I have a clock that uses a yellow LED as a 2 volt Zener ( voltage dropper ) .... this is a very good idea .... but .... you should not connect the LED direct to a 3v7 Lithium battery ( the HUGE current may blow it instantly ! ) ... use a 47 Ω resistor to limit the current , to something more safe .... ( tried - n - tested ) ............. DAVE™🛑
