      I would strongly recommend staying away from them. For one, the call quality is awful. Sometimes it takes 5 or 6 times to make a call. Worst of it all, is that once you part ways you have no way to retrieve your sms/mms.

    So strange..... I've had grasshopper for years and NEVER had those issues.... customer service was great whenever I had an issue, the set up was wasy and I would always have good connect with customer service. The problem here is he has never used the system.

      @ivenibarra6632 I'm currently using them. I'm on the most basic plan. So fat I have one number getting a second soon. Forwards to my cell phone and I have extensions and department directories. Like for sales press 1, customer service press 2. If you know you extension dial ot now "703" would be an extension.
      I haven't set those up as yet but I was able to create an account for a VA who made calls. And I had great results with that. Receive call backs too that could be directed to her or me. And I have jazzy hold music. There is no call recording though. There are more expensive services but for what grasshopper does at the price I think it's good

      It's federal law that you can port your number to/from any of the mainstream service providers. Typically as long as you don't owe them money or have a delinquent account in collections, or your account is under some sort of legal litigation or review; YES you can port your numbers in and out without any hassle. I hope that answers your question and thanks for watching.

    I feel like this review describes Vonage.
    Update: Vonage was a nightmare trying to cancel it was the hardest customer service to get in touch with I ever experienced. I had to go through sales to finally speak with a customer service rep and you can only cancel through customer service it took me through multiple loops I can say the worst customer service over any service business I dealt with so please do your research on them I’m sure I’m not the only one to deal with this company horrible service

    • @RichTechnologyGroup
      @RichTechnologyGroup  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmm, I'm not so sure about that one. For starters, Vonage is VERY easy to cancel. In fact we cancelled it once and it took me all of 15 minutes (if that) whereas Grasshopper, I've talked to dozens of people who seemingly had to contact their bank directly to "STOP CHARGE" because they could not get anyone to cancel their Grasshopper account by phone or web chat for months on end. 🤨

    • @hoosierhometeam
      @hoosierhometeam 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I had Vonage for a few years and had no problems other than cost. We decided all we needed was an extra cell phone line with that number and ended up regretting it. Vonage was easy to cancel and their support was great the few times I needed it. I am exploring other options before returning, but definiitely leaning toward going back to what I know and trust, which is Vonage.

    • @jodycwilliams
      @jodycwilliams 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Vonage customer service is the best reason to use them. You can get to them incredibly easily. The system can be a mess, but getting someone to answer how to find a feature is very simple. Chat takes 1 minute at most. Phone support takes maybe 2-3. I’d have ditched Vonage otherwise, tbh. Their customer service saves their so-so sales reps and jumbled UI.
      The sales reps are good for one thing: they will get you a ton of things to get going to free.

    what do you think about dialpad?

    • @RichTechnologyGroup
      @RichTechnologyGroup  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Jaholo. This is a question I've seen asked on my channel a few times here and there. Here is my honest first impressions opinion (and YES we do represent DialPad as well) - I don't know much about their customer service. I've not hear any good or bad news... but usually people always share "bad news" so the fact I haven't heard anything bad via support that's a good thing I guess. Their prices I've heard are cheap - like DIRT CHEAP, which knowing what I know in the industry, that's a bit of a red flag, because typically in telecom "you get what you pay for". Finally, I've never personally signed anyone up on Dialpad, but i've had MANY switchers that call me and want to leave DialPad, when I ask them "WHY" they almost all say verbatim "In the demo we did it had all these features and seemed pretty impressive, but once we signed up and have access to the actual platform, most of the features they say it can do it doesn't do, and many of the others it does do, or that do function, don't function well or totally as advertised." I hope that helps but that's the HONEST feedback I've gotten from DOZENS of clients that have contacted me looking for alternatives to DialPad. Let me know if I can help you with anything or make any recommendations for any services you require. Thanks again for visiting my channel.

    I just want a feature like Grasshopper's "Instant Response" where it sends a text message to missed/ignored calls. One of myy businesses is micro and just needs this text feature. What service would you recommend??

