She has made her move, felt she was doing the right thing. As much as fans may be hurt or upset, or even Steven Francis, surely no one is feeling the pain and stress as much as she is. She will have to do her best to overcome this, and with God's help and perseverance she probably can. I do agree though, that prominent people on social media DO need to be diplomatic in how they express themselves, or face the consequences of really upsetting individuals, or even hundreds and thousands of people. Time to move on and fix what can be fixed. For her sake, and the sake of the sport and especially the Jamaican dominance we should wish her a successful comeback!
To be honest she's not the first to do well n left...Melanie Walker comes to mind and her career was ended...careful....shelly left...but said very little...and rightly so....and she is doing things she never did while t MVP....i never like Elaine breakup....and she let asafa a d his wife draw her out...
I think that her faliures was chiefly due to injuries she could not able to recovered from in due time. Her training told her that something wasn't going according to plan but what I do appreciate was that she came to the Senior trials and gave it her best shot. If she had not done so, the back chats would have been enormous. I think that all that we have seen, it terms of what she has done over the years are still there, it is just a matter of putting everything all Together in a consistent manner
If Elaine had stayed, Sherika wouldn't have gotten a chance to shine now. Just as Shelly leaving in order for Elaine to rise. All the best to Elaine. You must always be grateful to everyone that helped you along the way 🙏
Some people wonder why Elaine Thompson-Herah left MVP after that new Puma shoe deal. Puma was paying Usain Bolt $10 million a year because he was a global ambassador to the brand, so you think Elaine Thompson-Herah settled for pennies from Puma. Assume she at least signed for $2.5 million per year after repeating as double Olympic 100m & 200m sprint champion. Nike wouldn't match a high offer because of Elaine's age and investment in younger athletes like Sha'Carri Richardson. In the T&F world elite coaches can command 10% of their athletes shoe contract yearly as a coaching fee/stipend. So say Elaine signed for a yearly American $2.5 million from Puma, guess how much she owes Mr. Francis now? $250,000 per year from that Puma contract. Elaine probably thought Mr. Francis wasn't worth that much money, and she could get her husband to coach her for free and save $250,000 by leaving MVP that provided her excellent coaching, world class training partners, facilities, etc. that Mr. Herah has not been able to duplicate. It's obvious Mr. Francis felt very insulted by Elaine's MONEY decision because he coached her since she was a teenager, so he wants nothing to do with her now. True gratefulness is sharing the wealth with the person who invested and helped you become great!

Pride is what both the coach and the athlete are suffering from.If they swallow their pride or ego they will reconcile and probably come to assist each other again
His is sad but it is also reality of life we make decisions and it comes with consequences. And these things happen all the time in sports and music but i think elaine made an error because she was on the path of greatness remember the coach had her on a program which was working wonders for her and i think her support staff family and friends should have discouraged her from making that decision why she's near to the end of her career and a move wouldn't be the right thing to do because after running 10.54 this should have open her eyes as to what is to come. Im not going to bash her because we all have to make decisions at some point but i also hope it helps others not to make the same mistake
I am a fitness trainer and I don't think the coach is upset because she left, I think he is upset because she might give credit to those who never take her to the top
Everything about this situation sucks!. People are so programmed to be negative they can't see that all parties involved benefited from working with each other, for the coach his reputation got lifted up to another level because of her performance. His good coaching and a determined athlete got the desired results. Now they parted ways , wish each other all the best and keep moving.
I don't really know the internal of the situation. But I think she should have stuck to the program. Because if it ain't broke, why try to fix it. Take a little break after the 1054. Then start again. Still, Mr Francis didn't have to say all that towards her in the media brawling like that. And if fences could have been mended, it's now even harder. Trying to shatter her inner spirit. Elaine even said it's a little more difficult when your lifetime partner is a back seat driver. He might want the best for her, but a husband is not best to carry out this 1. When there's strings attached, the work ethic doesn't play out as it should, and all are witnessing it in front of our eyes.

