Or just rinse your beans thoroughly after cooking and don't use the water they are cooked in. Ppl don't realize if you simply rinse cooked beans from even a can they don't give you gas. It really is that simple and night and day of a diff. Never cook dried beans in the chili for example. Cool and rinse beans then add to chili. Tbh canned beans are the main cause of gas because nobody knows to rinse em and that is concentrated trouble in that can if you don't. The second main cause is ppl cooking dried uncooked beans directly in the soup and chili. What you suggests remedies the problem and not completely. It doesn't prevent the problem

There is another neat thing you can do with A&H Baking Soda. If you have to make an emergency repair on something but you need an adhesive to be like a filler too A&H will help you out. Sprinkle some baking soda into the area needing the repair. Then apply a few drops of Super Glue. It will quickly harden into a very strong solid you can file down afterward.
@Mr. Sarcastic I use baking soda, sea salt and cinnamon to brush then bathe teeth in coconut oil 15 minutes. Teeth never been better since quitting fluoride toothpaste.

MystFae X baking soda is an abrasive and will strip the enamel off your teeth which will make them more susceptible to cavities. Mixing a little oil prevents the stripping of the enamel. Happy brushing regardless of how you do it. I know some people who don’t brush their teeth at all.

robzomboi hey interesting fact superglue was invented or first used to stop soldiers bleeding on the battlefield by quickly treating/closing wounds more affectively . Not only have I come across this information over the decades but my cousin is in the Army and he verified that this was the case . I've also known of a few people who have used superglue to reattach dental crowns that have come off and all sorts of things for their bodies
Yes it does help take the pain away, I went to the doctor on 2 separate occasions becous of the bladder infection, and the medicine they gave me didn't help , and I used the baking soda with water and it cured me, I could have saved hundreds of dollars if I could had known about this remedy. I reuse a plastic spice bottle to carry and use baking soda in my meal/cook kit either in my saddle pocket or my hiking/biking pack. The bottle is puncture resistant; is fairly air tight and allows for sprinkling of the soda. I use to wash my dishes and pots after a meal on the trail.

Good video. I have a BUNCH of stray cats running around my place, and I feed and water them. They kill mice, and no mice, means no snakes and in Louisiana there's snakes. Anyway, I seen one that turned sick over night and died from worm fits. They now all have worms, and twice a day, if you take a heaping teaspoon or so of baking soda and put it in about 2 cups of milk, they'll drink it up and that will kill every worm in an animal in a week or two. Keep up the great work.
For almost any pain - make a paste with baking soda and prepared mustard you will be amazed at how fast the pain stops. Also mustard/soda paste works great for sun spots pre-cancer put on spot at night after a week or two spots will fall off.
It's great for getting gasoline off of your hands. I read that tip several years ago and have used it ever since. If you get gas on your hands, soap usually doesn't get rid of the smell-no matter how much you scrub. Wash your hands with baking soda and it is much better.
I use peppermint castile liquid soap like Dr. Bronners etc. and it gets rid of gasoline smell every time. Gets motor oil and grease right off your hands better than that Orange goop stuff!
@@kbee225 The smell and many parts of gasoline will remain until removed. I worked with both gasoline and diesel. You have to wash it off, pumice soap helps get many things off, but gasoline is also a solvent.

During the 1960s, I remember my grandad used to sometimes mix baking soda in a glass of water and stir it, then drink it, especially after a meal. I was a little kid, and never asked him why he drank it, but I guess it helps with gastric bloat or gas.
Neutralizes the acid and works great for heartburn. BUT you have to be able to burp!! If you don't your stomach will be like an overfilled balloon, very uncomfortable. Too much pressure can mess with your heart, it was claimed. I can burp pretty easy and it works better than Tums or Rolaids. Good stuff.
For an emergency electrolyte solution, I've used about 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoons of both baking soda and salt, and up to one teaspoon of sugar in 3-6 oz of water. If you have nothing else like gatorade or coconut water, it works quite well. If you're at home, I've added a splash of lemon or lime juice. If you have access to a magnesium powder, a bit of that is a great addition. There's a brand called "Calm" that I use, any decent herb or vitamin shop should have it. It doesn't taste very good to be honest, but if you've ever suffered from heat stroke or the like, you're not going to care about the taste.
I watched a video the other day about 22 ways of how to use coca cola. One was cleaning the inside of a coffee pot, another was spraying it on bathroom tiles and letting it sit awhile. It washes them off great and it also gets the rust off tools. What would it do to your insides then, huh?
I drink so much water that it washed my electrolytes and ending me in hospital for fluids so now I'm told by my Dr to eat salts and I'm good thanks to baking soda and salt with sugar in my water
Ahh., baking soda has been very helpful for me for many years., it’s alway good to have extra on hand! Vinegar is also another natural helper around the house too., I use it for windows, faucets., etc., plus baking too!
Soak vinegar on old sponges, put them around vents outside. Repels rats, mice etc. They will not not come inside. They hate the smell of vinegar. Campers put vinegar under cabin to repel snakes, too. 😬 Baking soda great for pet smells on mattress... for pets that like to sleep with you but shouldn't. Put generous amount of baking soda between mattress and mattress cover or sheets. Vacuum away after few days. (Old campiing trick. ) I love this channel.. ❤ Thank you.

