- A level themed around Terraria and it's calamity mod, that adds a plethora of items and bosses as well to the base game, and one of them is showcased here, The Devourer. Making something that's based off of another game is tough by itself, but Whirl managed to make this whole experience over 3 minutes long, with a game that has so much detail and nuance such as Terraria and nailed it perfectly. From the backgrounds that show all of the different biomes you can explore even having the parallax effect we're all used to seeing when moving around, to the colors of each section which are colorful and vibrant, just like the original, to the epic final battle against this giant Lovecraftian creature.
The boss is hands down the best part of the level, and not just the bossfight itself, it's the fact that it's appearance is hinted at throughout the entire thing, up to the point where you can see it flying around behind the obstacles, waiting for the perfect moment to strike, I feel this adds to the tension and immerses you so much more into the world. The bossfight is just the icing on the cake, the bosses movements are fluid and accurate, it's design is perfect as well, getting even the smaller detailes right and the addition of a life bar adds to the experience as well.
Overall if you're a fan of Terraria or even if you've never played it before, you should go and play this level as soon as possible. - เกม

He even put so much detail in! If you don't play terraria/calamity, the devourer of gods has multiple segments, which are all correctly named in this level. The attacks are also super accurate, along with the sprite. Which is absolutely awesome, Whirl clearly knew what he was doing. So talented, it's amazing

Additionally to all of that, he used accurate sprites of weapons youd use in that fight well maybe not omega biome blade. But you definitely use the soul edge in the DOG fight if youre playing melee.

I don't think the Astral infection part is necessary for the progression unless he's trying to get Astral ore but I'm pretty sure it's not useful at that point of the game (sorry for responding 2 years later)
I've ever wanted to see a calamity-themed GD Level, but THAT is better than everything I could imagine!

Me too, I was watching terraria earlier, then this video came up in my notifications.
This is absolutely incredible. I thought it would just be a fun level based off of the devourer but you actually fight all of the sentinels and the devourer. Also the amount of detail put into the art is mind blowing

I've said it once, and i'll say it again. DoG Is literally the theme that elaborates just how far you've come in terms of terraria/calamity lore. going from a meager slime killer to Killing the Devourer, an otherwise universe scale threat.

The beauty of this level is that if you don't know what Terraria is, you'd still think it's an amazing level.
I think that's many GD levels like Game Time
@@aaronandmusic5689 yet when you play it you know immediately it IS from a different game, if you take a look at this and you don't know what Terraria is, then it wouldn't be clear that this was a game in the first place.
I have total of 5 minutes in Terraria play time because I couldnt get into it, but this is an amazing level

@@acorn861 keep practicing your flying, make sure to have celestial tracers on, and dont hesitate to use the rod of discord. also keep an eye on your buffs and potion cooldowns. dont worry about how long its taking you. its a very difficult boss.

DOG’s soundtrack is a masterpiece, so climactic and it feels like it lives up to the boss and its fight.
It is nothing short legendary.

i can confirm that this is death mode because the head of DoG one shots you. finally that will be changed in the next update

wfft this level is amazing, with design, gameplay and especially how the devourer fight in general is presented, even its sentinels are brought about really nicely and wow i just love everythin about it
the coolest part about the music in my opinion, is how it has pieces of music from the 3 mini bosses before it while it has its own melody too, then in the final form its only d.o.g.'s music

Man, it would be cooler when DoG has a first phase and when he dies, tha chat section says "A GOD DOES NOT FEAR DEATH" or "It's not over yet kid!" And goes to his second phase, but still this map is still so cool