Serves her right. You mean her husband. The high school coach for girls. As you are aware Elaine had a time of 10:54 the second fastest time in history back in August 2021. She was so close to smashing the world record. She then went on her break. Coach Francis did not know she was not coming back to MVP until when she did not show up for training. Her behavior towards coach Francis was disgraceful and disrespectful. If it weren't for him she would not have become a multimillionaire $usd. Lesson in life "Don't bite the hand that feeds you. Serves her right. Every previous athlete that coach Francis trained can come back - why? Coz they have manners and respect. Unlike Elaine.

It's not about her leaving, it's how she went about it. Manners and Courtesy is very important. As Franno said in one of his interviews, anyone of the athletes who left MVP can return, with the exception of Elaine, so something definitely went wrong.

That blow off thanks from Elaine was not enough or very genuine. I think she burned her bridges like she said on her own quote. Coach Francis was not being vindictive but just responding to questions asked and the vibes he felt from Elaine. I’m an Elaine fan regardless and support her as I do all the rest. Hope she get back on track. Her legacy stands.

I agree with Angie, ungrateful for what, listen both got what they wanted. Ok I understand him feeling burned that she hadn’t THANKED agin or his Club. Am NOT surprised with the fact that a number of caliber athletes have left his camp. He is a bully, ask the many other famous athletes why did they leave. He is a superb coach, however, there is a thin line between coaching and bullying! There are a number of well named Clubs out there, I think Elaine should demote her husband coach to another position ie massager and let the more established coaches handle her athleticism!

We can only say Elaine blundered because she has not had success of any magnitude since. Once Elaine sorts herself out, she will be fine. If she is hungry for more then more will come. Stephen and Elaine are professionals, they know more than we do. They are good in their own rights.
Elaine just got beaten by Shakarie, now I have seen this before with all our athletes. Walter Boyd, Chris Gayle,the issue as Elaine has said is that she has outgrown her base (Mr Francis) and she needs to move on,where is she heading and who CAN take her there?. Is just as Mr. Francis said give some credit to the people who worked hard to make you succeed,no one knows and can do everything for themselves. At no time did Mr. Francis came out on his own and criticized Elaine,he merely answered questions when asked by media personnel. You don't just leave without informing your trainer that you are moving on because of xyz,that would and is the respectful and proper way to split where there is no animosity.

Personally, Elaine can train herself. There is nothing more Francis can do for her, training-wise. It's not like Francis has an endless amount of training techniques. Elaine has exhausted Stephen Francis training techniques.

Only Shelly-Ann left MVP and ran faster she was determined to do that. The people Elaine had around her don't interested in her. They were just interested in building their fortunate also. Never put your trust in a man; some of them will not love you naturally, is your money and as soon as some man get rich out of a woman they will ungrateful too and leave for a next woman. I don't say this one will do that, but we see this happening in today society with famous people. Elaine love her husband dearly, and she will do anything he says for him to get benefits. Shelly does talk about her husband, but not as much as ETH. In fact, I did a video where SFP said she couldn't have done it without her husband. But I take your point. I love ETH and I hope she finds one of the other track club to kick start her career again. One love to you and much blessings.

The coaching staff of Steven Francis MVP TRACK CLUB is a good day to you all. We have the best set of athletes in Jamaica from Primary Prep to High School and University Institutions. Are we to understand that if someone made a decision to move on because of their personal reasons, they do not have a say. No, you are wrong. Everyone has a right to freedom of speech. Let us look forward to getting the entire unity among us and concentrating on both male and female athletes for the upcoming events.
She should have taken a leave of absence this way she could return if things didn’t pan out mvp definitely put her where she is and would have done more for her I was looking forward to the 10.4
Stephen has earned the right to say what he knows. Any other coach will have to learn her. By then she'll be off world record pace. She's still talented enough to be 2nd or 3rd.