To keep your metal, over the fire, pans from getting black in the first place just slather on a little liquid dish soap onto the bottom before putting it over the fire. A tip I learned in the Girl Scouts.
I use it in every bath,1 cup. I used only baking soda for showers for a week, and my skin felt soooo good, 1 cup on the scrubby, rub all over, rinse off. Brush my teeth with it, followed by flossing then neti salt / logol's iodine 2% 20 drops in the water pik. (no ingesting flouride) Clean the stainless sink, water distiller, coffee pot, bath tub, shower, oven with it. Make my laundry soap with it. ( 5 gallons distilled water, 2 bars fells-napthla, 2 cups super washing soda, 2 cups borax) Add it to the mop bucket. Sprinkle on the roof at the end of summer (Seattle area) no moss on a 15 year 3-tab roof, 25 years later. Scrub my hands with it, gets all the dirt / oil off. I'm allergic to bee stings, I made a paste of it when I got stung on the neck and didn't have an epi-pen, made it to the ER 30 mins later no problems. Use it in my boots every day after work. Scrub my feet in it and have no foot / toenail fungus. Good thing Amazon sells it by the 15 lb bag..... Put one cup in your car wash soap / bucket.... hellooooo shiny. Car rims, tires, headlights and tail lights (make a paste). I put a cup of it in the bath water when giving my dogs a bath. Less dry skin, less soap, less conditioner. Great tip about fire extinguishing, I didn't know that one. I use baking soda all the time, for all sorts of things, but not to brush my teeth. I did that for two years, made my own toothpaste and all. Messed up my teeth big time. Baking soda is simply too abrasive to be used long term.

Hi Scott Really appreciate your programming. I especially appreciate your character. Just wanted to chime in Epsom salt is not a Sodium salt . It is Magnesium Sulfate ,which has all kinds of uses different from Bi carbonate of soda
@@shanescatsandcannabisfarm2965 sulfate is from sulfur. Also, some epsom-type salts are magnesium chloride, etc. but the main component is magnesium, and not sodium like baking soda. Most people don't read manufacturers instructions. Love your videos! One caution about putting it in your carpet. I tried this trick and it killed my old durable Hoover upright. The vacuum repair guy told me that he gets all kinds of vacuum cleaners in there where the baking soda has tore up the bearings inside the vacuum cleaner, so you want to make sure that you don't vacuum it out with a regular vacuum cleaner. You want to use the Shop-Vac or something where that dust is kept away from the motor and the fan bearings.
The Red Cross recommended adding baking soda to the laundry to get the smoke smell out of my clothes after my apartment was struck by lightning and burned down. It worked! Outside of Shtf, it can be used to unblock sink or bathroom plugholes. Put a goodly amount (a heaped tablespoon) down the plughole, then add vinegar, until it begins to bubble, but don't breathe in the fumes! It's also good used neat, or as a paste with water or liquid detergent, for removing caked in grease from cooker (stove) tops or ovens.
Baking Soda as an underarm deodorant: Please test this in advance. Putting bicarb directly on your skin and leaving it there can lead to dryness, itchiness, redness and even a rash, especially if you just started doing this on a daily basis. I suggest everyone try it for a few days or a week under ideal conditions first, where you can wash it off and apply moisturizer if needed. It doesn't do this to everyone and it may not always happen to anyone, but it's worth understanding and acknowledging the less desirable side effects.

