Back in 1984 when I first saw Maiden playing this track live (Sept 22nd) and had been playing for a couple of years (a little younger than you Shawn) I would have killed to be this good on guitar, especially playing this. You are exceptionally talented. I like that you've dug into the roots of metal and have become a fan too! But...where are all the subs for this channel? I don't get it :/

Es esa expresión en la guitarra la que hace vibrar y no todos los guitarras, por muy virtuosos no la logran, pero tú lo haces. El rock es expresividad y se nota en cada bending y ligado del solo que hiciste.

to me this solo cover stands out. Not one-to-one but in my opinion enhanced with some homemade special sauce that you wont find anywhere else. You can really taste that finess on that flaming solo! great video man

To answer your question (albeit a little late haha) I had some great teachers that helped me learn the theory side of music, but for rock and metal most of it was playing songs that I loved or finding songs that had specific things that I wanted to learn in them. For example, I really wanted to learn sweep picking so I learned the Painkiller solo. I just started out really slow with any new technique I was learning and eventually got it to where it became almost second nature by playing it over and over again

I'm still a beginner but I'm focusing on practising galopp-picking and alternate picking. I can play Hallowed be thy Name at 100% speed except for the double time at the end (And without the Solo...). How would you rank Powerslave difficult wise among all Iron Maiden songs, and also compared to Hallowed be thy Name? Also what Maiden songs would you recommend as top 10 easiest (but fun to play :D)? Man I hope I can play like you in this video, some day 😁 ah btw I'm using a Harley Benton Victory Classic BK Vintage. Flying V for beginners hehe