I have always been of the view that dialogue and communication destroys any misgivings only francis and elaine knows the crx of their relations that led to the situation at this point. So we can speculate but wat i would lime is for them to reachnout to each other for the benefit of the game and country. We all need each other im some way or the other
If Stephen Francis is so good, why is it that “all” his athletes winning? No matter what instruction the coach gives the student/athlete has to accept it. I think Elaine is stretching herself in training. That caused her to get hurt. Notice how in the past she has not performed well in World Championship years. Olympic years, watch out!!! Alot of people must just stay as track fans- People have no idea about track- Another situation here where the ease of social media give too many dunce a platform to show their ignorant on topics- Francis has never disrespected Elaine and has never brought up her name without being asked- I hope everyone now see that ELaine was not an exceptional athlete- she was just exceptionally trained- there is a big difference and that's why leaving was her ultimate demise.
Let’s face it Stephen Francis did an excellent job with ET, however I don’t believe in keeping grudges so I don’t support that type of behavior by the coach. ET leaving MVP was a huge mistake. the training that she received there will not be duplicated by her husband. He isn’t capable enough to train her and even if he was she wouldn’t allow it because he’s her husband first and foremost. Elaine will not run sub 10.75 as long as she’s not training in the right environment. She needs to make a decision as to wether she wants to continue being great or just average. It’s that simple!

I said it before, talent can take you only as far as attitude will keep you. I love ETH but she's been arrogant and self-conceited since her 2021 great season, winning double Olympics and running a 10.54. She has not shown MVP any appreciation or thanks, how did she outgrow MVP when MVP took her to a double Olympic gold, fastest woman alive, and diamond league winner 2021? She should swallow her pride apply hindsight and beg MVP to take her back.
It wasn't necessarily a mistake to leave MVP but she should have gone to an established track club. If she stays with her husband for one more year it will be the end of her career as a top athlete.

Elaine need to publicly say thank you to Stephen Francis and move on. Francis disengage from Elaine 2019, when she failed to medal. Franno believes in winning and if you are not winning you have purpose for Franno. Franni replace Elaine with Shericka Jackson from 2019, hence Shericka ran the 100 and was supposed to run the 200. Elaine and Sherone as sorinters got the least out of Franno irrespective of the fact that he recruits them. Jamaica never thought Elaine would run 10.54, so how come Jamaicans calling her ungrateful, orior to Olympics the majority said Shelly will win, Elaine was not in their equations So Jamaicans are stepmothers and stepfathers now. Beat when you are bad and ignore the rest of the time for the true daughter who us Shelly. The comments written prior to Olympics regardong was very disturbing. Plus Jamaicans bury Elaine from 2016, she could not any medals, please do not tell me about injuries Stop parrot and research. I think that Francis paid a great deal of attention to Elaine and kinda at the expense of Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce. He is annoyed coz Elaine has not recognized his effort and regrets loosing a good sprinter Fraser-Pryce who has undoubtedly become the greatest 100m sprinter of all time man or woman.
You all talk thongs without investigating. The first year with club age 20, Shelly ran the relay heats 2007. Second year with Franno, Olympics. Prior to Shelly it was Sherone whose career ended when Shelly came on the scene. Elaine entered MVP after high school, and never competed until six years after and that was at Penns, the yate for Elaine is real. Do the maths and tell me who benefits more.
Elaine was a real "country" girl coming to town, she wasn't even competing in Champs over her early teen years until she leave Christina High and went to Manchester High, where they have a falling out for some unmentioned reason. By and by she link up with Steven Francis, that is the story I would live to hear, but since none of these adults talking about it, we will never know, until the chicken comes to roost. Elaine work very hard, might be even harder than any other athlete to achieved her goals, and of course she got all the help and support she needed from the MVP camp. Then she got married to a high school assistant coach....this is where I think that things get really sour. I am a stranger who never met none of the actors in this drama, plus I am on the outside looking in. I am a woman, I can tell anyone women just don't get up and leave any situation, the same day. We would have stayed counting the pass looking at the present and looking at the future, and balancing all of this we would have made a decision to stay, bear on or just leave. Elaine would have done that, from the little I know about her, my thoughts are that, she just have to leave win, lose or draw it wasn't about money or anything like that it was just, " I just got to leave" situation. Thus the hard feelings.

