People who don't look like Malay, don't speak Malay, don't practice Malay culture but call themself Malay? The Dutch brought Indonesian to Africa not Malaysian..
Thank you for your comment. However, you have made an error and have been misinformed. Yes, majority of slaves brought here were from Indonesia, but many slaves were brought from a various places. Read and educate yourself below The community's earliest members were enslaved Javanese transported by the Dutch East India Company.[5] They were followed by slaves from various other Southeast Asian regions, and political dissidents and Muslim religious leaders who opposed the Dutch presence in what is now Indonesia and were sent into exile. Malays also have significant South Asian (Indian) slave ancestry Now, secondly, we have no right to tell people what to call themselves. If an ethnic group prefers to refer to themselves as Cape Malay. Then that is the appropriate and correct term. Not one that you seem as correct. It is clearly accurate and correct. Moreover, your comment is so ridiculous as you refer to Malay Malay Malay. These people are CAPE MALAY. It has nothing to do with malay culture. It is a hybrid culture unique in it's own right and should not be anything other. My mother is Cape Malay. I highly doubt that you are anything close to Cape Malay as you clearly have no knowledge and respect for the culture. No hard feelings but I believe you have been silenced. Thank you.
Raushan Essop because i am a Malay from MALAYsia....South India has nothing to do with Malay.... the Malay.... the Dutch brought Indonesian people to Africa not the Malay... and Malay ancestor were origionally from Taiwanese aborigin
Let me ask you a question, what do you think the Chinese people (for example) will feel when there's a group of people who has nothing to do with the Chinese ....who do not look like the Chinese, who don't speak Chinese, who don't practise Chinese culture but call themself as the Cape Chinese??
