Great question! Here are some answers from the bible:
The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. -Psalms 34:18
He is close to us when we are broken and down… And He is the best person to understand our needs because He walked where we walked, and knows all our pain.
Therefore thou shalt say this word unto them; Let mine eyes run down with tears night and day, and let them not cease: for the virgin daughter of my people is broken with a great breach, with a very grievous blow. -Jeremiah 14:17
God cries as well! Most probably the hurt and our tears come from the wickedness and faults of this world that we live in, but God is able to feel our pain and cries with us as well!
He longs to bring us to a place that has no more sorrow, no more crying!