This situation is bad all around. Elaine is an adult and with that comes the right to choose a different path. But, because she was so vocal about the separation the public has taken notes. It's the reason why most coaches will prefer a hungry but promising athlete, than a talented one. As the fastest woman alive, Elaine needs the best coach alive, not her husband as a stand-in. It's for that reason I'll second what Mr Francis said. "People will begin to listen to the newbies that just arrive, after they become famous." Together they've made a good financial decision but what good is that if you can't qualify for an individual event. What Elaine's done is as simply as this, she kicked away the ladder that helped her climb to the top of the tree. The interviewer had to pull that little thanks out of her, and she never mentioned names. That of course would've showed sincerity but it didn't transmit. I don't know how this will end but it's an Olympic year in 24, and no one can write the script but Elaine. Her hubby signed up for better or worse and either can be 12 months away. Blessings!

The only athlete that left Franno and remained relevant is Shelly.Look wat Franno has done with Shericka in 2 yrs. She is now running away from Elaine.Franno is our greatest track coach. Him have all the receipts to show his success. She needs a coach. Period
It comes a time when we must move on. Perhaps Elaine Thompson felt like there was nothing more to benefit from where she was. Being a people pleasure has been know to cause more harm than good. And whether she admits to it or not, with a sincere heart or other. Elaine can not say she got to where she is on her own. That was a team effort. And her say she has out grown them isn’t the fight, it’s what brought about her choosing to leave. And only he, Elaine and God knows what took place. That has to be reconciled within the hearts of Elaine and her x manager and coach. I pray for the best for each of them.
MVP like all top clubs has lost a lot of athletes. However local clubs like MVP and RACERS really require top athletes to stay, why it's other athletes before them who along with the club financed them. However once most of them hit the big time they want to collect their bags of money so they leave. Some leave because they're not getting sufficient attention. The problem with Elaine is that right up until she left she denied leaving publicly. She was cornered when journalists visited MVP camp and she wasn't there one week into background training. It was only then that she admitted she was leaving this wasn't conveyed to MVP as yet. Afterwards every interview she would be on and on about her husband and her new training regime. Not once was she injured. After being beaten at trials the injury talk started and has been the case for 2 years now. MVP brought her from high school to the pinnacle of world athletics if you're ungrateful for that you'll learn the hard way. I'm a proud Jamaican but tired of hearing her sympathizers further leading her a stray. If she does catch herself early trust me no big club will touch her.
Elaine is my girl but she made a stupid move. What claim to fame does Mr. Herah has as a track coach? An athlete needs a coach. A good athlete needs a good coach. An elite athlete needs an elite coach. If her career flops, Mr. Herah's career as a coach is stillborn. Then both of them would have failed. Why run that risk? Because of her accomplishments so far and her potential for delivering so much more, Elaine has far more to lose than her husband, who is an unknown quantity. If she doesn't want to move on from him as a coach, then he should man up and do the right thing and quit.
Pride gets in the way sometimes. If Mr. Herah were to quit, it would be basically admitting that the whole coaching experiment (because that's what it basically was) was a failure. But at age 31, time is not on her side at all. If she's going to make a move (and I think she should), she better do it fast. Father Time waits for no one.
Elaine could not deal with the man anymore, I felt she appreciate the coach and this is what she outgrew. Shelly left Franno twice, and Melaine Walker left in the heights of her career too.

I think that her faliures was chiefly due to injuries she could not able to recovered from in due time. Her training told her that something wasn't going according to plan but what I do appreciate was that she came to the Senior trials and gave it her best shot.

Some people wonder why Elaine Thompson-Herah left MVP after that new Puma shoe deal. Puma was paying Usain Bolt $10 million a year because he was a global ambassador to the brand, so you think Elaine Thompson-Herah settled for pennies from Puma. Assume she at least signed for $2.5 million per year after repeating as double Olympic 100m & 200m sprint champion. Nike wouldn't match a high offer because of Elaine's age and investment in younger athletes like Sha'Carri Richardson. In the T&F world elite coaches can command 10% of their athletes shoe contract yearly as a coaching fee/stipend. So say Elaine signed for a yearly American $2.5 million from Puma, guess how much she owes Mr. Francis now? $250,000 per year from that Puma contract. Elaine probably thought Mr. Francis wasn't worth that much money, and she could get her husband to coach her for free and save $250,000 by leaving MVP that provided her excellent coaching, world class training partners, facilities, etc. that Mr. Herah has not been able to duplicate. It's obvious Mr. Francis felt very insulted by Elaine's MONEY decision because he coached her since she was a teenager, so he wants nothing to do with her now. True gratefulness is sharing the wealth with the person who invested and helped you become great!