Sootch00 Baking soda works great in laundry. Cleans grease and odors and stains from colored clothes and makes whites , linens, socks, etc bright white. Will polish aluminum fantastically. In case you or anyone else does not know this old trick, to stop corrosion on battery terminals put a dab of silicone on the battery about an inch from the post and stick a penny into the silicone. All corrosion will go to the penny. When the penny gets covered and nasty you can either clean it with baking soda, or use a screwdriver blade to remove the penny, then replace it. Usually lasts about 12-18 months.
I just coat the battery post with some grease. It works,For I know 1st hand cause for 10 years after my father past on ,Batteries in his gravel still held power and no corrosion.Just a nickel for the thought.

Add 1/2 cup of baking soda to the wash water. The baking soda softens the water and deodorizes your laundry. Add 1/2 cup of white vinegar to the fabric softener dispenser or to the final rinse cycle. The white vinegar softens your laundry and dissolves soap residue. Use wool dryer balls in your dryer. The wool dryer balls fluffs your laundry and reduces drying time.

When cooking pinto Beans add a tsp of Baking soda. To remove gas,
Any dried beans....

My recipe for toothpaste 1/8c Coconut oil. 1/2t cinnamon, cocoa turmeric, & clove, 1/8t baking soda. Charcoal powder once a week. (look up benefits of spices & seasonings)
I wet my toothbrush & touch it to the baking soda & brush, no additives, I hate mint & grease in my mouth, yuk!😣
Like brushing with candy 😑 eww! (Never had a cavity)
MystFae X baking soda is an abrasive and will strip the enamel off your teeth which will make them more susceptible to cavities. Mixing a little oil prevents the stripping of the enamel. Happy brushing regardless of how you do it. I know some people who don’t brush their teeth at all.
Made my own toothpaste with coconut oil once & learned my lesson when I had to have the sink pipes cleaned out 😔

It's great for getting gasoline off of your hands. I read that tip several years ago and have used it ever since. If you get gas on your hands, soap usually doesn't get rid of the smell-no matter how much you scrub. Wash your hands with baking soda and it is much better.

Neutralizes the acid and works great for heartburn. BUT you have to be able to burp!! If you don't your stomach will be like an overfilled balloon, very uncomfortable.
Epsom's Salts is magnesium sulfate. A tiny teeny teeny tiny bit won't hurt, but more will loosen the bowels. It's bitter, though.

Been there...done that, too. LOL.
Same with sheetrock dust. Will destroy your household vacuum.
Same goes for that deodorizing carpet powders. Awful for vacuums

I make laundry soap (just do the dry even though I like liquid) doesn't get soapy like the commerical stuff but I would do this for folks working fire damages and even crime scenes and I would get so much out.

Epsom salts are magnesium salts (MgSo4). Another critical electrolyte to muscle function, including your heart muscle. Soak in a bath for 30 mins and it will replace low magnesium levels and relieve muscle soreness, take a teaspoon in water and watch out! It's going to relieve constipation, but in a crampy way. There may be other uses? Would be a good vid.
Thanks for the info. I'll check it out.

Be prepared for unexpected diarrhea with any kind of exposure to magnesium be it from an epsom bath or magnesium oil or any kind of sudden / excessive ingestion.
@@johnwicksfoknpencil I like to party.
Diabetics should be careful doing this.
Epsom salts are not salt. It is magnesium sulfate. Sulfate draws toxins from your body and magnesium is absorbed into the body, which gives you energy.
Not recommended for use by those having high BP because it contains sodium
LANCY PINTO Great point

Wow, finally a normal old-style video from Sensible prepper. It's been a long way of over-commercialization from 2015 till now and frankly the first video of SP I've gladly watched since then.
Preppers all want us to buy gold and silver...from their sponsors of course

My grandmother taught me to treat plantar warts by making a paste of baking soda & vinegar & caking it on the wart & then covering with a bandaid to keep the paste in place. After several days & re-applying as needed, the wart can be lifted/ pryed off without pain to the patient. It works well.
Penny Hines do you think it would work for corns?
@@143CHANTAL Since corns & plantar warts seem similar in composition, I would probably give each the same treatment. Don't think it would hurt to try.
Penny Hines yea that was my thought on it as well. Thanks!
