    Does this test work for diesels as well or is it just for petrol cars

      It should work on Diesels aswell if your car has the sensors in place 🙌

    After 14 minutes mine is at 6380 kPa but it’s still slowly rising. So does that mean it’s an injector? Or it’s the fuel pressure regulator?

    • @megalodononwheels
      @megalodononwheels  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yea it is not picking up as it should. It can be multiple things. Difficult to say what it is by not being there.
      I also heard that sometimes the furl pump in the tank can go bad and the pressure pushes the fuel bsck into the tank.
      But yes there can be multiple things

    I've tried this test, but I don't have the same sensors to check in the list. I checked all of the values, but none stays after switching off the engine and turning ignition on. One value stays, but it's randomly between 2000 and 4000. It's not constant...

      Could you get me the name of that value please 🙏

      @@megalodononwheels I'm not sure and I can't check it in few days... I have a P0087 (low CR fuel pressure) and i can hear my injectors clacking really loud... Very rough idle also. Could it be that my injectors decrease fuel pressure cause they return too much fuel?

    • @megalodononwheels

      Replacing the fuel filter or fuel screen.
      Replacing the bad fuel pump.
      Replacing the frayed, damaged, or kinked fuel lines.
      Replacing the faulty fuel sensor.
      Repairing or replacing the fuel tank (rare)
      There is a few things google says. But yea it might be loud as the fuel pressure is not enough. Are you having any miss fires?

      @@megalodononwheels fuel filter is changed, not fixed. Lines are fine. Sensors both show same value, so they are good. Only thing that i cannot check is pump, and it's pretty expensive to check it randomly, but sure is cheaper that injectors rebuild...

    Hello, i did this test and the preasure drroped? What could be the problem?

    • @megalodononwheels
      @megalodononwheels  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tell me quick? When you idled your car you had your "x" amount of pressure, when you switched your car off it dropped straight away?
      If so, it could be a injector leaking 🤔 tell me, do you smell any fuel when you switch your car off or when you go to it in the morning? It could even be a leak from a bad O-Ring or something

      That is a rough one, that indicates that there might be a problem. Does your car have any problems related to it? I know some cars has a fuel return line, so maybe the pressure just pushes the fuel back in the tank... What car is this?

      Have you checked your pcv? Sometimes they can cause a bad idle, it has a straw on the pcv with a hole at the end, if it sucks or blows its broken, worth a shot to check

      Hi, so far i must say you have done a lot 👌 the most difficult thing to do is, is to help someone over the phone 🤣 but let me try.
      The rough idle comes from the miss fire, when there is a miss fire it can literally shake no matter what or when. Can you please place cylinder number 2 spark plug and coil in cylinder number 1, and see if the problem follows. If it follows then you know its either the sparkplug or coil, then take for example the coil to cyl 4 and leave the spark plug on cyl 1, if the miss fire remains at 1 then it is the spark plug, if it follows to cyl 4 then its the coil... Hope that makes sense.
      I also thought it could be fuel related. It does happen where your HPFP is fine and the problem is actually the LPFP (quick recap, HPFP sit in the engine bay and LPFP sit in the fuel tank underneath the rear seats) so what happen is your LPFP can't get enough fuel to your HPFP. So you are starving your engine and this can cause a lot of damage. If you go through my channel you will come across a video where i explained on how to data log your fuel system. Please go have a look at that video, in that way you will see if your car is suffering from a bad HPFP or LPFP.
      Another thing is, it seems like it is always cyl 2. Go on ebay or amazon or something and buy one of those cheap borescopes (i hope i said it right 🤣 its those cameras you can drop into the spark plug hole and can see the top of the piston. They are actually very cheap, get yourself one and look if the piston top might not be damaged.
      If it is not that, i hope it is not a bent valve, which i doubt... Especially if your car haven't overheated or pushed the rpms beyond the cars capabilities. Also these cars are well known for carbon build ups. So it could even be a case where the carbon build up is so much the valve seats itself on the carbon and not the head, causing a massive leak.
      Hopefully this will give you a start :)

    How long should it keep the high pressure? When I shut the car off the pressure goes up to around 7700 kpa in 10 minutes and starts dropping in a same manner, in the morning before i start the car the fuel rail pressure is 500 kpa. Is it normal? I just changed all 4 injectors. Audi a5 2012

      So sorry that I am only getting back to you now. I was not to sure about your question and just wanted to have a look at my video again lol haven't done it in a while haha. Ok so basically your car didn't reach double or double and a bit. Like I mentioned there is no wrong and no right. So let's say your 7700 is fine. The thing bothering me is that you said your fuel pressure is at 500 in the morning, which is crazy low, why do I say so? It is because when you open your car door, your car is already priming the fuel pump, when you turn on your ignition it is priming for a second time, so surely it shohld be higher? But once again that is the fuel pump in the tank and not your high preasure fuel pump in the engine. What I will do is, I will try to look at my pressure tomorrow and see what the reading says and I will let you know. But it might sound to me like you have an injector leak. What you can do is in the morning remove your spark plugs and look if you can see any fluids on your piston tops through the spark plug hole, you can even turn on your ignition and when it primes, look to see if any piston gets wetter. But for now I will try to look at my cars pressure in the morning and let you know. I also don't think the pressure should drop to quick, like I would imagine it should stop for probably 10min and then drop.

      Hi, sorry I haven't done the test yet, been crazy at work. I will still have a look for you... It might be that your PCV valve is messed up, it has a rubber diaphragm and they intent to tear and cause those shakes when it is doing the cold starts in the morning. I made a video about it and how to see if it is damged or not, it is one of my first videos, just go all the way back and you will find it :) It might not be the cause but it can be something you can rule out.