His is sad but it is also reality of life we make decisions and it comes with consequences. And these things happen all the time in sports and music but i think elaine made an error because she was on the path of greatness remember the coach had her on a program which was working wonders for her and i think her support staff family and friends should have discouraged her from making that decision why she's near to the end of her career and a move wouldn't be the right thing to do because after running 10.54 this should have open her eyes as to what is to come. Im not going to bash her because we all have to make decisions at some point but i also hope it helps others not to make the same mistake

Everything about this situation sucks!. People are so programmed to be negative they can't see that all parties involved benefited from working with each other, for the coach his reputation got lifted up to another level because of her performance. His good coaching and a determined athlete got the desired results. Now they parted ways , wish each other all the best and keep moving.

I don't really know the internal of the situation. But I think she should have stuck to the program. Because if it ain't broke, why try to fix it. Take a little break after the 1054. Then start again. Still, Mr Francis didn't have to say all that towards her in the media brawling like that. And if fences could have been mended, it's now even harder. Trying to shatter her inner spirit. Elaine even said it's a little more difficult when your lifetime partner is a back seat driver. He might want the best for her, but a husband is not best to carry out this 1. When there's strings attached, the work ethic doesn't play out as it should, and all are witnessing it in front of our eyes.

She was so close to smashing the world record. She then went on her break. Coach Francis did not know she was not coming back to MVP until when she did not show up for training. Her behavior towards coach Francis was disgraceful and disrespectful. If it weren't for him she would not have become a multimillionaire $usd. Lesson in life "Don't bite the hand that feeds you. I agree with Angie, ungrateful for what, listen both got what they wanted. Ok I understand him feeling burned that she hadn’t THANKED agin or his Club. Am NOT surprised with the fact that a number of caliber athletes have left his camp. He is a bully, ask the many other famous athletes why did they leave. He is a superb coach, however, there is a thin line between coaching and bullying! There are a number of well named Clubs out there, I think Elaine should demote her husband coach to another position ie massager and let the more established coaches handle her athleticism!

Walter Boyd, Chris Gayle,the issue as Elaine has said is that she has outgrown her base (Mr Francis) and she needs to move on,where is she heading and who CAN take her there?. The coaching staff of Steven Francis MVP TRACK CLUB is a good day to you all. We have the best set of athletes in Jamaica from Primary Prep to High School and University Institutions. Are we to understand that if someone made a decision to move on because of their personal reasons, they do not have a say. No, you are wrong. Everyone has a right to freedom of speech. Let us look forward to getting the entire unity among us and concentrating on both male and female athletes for the upcoming events.

Let’s face it Stephen Francis did an excellent job with ET, however I don’t believe in keeping grudges so I don’t support that type of behavior by the coach. ET leaving MVP was a huge mistake. the training that she received there will not be duplicated by her husband. He isn’t capable enough to train her and even if he was she wouldn’t allow it because he’s her husband first and foremost.
Elaine will not run sub 10.75 as long as she’s not training in the right environment. She needs to make a decision as to wether she wants to continue being great or just average. It’s that simple!

It wasn't necessarily a mistake to leave MVP but she should have gone to an established track club. If she stays with her husband for one more year it will be the end of her career as a top athlete.

Francis disengage from Elaine 2019, when she failed to medal.

I think that Francis paid a great deal of attention to Elaine and kinda at the expense of Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce. He is annoyed coz Elaine has not recognized his effort and regrets loosing a good sprinter Fraser-Pryce who has undoubtedly become the greatest 100m sprinter of all time man or woman.

Prior to Shelly it was Sherone whose career ended when Shelly came on the scene.
Elaine entered MVP after high school, and never competed until six years after and that was at Penns, the yate for Elaine is real.

