Another informative video. Thanks for taking us through the steps you took using the Cricut, I don’t often think to use mine for card making. I hope your career choice has been profitable for you, we enjoy having you as a full time creator! 💙
Been following you on IG for a while now. Glad to see you making more youtube videos. I love this card as well as your other one with the kitty and umbrella. I have a cricut maker, but for some reason Design Studio does not play well with any of my computers or my iPad so I never use my machine anymore. Can't wait to see your next creation! Kim in Austin
I have a scan n cut not a cricut but I absolutely use it in my traditional cardmaking. Particularly for foiled or written sentiments or shapes for layering. I do prefer the edges the dies make though but you can recreate somewhat with a stylish run over the edge. Love your rainy day card, the acetate window really steps it up.
Hi Ralph, love your card! I have had my Cricut Maker for years, I had a knee replacement and couldn’t drive to get my BFF a birthday card. So I made her one with the Cricut. So I joined a FB group for Cricut cards. A lady posted a photo of her card that had a raised texture (embossing). I asked how she did it and she explained. So then I had to buy a Sizzix and embossing folders. I fell down the rabbit hole. Now I cut out some things, stencils and etc, but love to make my own sentiments, print & cut with my laser printer and foil with the Minc. If something happened to my Cricut I would be out tomorrow to but another. I enjoy your videos! Sorry this is long.
I just found your Live on TicToc. I'm loving your content! You're very talented and inspiring me to try some more versatile card making on my own. I am grateful to have found you! ❤
Love these cards! They'd make anyone having a rough time smile. I think I would make the window a shaker card just but stacking a bunch more window frames rather than using the foam tape. I'm a big fan of using my Cricut to supplement my traditional cardmaking supplies or to do my own versions of sentiments.
Hi Ralph Thank you so much for using and demonstrating the Cricut. I had a Maker 3 for Christmas and I really struggled with it. It rips most of the cardstock to spreads. So any help is great. Loved the card too! 🥰
Hi Julie! What were you cutting out? I find that the Cricut isn't best for super intricate cut-out designs when using cardstock (it cuts intricate designs much better in vinyl). If you NEED to cut a very intricate design using the cricut I would make sure your cardstock is adhered very tightly to the cutting mat and make sure you're using a nice clean/sharp blade.
I often use my Cricut for images I’m missing and agree it complements my card making. I like the card and I also enjoyed watching your scene building. Very creative!
I am definitely going to try your ink blending method. My attempts seem to end up lopsided, with one color too wide and the others crowded out. Your way seems like it would work better for me. Thanks!

I love the Hero Arts Bold Prints stamps. Great quality and eminently useful. Yes, white ink has to be pigment. You can't make a white dye ink that doesn't have pigment ink in it. I've used my computer since personal computers became a thing to create sentiments or images to enhance my cards. There's no such thing as having enough stamps for the perfect sentiment or image every time. Enjoyed this video. (I think I like them all. ☺) Nice little encouragement card.
I loved this presentation! As a card maker I enjoyed seeing this technique in action, and really was inspired by Ralph's sense of style, and easy-going manner. Consider me subscribed! 🙂
Fab card Ralph, love the rainy vibe of this one. It's nice to have a rainy day to craft by. I love how you showed how the Cricut can aid in traditional card making. We don't always have "all the things" but if we have a Cricut, we can supplement what lots of what we are missing. Especially shapes and sentiments. Couldn't''t live without my Cricut machines. Loving that rain stamp....I need that one! Haha
What a great card! I have been crafting for over 10 years & I still learn things when I watch you. Never even thought to line my card up on my score board to make my cards straight - duh! Thanks!
I do have a Memories white dye ink pad, but it just doesn't stamp as well as the pigment whites, so I rarely use it. I have a tip for you when using glue to adhere acetate (or CS to CS stacks too). I apply the glue just like you did, but then I tap the piece onto a silicone mat and that literally spreads the glue evenly around AND any excess glue oozes out onto the mat instead of onto your project or the other die cut piece! Since I started using the "tap off" trick, I've never had oozing glue (really is a game changer with acetate). The mat cleans up with a spritz of water and a rag I keep just for wiping off glue.
You are very close to convincing me I need a cricket! I would love a video that does a kind of rundown of like . . . cricket basics for a budget, medium-budget cricketeers, and bling bling cricket cards. It looks like there are a lot of mats and software involved, which sounds overwhelming, but I LOVE the fact that you can create your own dies. Thanks for all of your great content!