    • @RichTechnologyGroup
      @RichTechnologyGroup  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Arnold. You're actually the second person in 2 weeks that has asked me this question. Many of the carriers offer automated text message to your cellphone or mobile app (included with the service) with caller ID notification and voicemail notification via text, but I'm not sure about the ability for the carrier to SEND the caller a message saying something like - Sorry I'm busy or sorry I missed your call. I'll find out and report back, but that isn't a feature I've heard of in my endeavors. I think it's because the ability to send the recipient a text from a missed or ignored call can cause problems with TEXT SPAMMING and open a door with major liabilities via the carrier who is sending these automated texts. I hope that makes sense and answers your question but I'll find out.

This is what I'm looking for, as we had Grasshopper, and went to Nextiva, and that was lacking many other features that Grasshopper had which worked for us. You say that text spamming filter is an issue, but this text-back feature absolutely worked for us.

    If you're even considering Grasshopper, stay away. The worst platform I have ever dealt with. At first, it came off as a simple, no-frills platform that is better priced than it's competiors. That's where the goop part ended. Call quality is terrible, with a noticeable lag. It was so bad, the service technicians we had using the phones would rather make calls using their phones and be reprimanded for it. The worst part, in my opinion is that when porting our numbers away from grass hopper we woudl be losing access to our SMS/MMS records, with the only way to retrieve them being by taking screen shots. With thousands of messages from the past few years it is not a feasible task, so we will either loose access to our records or continue to pay a hostage fee. Some of their support staff were somewhat sympathetic to our issue, but there was nothign they couold do.

    Good video, I wish I watched it before our company switched from Vonage. However, some of the info is outdated... there's no longer a set-up fee for Grasshopper. And, as you represent many of these other "big carrier" VOiP companies, there's going to be the perception that you are against companies or systems and services you don't rep. Time will tell if our decision is sound.

      YES, Thomas, this is an old video. At the time when we did this video, Grasshopper has "un-publicly" announced to us dealers that they were more or less going out of business. I still have the saved email in writing. At that time their customer service was terrible and MANY customers were contacting us to switch, and THEN the pandemic happened and they re-branded their website a little bit and seem to still be kicking alive and well. How they are doing and if their customer service has improved, I do not know, but I'll do some digging and we may even do an updated video. Thanks for the perspective and thanks for chiming in.

    Grasshopper is only $80/mo unlimited users, unlimited minutes, unlimited extensions! How is that possible when everyone else is per user (we have 80 employees which would costs $10,000 of dollars a year). I don't like Grasshopper's admin interface at all. But so cheap!! And why no unlimited extensions with other service providers??? I'm still researching and calling other companies, but so far no one is able to beat Grasshopper... I'm more than happy to pay around $1,500/year for call forwarding and in-house calls via extensions. Any tips on a provider that cheap?

    • @RichTechnologyGroup
      @RichTechnologyGroup  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi David, I have no idea really which provider would match your requirements because I don't know how many users or what basic or advanced features you need. For example, Vonage tends to be one of the most budget friendly providers we work with. I've got some clients paying as low as around $18 a month and many under $100 but that all depends on number of users, etc etc. As for the whole Grasshopper having "unlimited extensions"; that's always been the catch. They can do that when the customer service isn't that great or is non-existent and the platform is for of self service. They have to make up that savings somehow and that usually results in lack of features, support, etc. I don't know of ANY Other provider that does or will offer unlimited extensions so I can't make any recommendations there, BUT depending on what you need and how many extensions you require, it's possible to be under $1500 / year, but again that ALL depends. If you'd like to speak with my team for recommendations and pricing you can contact us here: www.richtechnologygroup.com/contact-us.html

    • @RichTechnologyGroup
      @RichTechnologyGroup  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Saint Nick. While I'm not a huge fan of Grasshopper either, I can't really fault them on the taxes. The approximate tax rate or percentage you mentioned is pretty similar industry wide. We tend to see it average out to about 16-22% depending on the service provider and city/state that you are in. I don't really blame the VOIP service providers because all they are doing is passing on the expense imposed upon them from Uncle Sam to you and me LOL. Anyways, thanks for chiming in and thank you for that insight and information.