Elaine was a real "country" girl coming to town, she wasn't even competing in Champs over her early teen years until she leave Christina High and went to Manchester High, where they have a falling out for some unmentioned reason. By and by she link up with Steven Francis, that is the story I would live to hear, but since none of these adults talking about it, we will never know, until the chicken comes to roost. Elaine work very hard, might be even harder than any other athlete to achieved her goals, and of course she got all the help and support she needed from the MVP camp. Then she got married to a high school assistant coach....this is where I think that things get really sour. I am a stranger who never met none of the actors in this drama, plus I am on the outside looking in. I am a woman, I can tell anyone women just don't get up and leave any situation, the same day. We would have stayed counting the pass looking at the present and looking at the future, and balancing all of this we would have made a decision to stay, bear on or just leave. Elaine would have done that, from the little I know about her, my thoughts are that, she just have to leave win, lose or draw it wasn't about money or anything like that it was just, " I just got to leave" situation. Thus the hard feelings.

This situation is bad all around. Elaine is an adult and with that comes the right to choose a different path. But, because she was so vocal about the separation the public has taken notes. It's the reason why most coaches will prefer a hungry but promising athlete, than a talented one. As the fastest woman alive, Elaine needs the best coach alive, not her husband as a stand-in. It's for that reason I'll second what Mr Francis said. "People will begin to listen to the newbies that just arrive, after they become famous." Together they've made a good financial decision but what good is that if you can't qualify for an individual event. What Elaine's done is as simply as this, she kicked away the ladder that helped her climb to the top of the tree. The interviewer had to pull that little thanks out of her, and she never mentioned names. That of course would've showed sincerity but it didn't transmit. I don't know how this will end but it's an Olympic year in 24, and no one can write the script but Elaine. Her hubby signed up for better or worse and either can be 12 months away. Blessings!

It comes a time when we must move on. Perhaps Elaine Thompson felt like there was nothing more to benefit from where she was. Being a people pleasure has been know to cause more harm than good. And whether she admits to it or not, with a sincere heart or other. Elaine can not say she got to where she is on her own. That was a team effort. And her say she has out grown them isn’t the fight, it’s what brought about her choosing to leave. And only he, Elaine and God knows what took place. That has to be reconciled within the hearts of Elaine and her x manager and coach. I pray for the best for each of them.
MVP like all top clubs has lost a lot of athletes. However local clubs like MVP and RACERS really require top athletes to stay, why it's other athletes before them who along with the club financed them. However once most of them hit the big time they want to collect their bags of money so they leave. Some leave because they're not getting sufficient attention. The problem with Elaine is that right up until she left she denied leaving publicly. She was cornered when journalists visited MVP camp and she wasn't there one week into background training. It was only then that she admitted she was leaving this wasn't conveyed to MVP as yet. Afterwards every interview she would be on and on about her husband and her new training regime. Not once was she injured. After being beaten at trials the injury talk started and has been the case for 2 years now. MVP brought her from high school to the pinnacle of world athletics if you're ungrateful for that you'll learn the hard way. I'm a proud Jamaican but tired of hearing her sympathizers further leading her a stray. If she does catch herself early trust me no big club will touch her.
What I've learned in life is, Men leave for better and women leave when they get better.
The latter are clearly opportunists which indicates that her decision to leave was not impromptu but was years in the making.

Elaine is my girl but she made a stupid move. What claim to fame does Mr. Herah has as a track coach? An athlete needs a coach. A good athlete needs a good coach. An elite athlete needs an elite coach. If her career flops, Mr. Herah's career as a coach is stillborn. Then both of them would have failed. Why run that risk? Because of her accomplishments so far and her potential for delivering so much more, Elaine has far more to lose than her husband, who is an unknown quantity. If she doesn't want to move on from him as a coach, then he should man up and do the right thing and quit.
Pride gets in the way sometimes. If Mr. Herah were to quit, it would be basically admitting that the whole coaching experiment (because that's what it basically was) was a failure. But at age 31, time is not on her side at all. If she's going to make a move (and I think she should), she better do it fast. Father Time waits for no one.
Elaine could not deal with the man anymore, I felt she appreciate the coach and this is what she outgrew. Shelly left Franno twice, and Melaine Walker left in the heights of her career too.
