    I like the fact that it isn't harmful. I have pets inside and don't have to worry about fumes. I have 2 rooms to scrap paint off . Walls & ceiling. Tedius & time consuming sure..but I have the time and I plan on doing just a small section at time. That doesn't bother me. Just glad to have found something that works , doesn't damage the drywall & doesn't have harmful chemicals. I'm on a budget so taking awhile to do it myself is a better option than paying thousands for a contractor.

      Did it work? My whole house is like yours, I have to dust my walls, painting is a pain and god forbid you rub against the wall, you're likely to end up bleeding!

    The difficulty with this removal task was that the tile was loose and had to be held in place. Working overhead is tough and not for everyone but for some preferable to the cost of a contractor. EZ Strip Popcorn Ceiling Remover offers a DIY removal option for painted drywall textures where there simply just wasn't before. There appears to be no way to keep the plastic on the ceiling. This video might be OK for a very small space and for thinly applied texture, but after two applications and waiting an hour after each as instructed for heavy texture, nothing is coming off. So I tried putting another layer and putting plastic over top. This is a nearly impossible task unless you are doing one square foot at a time. I am only trying to do a kitchen (200 sq ft).

      To cover a treated ceiling - use a roll of thin painter's plastic start by taping the starting edge have someone hold up the other end and push plastic onto treated area with a broom, tape wall edges as you go. Check out this video for ceilings th-cam.com/video/lMv4igXgJDw/w-d-xo.html

    After watching this it makes me want to either rip the ceiling down and replace or install a second layer of drywall over top.

    • @jasonmiller7891
      @jasonmiller7891 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      By the thin 3/8 or you can even get the 1/4 drywall. It's light and you can attach it with 1 5/8 drywall screws. Tape / Mud and texture to your hearts delight. Cheap and quick.

      @@jasonmiller7891 I'm going to do a test spot and see how hard it is. I may wind up putting a second layer. Don't really want the mess of tearing it down, either way, the stippled ceiling must go!

    Ok, 4 year old vid, let's see if they'll answer...
    How long of a wait until the stripper is deactivated before applying paint or skim coat?
    Does the water neutralize it?
    Thanks

    • @TheEZstrip
      @TheEZstrip  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The stripper is neutralized with water. The last step is to wipe the surface clean with a damp cloth to remove and neutralize any remaining product. Always allow surfaces to completely dry before patching and sanding.

    So, this takes off texture to its original dry wall state? Has anyone ever used this do remove texture to entire house?

    • @TheEZstrip
      @TheEZstrip  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the texture is made from drywall mud (the most common material used) even with multiple layers of paint our product is designed to soften material so it can be scraped down to the original drywall.

    Yeesh....for how hard that is to scrape on a tiny piece...imagine doing 1000sqft?!

    • @TheEZstrip
      @TheEZstrip  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is easier when the surface is not a loose piece of drywall. I have done a 1000+ sq ft room texture removal project before and it was a lot more cost effective than having a contractor come in to skim coat the texture.

    If you only have 1 square foot to do, and a week to do it - this looks like a great method. lol In reality, this is WAY to time consuming and expensive.

    • @TheEZstrip

      EZ Strip Popcorn Ceiling Remover has a coverage of approx. 30 square feet per litre. • @TheEZstrip
      @TheEZstrip  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The material typically used to make drywall texture is drywall mud and yes that material is water soluble. However once you seal that texture in with paint homemade water removal solutions just don't work. EZ Strip Popcorn Ceiling Remover is specifically designed to remove painted drywall textures.
