....and now I'm 💔 lol
Let’s go!!!! Love me some lists
no9 - i think the ending song is one of the best of all bonds. it gives the ending and thus the film more seriousness
no5 - still one of the best, but as you said one of the biggest missed opportunities and to following film.
They are all good! I would have included the ending of YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE.
I still can’t bring myself to watch No Time to Die due to what I’ve heard about the ending…
Ok so you are obviously not a Bond Fan so why do you bother about the ending so much? This movie has great action scenes, the cinematography is very good and the sound is amazing
It is overlong, but it has some good parts.
Funny you say that! I was considering that as I was writing this video!
Fantastic video
7:22 funfact, the original Bond Theme is actually not the original soundtrack for this scene, it's actually this:
th-cam.com/video/RVwRDtEEEes/w-d-xo.html
Wow! Never knew that! Glad they switched it in the film! You learn something every day!
Im happy it did for you!
It made me cringe but I'm glad others are able to appreciate it
Great list! For me OHMSS and Casino Royale's endings are the very best. Don't really feel the Skyfall one tbh, might just be me.
I think he is attempting re-entry sir - Q to M on Moonraker - loved that comment
Casino and Skyfall end with Bond losing someone close to him and Qunatum's ending is very bittersweet and downbeat.
what damage exactly? it was always going to be rebooted anyway
I agree on your opinion on No Time to Die
Sadly the last few Craig movies were so crappy. I long for the early fun enjoyable movies.
I must admit, Bond being killed off really left me gutted and bewildered, I mean how could Barbara Broccoli and Co do that.
“Being BLASTED to pieces” LOL
LMAO, is that the first time you’ve ever put anything from Never Say Never Again in a positive top 10 countdown?
Nope! Fatima Blush is ranked in my Top 10 Henchmen episode!
